Bilbo returned the grin, "Well--" his windpipes were cut off when Kili gave him the hug, and he returned the embrace and waited until he had pulled away to speak again. "I was on my way home when I came through Mirkwood...I, erm, got lost...and then I came here for help. King Thranduil hasn't thrown us in his dungeon yet, so things are going well, right?" the Hobbit joked, shifting from foot to foot. He was actually still a little concerned about that. Part of him feared the Elvenking would see the Hobbit and the present Dwarves as dead weight and leave them here to die while the Elves evacuated. Thranduil believed in protecting his own. But Bilbo pushed the notion aside. No one was that heartless, not even an Elf. He frowned when he heard about Fili and Thorin. "They're...they're still sick?" he knew Thorin and Fili hadn't been in the best condition when he'd left. "Are they---?" he started to say, then stopped abruptly when he felt something in the air shift. The ring, in his pocket, felt like it suddenly weighed a ton of bricks. The Hobbit pulled out Sting, and it hummed with a glowing blue light. After staring at it blankly for a few dreadful seconds, he finally spoke up. "Um...I think there are Orcs nearby!"

Tauriel sighed. She knew her proposal to stand and fight wouldn't rally any support, especially not with this audience. But they had a point - this forest was not well. Their fortress was growing weaker by the second. It was not the best place to make a stand. "...You are correct," she conceded reluctantly. "...and since that is the case...I would like to request coming with you." Traveling with this large group would be safer, and if they were planning to make a move eventually, she wanted to be there for it. She perked up though, when the Hobbit shouted in alarm. His dagger was glowing blue...there were Orcs near. Her hand instinctively glided to her bow.

Dori managed a weak smile. "...I reckon they don't. And if they do, they can just as easily conjure up a fire to warm them. But it's the thought that counts," he pointed out, then laughed halfheartedly. He knew his younger brother wasn't happy here; he could see it in his eyes. He hated seeing his kin so despondent...especially after such a hard-earned "victory". They all knew it wasn't really victory at all. Maybe they would go home. Maybe they would grab Nori and leave, just the three of them. But something was holding him back...he felt responsible, in a way, for Thorin and Fili. He didn't want to leave them with their sickness. He wanted to help
cure them. He feared, though, that the only cure would be to make them leave. And they wouldn't want that. After wrestling with himself for a few moments, he finally voiced what he wanted to say. "...Ori...if I said, 'let's pack up and leave'...would you?"
