Intro ♛ duction

I am Runningrace! I am a writer with talents I love to put to use. I mean, these paws can do more than just walk. I love cats and am going for a future career in feline biology, live with me and my wack cat comments. Also, I can not sing. at all. xD. But I have to listen to music for writing because it helps me flow better. So, no singing for thee! I have a bunch of good writing ideas but I haven't done anything with them. I rather don't write much, but when I write, I can write page and page of something when I'm in the mood. I have started to take ideas and write, I hope it'll light a flame under my pads and get me into run (No pun intended xD) mode. I hope to see a lot of new stories and poems on my page soon cx I know I have skills, but being a lazy fat cat is not helping to my benefit at allll xD. Thanks for reading this and any of my stories! Feel free to comment or pm me! Thanks and meow you later~!!!♫

One, two, three I have plenty of books for you to see!~
BOOK 1

Genre: Fanfiction - About : Black butler // Tags: Sebastian Michaelis, Ciel Phantomhive, insanity, contract, mirrors, angst, confronting, breaking, arguing, rated, PG13
What will I find in here?
A long drabbly oneshot. Ciel has drawn some conclusions when he is kidnapped in a plan Sebastian and him have made. Ever since it's been haunting him, he can't trust his own butler anymore he believes. So when Sebastian returns after Ciel sends him off on an errand, what will the demonic butler do when he finds Ciel's office in shambles and the boy has lost it, how will he bring back his lord?
-- This is almost complete, yes it hints a relationship of Sebastian and Ciel but its a trust relationship, it may be triggering, read at your own cost, slightly twisted.
Can be found... Pm me for it.

BOOK 2

Genre: Fanstasy/Science fiction - About: Futuristic dogs // Tags: Dogs, Robotic dogs, ruins, imprisoned, hunted
What will I find in here?
A short story I wrote for my assessment in school. Its a twist off of the short 2 part anime 86 and a book called "The Last Book in the Universe." A violent destruction has hit earth years before and humans are left in small cities, ranging only a handful of cities over a large range. At the start, animals were picking people off so a scientist built robotic dogs to protect them, the dogs turned and now rule over the humans. Outside of the city dogs flourish but the robotic dogs are trained to kill regular dogs since humans fear them. Goldie is a golden retriever mix who lives outside the city in the ruins, dobermans are the only dogs allowed in the city, since that's what the robotic dogs are modeled after and they are second in command. So what will Goldie do when she comes across a lone doberman pup, far from the city, and the robotics alarms are crying out in the distance?
-- This is complete, but it is in my notebook at school, will get up sometime during the week.
Can be found.. Pm me.

BOOK 3

Genre: Realistic fiction - About: Horses // Tags: Horses, Palomino, stud farm, bonds, foal, competing, death, sadness, legends, flashbacks, memories
What will I find in here?
A long, in process, novel that revolves around the bond of a girl named Janette Aronette and a horse given to her mother, Bronco. Janette's mother, Nora, has started a stud farm with her horse loving girl. Janette and Bronco have a once in a life relationship as the horse tells the girl about the legend of wild horses. There is more than just riding she learns, when it comes to horses.
-- Chapter 1 and the prologue are done, this is being done for a school event submission.
Can be found.. on this forum

☁ Likes clouds in the sky, these drift past my mind. ☁

IDEA 1 - Mystery/ Historical fiction

A young woman, who is a famous writer, is in a slump. Most of her stories star around mysteries, murders, adventures, and unsolved cases. While reading a murder mystery, she falls asleep, and somehow wounds up in the -noexactdateselectedyet.- old days! She is utterly confused as she wakes up in a completely different time period! She finds a letter in her house, telling her to 'go along and follow the beat.' She is lost but is determined to figure out why she is here. The people aren't even people but ghost still going through the modern life, no one knows she is alive though. A man who supposedly loves "her" invites her to go to a dance, she attends. At the dance there is a murder. Another person approaches her, she can't see his face at all but he tells her simply. "Solve the case and you can go home." Now things have taken an unexpected turn.
IDEA 2 - Warrior cat fanfiction

-- I have the whole character list written out for this one, but I have never really leapt at it.
Shallowpaw is a meek medicine cat of -Forgot the name- clan. Out looking for herbs one day, she runs into a loud, flamboyant apprentice from -Forgot the name.- clan named Duskpaw. The two hit heads at first, but then Shallowpaw gets a prophecy and now the two must work together to solve the mystery as they are both pulled in head first to chaos. A dark forest cat, a loud apprentice, and a meek medicine cat with the risk of a tail twisted, head bumping, and deadly prophecy. What could go wrong?

