please no haters here
If you wish to start one because you enjoy it, I fully support you. My contempt is directed towards those who simply wrote something in a certain manner because it is popular.
Agreed. I write best when I write about a topic I enjoy. (No wonder my school essays turn out bad)

I was actually considering starting one of those pet diary type works a while ago -- I always feel the need to characterize pets that I own on adoptable sites, or owning them just feels kind of lifeless to me. and in general I'm a pretty big fan of writing stories driven by dialogue lines ?
I was thinking of having something along the lines of a series of letters from the MC to her father on her crazy adventures with newfound friends, culminating in the eventual realization by the reader that her father died a long time ago and the MC is using the letters as a coping mechanism and a way to anchor herself to a home that she feels is gone with all her traveling around. I don't know if that would be too heavy for something like that.
I do have something
kind of similar to the format though.
I don't know....I'm not a particular fan of the humor in a lot of pet diaries and it can pretty repetitive, but I used to pull a lot of that stuff a couple years ago and I can't blame people for expressing themselves creatively, whether or not it's something I personally enjoy. I mean as long as they're having fun :,v

I just want to say a big thank you to Zoethian for the advice on my writer's block. Last night I returned to my book, and wrote some in it! It feels so nice to return to it. So thank you bunches, Zoethian.

Also, I changed my username (was The Mangle), so I guess I'll just fill out this form.
Previous Username: The Mangle

You're very welcome Mega <3 I'm glad you returned to your book and I look forward to seeing the day you publish it ;)
Whoa, that's a ton of work Mach (If you don't mind me calling you that) - how long did that actually take you?
@Alex. I think poets still exist; my Writers Group has a few.
Also, question and challenge-thing time because why not, woo

What is your least favourite character to write?
Any self-confident, brave character. I also don't like writing females often, even though I am a girl. I just feel like they always turn out stereotypical.
What do you think of the word 'said'?
I almost never use it. I always use synonyms. Honestly, I barely ever use dialogue at all.
What's your favourite flaw to give one of your characters?
Mental illnesses. ;u;
I enjoy the psychology between the way they think and why.
Quick! You have ten minutes to write a (small) scene about a character called Raymond!
Snowflakes drifted lazily from the grey, bleak sky, and a select few landed on Raymond's hair, becoming entangled and dusting the black surface. It was frigid outside, and steaming puffs were visible in the air as he walked silently along. Raymond wasn't quite sure where he was going, and he wasn't quite sure when he was going to get there. In fact, he wasn't even sure why he had left. Everything in his life had been going amazingly, but for some reason, he was left unsatisfied. There was a gaping hole in his life, even though everything he wanted had lain right before him. He discovered he was a wanderer, and was never meant to remain stuck in one place, in one life. Without wandering, he felt tied down, engaged by chains that he had no hope of ever escaping. So, as of today, he had left. Nothing had been brought with him - not extra clothes, not food, not water. As he continued on throughout the years, he grew older. Raymond reminisced more and more on what he had left behind on that day. He wondered if it still hurt to those he had left. Maybe he should have stayed, learned to settle down. He had seen so many beautiful things in his life of wandering, but not all of it was good. Bad times would hit hard every now and then, shoving him into his feet. But as the days grew cold once again year after year, he found he regretted none of it. Raymond had taken the path less traveled by - and it had made all of the difference.
that was... random?
