William stared down at the girl for a moment taken by her beauty. The pause was undoubtedly awkward, and became even worse when he finally realized who he had encountered. Still, he did not fumble, his pause was only due to thought. He took a moment to recollect himself and offered his hand. He helped her to her feet with grace. He immediately removed his hat, revealing his fine mess of dark hair, and bowed. "I did not expect to see a member of the Took family at this hour," he said with disbelief. "Are you alright Madam? Were you being chased?" He contemplated her arrival before bombarding her with questions. "Of course, you must have left the house to begin with...but why?" It was hard at times to tell if he was talking to himself or to her, as he was what one could call "a loud thinker". At last he continued, "I don't wish to bring any difficulty on any member of your house. If you just have a good enough reason for being out, I can help you. Regardless, it is not wise to walk alone like this. Even more so with shifters at large. You must be careful, m'lady." His green eyes grew bright with moonlight, as he stood waiting for her answer.

Lady Augustine Pomarine Rook:
Augustine tried to think of lies to tell him, but couldn't find any. "i'm fine, no I wasn't being chased, I'm just out for some feedwater..." She had tore her dresses shirt. Augustine cursed softly, and said, "Thank you for not telling anyone, I just i'm gonna go high if I stay in that house any longer." She kept her hand on his arm, to keep her balance. She looked up at him and said, "I honestly don't want to go back, I'm looking for a hotel or something to stay in for the night..." She knew better than to tell him about her looking for shifters.

William returned his hat to his head. "I can understand. I enjoy a good drink every now and then." he said finally cracking a smile. "I'm glad to hear that you're alright." He looked down at her bright blond hair before surveying the surrounding area. "No matter how beautiful a house is, they can feel sort of boring after a while, almost stagnant. I myself always prefer a bit of adventure, and everyone needs a break at some point. You and I would just happen to need it sooner." He knew her lack of balance and she seemed a bit out of it. William certainly didn't want her roaming the streets like this. "If you don't mind, I'll accompany you until you're safe inside the hotel."

Augustine nodded and said, "Thank you, sir. But first may we go for a drink?" She tried not to fall down. "I think I need a new dress..." She said in a haze as she ran her hand over his arm on accident.

William thought for a moment. "Yes," he responded, "I suppose we could. Whichever pub you prefer." She accidently ran her hand over his arm, giving him a chance to notice the tear on her shirt. He removed a pin off of his jacket and offered to help seal the tear. The bronze pin depicted an eagle in flight, holding a white rose. It blended in with the uniform enough, but it shined a little too brightly for his dark uniform. "It's not a real badge," he told her. "it was a gift from a friend, but I think you need it more than I do. It will keep the tear from getting worse."

Augustine put the pen on her skirt. "Thank you, I'll give it back when I get to change skirts." She thought about what pub she wanted to go to. "Well can we go to the pub on main street, it's very fun there." She smiled, her white teeth shine in the darkness, she then added, "Let loose, be a kid again." She giggled and patted his shoulder. "But I think you may have to carry me on your back because if I walk or run anymore, I might pass out." She tried to shake his hand, "The name's Augustine Pomarine Rook, youngest daughter of the Rook family, and you are?" She tried her best to not to sound like an idiot.

William smiled and shook her hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you Ms. Rook. I'm William Pendragon. I'm not of particularly high birth, so there's not much to explain, but I make up for it as an official. I'm the eldest in my family. I have a younger sister, but I don't see her often." He smiled. "Well, anyway," he said. "That's enough about me. I think we could both use a drink." He lifted her into his arms and carried her, making his way to mainstreet.

She nodded surprised by his strength when he picked her up. She kinda felt his muscles as he carried her, playing with them by squeezing them, "Do you inject the serums the government gives you guys into your muscles?" She said looking into his eyes, but then shyly looks down before saying, "D...don't tell anyone that I know about the serums, I read daddy's files when I wasn't supposed to. Augustine's face turns a bright red from shame.

"Well, I could have guessed that." He grinned. "You're quite independent and you think for yourself. I appreciate that. As for the serums, honestly," he told her. "You're not given that much of a choice. I was pretty strong to begin with, but the implications of the serum make one feel almost inhuman in strength. It's always funny when the new guy accidentally breaks a glass, the first time he's injected. It's just such an incredible change..." He trailed off. "I hope I'm not rambling too much. I just am a pretty solitary person, so when I have someone to talk to, I can get kind of wordy."
