(this thread seems pretty dead, lets bring it back! *brings party supplies*)

But that sounds awesome! Surf lifesaving has always seemed cool to me, but I can't actually swim (I know how to and I used to, but can't anymore ^^)

What will you be doing this Australia Day?
Me, most likely lazing around the house, playing some video games with my sister... We don't do anything as a tradition for Australia day, and it is always a bad idea to get all the family together, as we have learned from Christmas day D:

Ah! Surf Lifesaving! I'm a member and I have my bronze and I do patrols! I'm also an active competitor and I do beach sprinting and flags and I've competed in WA state champs and also Aussies when it was in Perth! ^v^

But I'm most probably going to spend Australia Day in bed because it's the day after I come back from Austria xD

I really want to see the Tas Devil in real life so bad, I mean, they're so flippin cute!
For Aussie Day, we'd probably be going to Surfers Paradise at the coast.

Mates, I didn't even know that this board existed.

How are you Aussies going to celebrate our national celebration day?

Uh... I dunno, probably just chill in the pull and get some roo on the barbie, and probably chill with my girlfriend on Skype too. Last year, family, a group of close mates and I went to the local festival to watch the fireworks, which was ace; but the traffic was horrendous.

I'm a bit too old for school, so I ain't got school going on Tuesday. Good luck to all the kiddies that are dressing up in their uniform and slugging it around all day for Tuesday or whichever day your going back.
I just finished at Tafe last year, which was pretty cool; too bad the costs are going up to nearly triple the amount.
I am on mobile.
Current mood: Bachelor’s in psychology and having Aged care induced PTSD? What do you mean?
Least I helped change legislation for the better. Thank you aged care workers. ❤️

I still get another week of holidays, I go back on the 4th of Feb.
Then I have a very special flight over Antarctica on the 16th OuO

My mum works with Tafe. It was lucky she did, it was either Tafe or a Pathway Planner at a high school. They have now cut back an all pathway planners in Tassie so she is quite glad she didn't become one, but is still angry at the Government for cutting them back.
Is it just Tassie that has have Pathway Planners cut? or is it nationwide?

I recently came back from QL, we went up there for Christmas. really hot though >.> It was quite enjoyable and then we come back to fricken' 120 ml of rain which is like a once every 10 years oddity for Tassie!

We had a wild one in our backyard in 2013. It is really rare to see a wild one now unfortunately. where I live is one of the few pockets of disease free devils. There are brilliant wildlife parks here though and Australia Zoo has a great devil breeding program! I hope that the devil population gets back on it's feet soon.

Haha. early start for me >.>

The sls clubs in Queensland are huge!! We drove past a clubhouse and it had pokies XD
Our club doesn't have a clubhouse yet, we are still waiting for the council to grant us some land where there is a disgusting toilet block that noone uses >.>

It either goes towards the clubhouse, residential housing or a shop/business of some sort but the council is taking a long time to decide and our grant money expires soon x.x

My sister would be jealous of that, she goes back Tuesd'y
Ooooooo~ Have fun flying over the great white south ^u^

Pathway planners, they're like Career Advisors right? Crikey, didn't even know they were being cut.
I'm ticked at the Liberal government for a lot of things, but that is like icing on the cake.
Also, Tafe in NSW is gone to the craphouse, Our local Tafe just cut like 20 or so courses because of the lack of people who signed up to do the course, because of the money increase. I don't know how it is down in Tassie, but teachers here are not being treated real well, to the point where our Diploma course ended up having 6 different teaches teaching the one course. Doesn't help that the teachers hours are being cut and the pay is going down a little as well.

But from what you tell me, yeah; I'm glad ya ma didn't become a PP.
    Also, going by this: Link
    Looks like it's nationwide.
