1. Yep that's good! I used one until my bows chewed a hole in it

Just keep an eye out for loose threads or holes!
2. Yep, I used this as well. Just make sure you keep an eye out for loose threads, just like the hammocks.
3. Depends on the ingredients. I'm not familiar with this product. If there's corn or alfalfa, then it's a no.
4. Yep, I've used those as well (for both birds and rats). Same rule- watch the threads.
5. I would avoid these, or give in very small amounts due to high sugar and fat.
6. Should be good.
7. Looks good, though I prefer wood over other materials, personally.
8. Same as above.
9. Stuffed animals are really good for rats. If they chew a hole and get to the stuffing, they can choke on it, which would end badly.

-Thanks! Ill check the ingredients; I'm pretty sure I checked it in store and it didn't have any though, I tried to avoid the ones with corn and sunflower seeds and all that jazz. Unfortunately, I could only find an adult rat food which was absolutely perfect, so this one might have a few fillers but I don't believe it has any corn, and it's all organic stuff.
-They were the only treats they had there for rats, i'm planning on just kind of using them as training treats? Maybe only three a day or so? What would you recommend for more healthier treats for next time?
-Hmm, I was wondering about this.. would it be better if I cut a hole in it, took out the stuffing, so they could still cuddle/wrestle with it, but its not as dangerous?

Hello guys! As you may or may not know, my hamster, Teddy, is getting older. I think he turned 2 years in December. I got him from my local Humane Society so there is no guarantee. Is there anything I should be doing for him other then more vitamin filled foods, softer foods, and letting him sleep more? Whenever Teddy is being held he seems full of energy, but as soon as he goes in his ball, he just sits down and goes to sleep... Do you guys have any idea how much longer he may have?
Here is little Teddy when he was closer to a year and a half.

Everyday, it's getting closer...

Some of my rats chew on stuffed toys and some dont. Stuffing-less dog toys work great
You can use gerber (or off brand) baby puffs as treats! Work great.
I feed lab blocks and a homemade diet. Its so hard to find a good pre-made one at the store.
Empty toilet paper tubes make great toys!
You can make hammocks from old washclothes, etc instead of buying them if they are heavy chewers.

Alright, thanks! Im getting them at the end of the week most likely.
The one at the store looked pretty decent, kinda like kibble? I'll have to take a picture next time.

Can you repost the picture? It won't show up for me.
It sounds like he's getting older, but he's not gone yet. :) Just keep a close eye.

If you use picresize.com you need to upload the picture to a website such as Tinypic ^^