BOOK THREE
How a Horse can run through Hearts
By Runningrace

This book is dedicated to a friend named Emily, who in her greatest moments shined brighter than gold itself, Missy who was anything but a lady, and Charlene who taught me that I am at fault from only myself.
Prologue.

............The girl looked up, eyes glossy and shining in the photo, she was about 13 years old and had long brunette hair, falling straight over her shoulders and dark brown eyes that gleamed with life. She wore brand new pair of jeans and a grey t-shirt, an oversized tan cowgirl hat tipped backwards on her head. A woman who was much taller stood next to her, squeezing the girl into her side, arm wrapped around her shoulder. Herself looking quite different from the girl, she had shorter blonde curls which licked at her shoulder blades, and bright hazel eyes. She had worn out jeans on and a grey and white plaid shirt neatly tucked it, completing a feel of a pair of 'Western ranch girls.' in the photo with a beautiful summer oak trunk behind them and the green leaves crowning the top of the picture by hanging into it. Beams of gold wavering through the top and glowing.
.............A pale slim hand was wrapped tightly around the wooden frame of the portrait. The person holding the photo was lost completely in thought, studying every detail as slowly as she could so she wouldn't have to look away and trying to sink in everything. Tears rolled down a sticky face, eyes puffy as the sadness burned a void into the woman's mind. Reaching up with her free hand, the woman sniffled and blinked her eyes rapidly, brushing the back of her hand across each side of her cheeks and rubbing her eyes, pulling a strand of brunette hair behind her ear, tucking it away to prevent it sticking to her face. She was chewing at her red bottom lip and sniffling, attempting to cool her frazzled nerves. Her grip loosened on the frame slightly. A slight impression of the carved ridges left red in her hand as her free hand reached up and her pointer finger drifted across the top and down the side of the frame just barely. A sigh stirred the thick laid silence that shrouded and the picture seemed to float out of her hands and set back onto table with other collections of still photoed memories. One caught her eye for a split second, it was the same little girl with brunette hair but this time she was sitting on a fence post, looking straight. In front of her stood a palomino horse, towering over the girl, but at the fence's height they were eye level. Both were looking directly at each other and their eyes seemed to tell a silent story that only the two of them knew. Turning sharply, her hair swung with before laying across her shoulders. Blinking, the unnamed woman straightened and her shoes, black leather western boots, clacked sharply on old wooden boards.
............."I really do miss her and him." The words echoed back to the girl's own ears, no one else there to take her words for her. Shaking her head back and forth, walking forward again in long fast paced steps. A long dark wood table stretched out in front of her, she'd walked herself into the kitchen in a rush and to the table. Reaching out to pull a chair out and seat herself in it, she plopped down and let her arms fall, drooping over one of another as her head lowered down too, forehead resting against her forearm. She always could be found here when in a mood, it gave her memories. The warm peachy color of the walls were always welcoming, as well as the portraits of green fields and bright blue skies that gave a free aspect feeling as they hung on the walls. As a young girl, Janette let a faint smile twitch the corner of her mouth, ah, sweet, sweet memories…

