so yes, they are a boy band. but i love them to bits.
however, they ARE NOT PUNK ROCK EITHER.
they will stop being pop when they stop singing about girls and only girls.
just because 5sos have their own instruments, and play them, and have made a cover of green day and blink, (which to most fans they're auto. punk because of that), they aren't. Seriously, all their songs are about a girl. not about a specific girl, but its about a girl anyway.
I personally listen to punk rock and rock the most, and the 1975 and 5sos are the only pop bands i like tbh.
but... if you think about it.... pretty much the majority of music is about a girl/love, and not all their songs are about a girl. what about rejects (though it does mention 'girlfriend', it isn't about a girl), pizza (obviously not about a girl unless the pizza is a female or something), social casualty (though it does mention a girl it isn't about a girl), superhero (though one part is about a girl), tomorrow never dies (doesn't mention a girl once), hearts upon our sleeves (well, kind of) so please rather say "pretty much all their songs" because its not intending ALL of their songs, which is a completely false statement.
also, the other day i was listening to amnesia with my cousin and he asked "but wait-- whos amnesia" and i facepalmed so hard i had a red mark on my face for about 10 mins and i laughed way too hard
and did you hear about that thing fans are doing-- they are thinking of all unfollowing calum on his bday as a joke but i don't find it wuite funny or a good 'present' we love him, and he does everything he can for us, we shouldn't be doing dumb stuff. whoever thought it up is clearly just putting ideas out there and not thinking this through, calum loves us and if he sees tons of people unfollowed he might think he did something wrong and that we hate him, and be sad. I don't want calum sad, so whoevers doing this is clearly not thinking it through and isn't very smart.
lol that cousin thing is funny
I guess I never thought about the song thing correctly, but most of their songs are.
{Disconnected, Wherever you are, don't stop, amnesia, slsp, kiss me kiss me, everything i didn't say, beside you, end up here, long way home, heartbreak girl, English love affair, never be, voodoo doll, 18 in some way, daylight, if you don't know, green light, just saying, good girls} should i go on?I agree with the last part, its not funny and he could actually be offended in a way.
yeah, he also talks too much :>
Its fine, I agree that most are, but really what else are all the songs on the radio about? Love is such a wide open subject, and there is no real way to describe it or explain it, and there are so many ways to interpret it, making it easy to express what love is to yourself in song, you know they usually just express feelings in songs qvq
yes, I don't want him to think everyone dislikes him since calum usually takes that kind of stuff serious, he especially takes his music serious, since he tries hard to write good music and pours his heart out in his songs (like bad breams uvu)
Also, I just hate calling them a boyband since I amagine it as 5 boys who wear bright colors and dance and sing and don't play the music, only sing it, and its all rainbows and happiness, ect (I know thats not what it is, just how I interpret it... for some reason) so I don't like labeling him like that since most people at my school are v v dumb and interpret it similarly, when in reality they don't dance, they play their own music, wear darker colored clothing (even though on the inside and their personalities they are all sunshine and rainbows, it doesn't seem like it on the outside), ect. Thats why uvu and I agree they are slightly a boyband but they aren't completely a boyband.
@nine-after
I agree, but I really dislike it when people make them seem completely different than who they are, like saying "ALL their songs are about JUST girls" is making them seem like my interpretation of a boyband, and jerks (idk why). But saying "Most of their songs is about love/girls" tones it down a bit, if you understand
