This is very generous of you Kiwi, I find it respectful and admirable that you've taken the time to consider what sort of work has gone into each piece of artwork-- and quite frankly, it's very mature. Thank you so much for giving us the option to draw your beautiful characters, and to make some for you as well-- if anything, I think people should be grateful in that you've been considerate enough to offer such a thing as entry prizes. Thanks a bunch, it was so much fun and it was one of my first contests on CS. ^^ <3. ;w;

I am not feeling sorry that I lost, I had 9 exams till now so my art was made on a big rush ( I usually tend to work alot on my drawings)

It's not that I didn't win. ^.^' The frustration is because the contest says that quantity matters. :<

It is clear from the judging of this contest that quantity is negligible. :c This is easily seen due to to all of the winners (barring one) did not do a lot of drawings. Of course one could say, "but all of the artists submitting 4+ entries had low quality art." ^.^' But that is clearly not the case for this contest looking at some of the entries for people submitting many pieces of art. D:

I know I am not the only one who feels this way. Obviously nothing can be changed of things already done, but please for the future, because drawing many pieces of art is actually more of not only a time commitment but also effort. TToTT

Due to the extra effort, the effect of the skewed judging really hurts us artists who went this route. >///<;;
(hurts in the emotional sense, not hurts contest wise)

At least I feel that the contest was presented in a way that I couldn't win despite my efforts, because I was putting effort in the wrong way. Does that make sense. ;_;

I can't seem to find a place where it says that only quantity matters?

All entries will be judged based on quality and quantity.

While the quantity is appealing, she never said that she wasn't going to look at the quality....
All in the end what matters is her opinion and her reasonings for her winners, which some may agree or disagree but isn't important here....
Jelly is an artist herself, she clearly knows her reasons (as she has posted it up for everyone to see)
why she decided the way she did.I just had to say something because that post makes it seem as if the
winners don't deserve their prizes.. and it's quite upsetting.

For further suggestions about the contests, please pm jelly directly so that the winners/other entrants don't get upset as well... ^^;

Just to clear up my wording - I didn't mean to emphasize that " quantity < quality", I have only bolded the "and" to make it more clear after reading your post (I had thought that's what you meant, quantity is a bigger factor in judging, but after rereading multiple times I kind of understand what you are pointing at). I'm just trying to get across that there isn't a certain guideline anyone can follow to compare and contrast how much quality/quantity accounts for and in the end it is up to Jellykiwi to decide that ^^;;

also, i understand what your saying @taptothebeat, but I feel like even if someone submitted 5 pieces of low quality art, and someone submitted one piece of really high quality art (or a design you can't resist, its so hard when its a design you can't even bear to lose) you would go for the high quality one, i'm not saying that the low quality entries are awful ect, just that, its like recieving 100 entries that are hand drawn, and look like they were drawn and colored by a foot (i'm not saying any entries here were like that-- all were lovely) and one entry thats very very good, very very hq, and looks almost realistic. do you see what i'm saying?