Chapter one: A door left open

.............The air stung with an old, dusty tinge. Particles of ancient air floating around the stacks of cardboard boxes, towering high towards a red wood ceiling. A little girl, who was no taller than about 4 large boxes stacked next to her, was sitting down. Legs neatly folded underneath her small frame. She was occupied with nose dug into a box, hands moving inside and the clanking sound in the box suggested that there was fragile glass items inside. There! A crackly sound shifted against the small tinking and the girl abruptly pulled back huffing. She stood and tilted her chin up, placing each of her petite hands on her hips and straightening out. "That was no way to treat such a lady's prized possessions!", She cried out in a fake voice. She scrunched over in a fit of giggles before reaching down and refolding the box's flaps back into places and pushing it out of the walkway in the canyon of cardboard land. Skipping off towards a pair of glass doors, blue sun dress swaying.
............Curtains of yellowing lace hung across the doors, making everything outside fuzzy but not impossible to see. Brushing her hand under one of the doors, the girl sucked in a sharp breath and bit back a squeal of excitement and contained from bouncing and giggling. A familiar blonde head could be see and even though the young girl had just explored the first cabin rooms so far, she was hoping lunch was ready because she was starving. Hand snatching and twisting the old fashion gold knob on the white frame in a hurry. Bursting out onto the deck and closing the door sharply behind her, feet moving quicker than her mind as always.
............“Nora!”, She cried out, racing to the swinging bench and hands clutching the back, her form pressed against it, luckily Nora had heard her open the doors and she’d stopped swinging. She’d almost fallen asleep anyway in the warm lazy sunlight, summer was always her favorite season of the year. Casting a sideways glance, her hazel eyes met Janette’s brown and the girl’s mouth shut slowly, face glowing a soft pink when she realized she was about to release a world wind of rushed and jumbling words. A grin snuck onto the woman’s face before a chuckle snapped out and she turned away, right arm sweeping to gesture across the deck was a table with glasses of lemonade.
...........Janette’s face brightened as she walked over and picked up a glass of lemonade she assumed was to be hers since the other was half empty. “Thanks Nora! I feel like I was going collapse of thirst and rot into floorboards.” She said with a snort, the new house wasn’t her exact favorite place to be. Why couldn’t she at Emily’s house right now? The two girls could be braiding Gold Star’s mane right now. “Janette.” The voice was soft but firm and Janette giggled, hiding her face by a side curtain of brunette hair. “So…”, she said sincerely, voice trailing as she trying to scramble up a reason to move the conversation on. “Is lunch ready?”
...........Nora’s boring stare lightened as she remembered something, smile broadening on her face. She forgot about it too, the surprise. “Ah yes! Let us go to the kitchen. I made us cheese and crackers with apple and orange slices with it. Shall we go?”, She said, trying not to laugh about how she knew something and the girl didn’t. Standing, she brushed her hair back and picked up her cowboy hat off the bench armrest. Placing it on, she titled it and walked over, picking up her lemonade glass and turning to head to the glass doors to see a vacant spot where Janette had just been and the door left open for her. Rolling her eyes, Nora chuckled to herself and walked inside, closing the door behind her and maneuvering her way through all of the boxes.
............]They sure had a lot of unpacking to be done, but at least the moving guys had listened to her and correctly put each box in their labeled destinations. Janette and her had just finished moving into a cabin which had been built years ago. Of course when she’d seen the price for the ranch of 3.5 acres with a cabin and a barn, she had to have it. As well buying the land was a leap off the group for her, she hadn’t told Janette yet, but they had moved her because she was going to start a stud farm and the barn in back was in good condition. The girl though was not as warmed up to the idea of moving few miles away to where every year from then on she had to move to either her friend Emily’s house or stay with her business savvy aunt Lace.
............Upon entering the kitchen, Janette was seated down and already putting food on her plate, she couldn’t blame her though. Sleeping in was not a smart move on the younger’s choice as she missed the chance for breakfast. “Thanks Nora, this is delicious! Are you going to eat any?”, commented Janette in between bites. Nora shook her head, “I’m still full from breakfast.” That said line made Janette’s face sour as she shot a glare towards her mother.
...........“Oh Janette.”, Nora said with airy words, turning away and starting to open boxes she had already opened most, why not continue in here? Brown eyes looking at her back, the girl paused in devouring lunch. “Yes Nora?”, she asked softly when the woman did not say anything and began to stack colorful plates into cabinets. “I have a surprise for you, it’s in the barn.” The back door creaked and a half eaten platter of fruit, crackers, and cheese were abandoned on the table.

Chapter two: Don't look a gift horse in the mouth!

............Nora slowly peeked into the barn, her blonde head poking from the side of the door. She stepped in slowly, carefully stepping to not make any sound, looking at Janette as she stood reading the long letter she had written that explained everything about why they moved here. The brunette had not even noticed her mother had come in yet until she heard the soft voice drift through the heavy silence, “So Janette?” With a small smile, the teary eyed girl turned around. Her hand tightened around the letter to keep her body from trembling. “Oh mom…”,
.............This was one of those moments that Nora felt complete, her heart swelling and ready to burst from joy. She sniffed as tears of joy rolled down her cheeks too now. Janette rarely called her ‘mom’, or ‘mother’, the girl had always said she liked the way ‘Nora’ sounded so why not say it? Nora always shrugged with an eyebrow raise. It was when the two shared heartfelt moments like this one is when the word ‘mom’ slipped past Janette’s lips always soft and airy.
............Walking towards her daughter, Nora crouched down and brushed some strands of hair off of Janette’s sticky cheek with a chuckle. “Not so bad is it now, how do you feel about being Co-owner of Apple Orchards Stud farm?”, She said with a large and warm grin. “Nora!”, and back to Nora it was. Janette threw her arms around the woman and embraced her tightly, one of her dreams were coming true. “Thank you..”, a soft whisper was said. “Thank you, Thank you..’’, the embrace tightened as Janette trembled. “Thank you Nora! I could never be happy in my life!”, the girl cried out, bursting into full on tears this time as her mother stroked the top of her hair and whispered. “I’m glad it made you happy, I also talked to Emily and she said she’d like to board her horse down here once we get settled in for the summer and stay with us over summer break. Her mother already agreed.”

.............Eyes wide with surprise, Janette broke out into laughter, “You really pulled this all out!” Her arms fell as she sniffed rubbing her eyes and brushing her hair behind her ears. “This means a lot, thank you Nora.” A smile tugged on the girl’s lips as she crouched down, collecting the tear stained letter than had drifted to the ground.
............“So, done with the crying?”, a smooth male voice slid in the air, Nora looked up and Janette gasped with her heading swinging over her shoulder, dad? Her brown eyes grew wide with amazement at what she saw, a palomino horse poked his head out of his stall, meeting her eyes with his own brown. “Well, well, what do we have here?” the male voice was prominent again. The letter fell from her hand a second time. “He just spoke!”, cried Janette.
.............Nora laughed, “His owner told me he was quite chatty. That’s Bronco, Janette, the owner said they couldn’t keep him so she signed his ownership documents over to me, he’s our first stud I’m in contact about some thoroughbreds though already.” The woman glanced down, a look of worry setting on her face as she looked at Janette’s bewildered and almost fearful look. She reached down and shook her daughter’s shoulder slightly getting her own shock when Janette flinched and fell onto her rump, hair hanging in her face. “S-sorry Nora! I just got scared when he..”, that horse talked. He had to have.. “neighed. I didn’t see him. Can I hang out here for a while? Is he ridable?” No, horses only neigh.. They can’t talk. Nora eyed her daughter with an eyebrow raised of confusion. She extended a hand out and helped Janette to her feet. Smoothing the girl’s hair down she pulled Janette into a light embrace and kissed the top of her head. “He’s ridable but I don’t want you riding him just yet. Feel free to brush him off though, I bought all the supplies for brushing, feeding, and what not when I first purchased the ranch and packed them up and the boxes are in the shed.”
.............Pulling back after squirming some, Janette nodded. “Sounds fine to me.. I’ll unpack in there for you.” The girl suggested, she had to spend time with this horse. “Thanks Jam Jar, just come in for dinner and it’ll be fine.” Nora grinned at her daughter and patted her shoulder, turning and tipping her cowboy hat before exiting the barn and crossing back to the house, back door swung out still be the summer breeze.
..............Immediately Janette swung around on her heel and walked down the stable aisle to Bronco’s stall, peering into the stall to see the stallion pawing the dirt and nibbling at hay strands. She sighed and crossed her arms, resting them on the stall door. She rested her chin on her arm and narrowed her eyes, before they fell shut. “I’m going crazy, horses can’t talk, Janette!” The girl’s mind was trying its best to come up with a reasonable answer. Was she hearing ghost? Was this place haunted? Her eyes flew open when a warm breath shrouded over her face. “Of course we can talk, its humans who don’t listen, Jam Jar.”
