Timberfoot glanced at her out of the corner of his before returning his gaze to the well floor.

"Hold me close, the darkness just lets us see,
Who we are,
I’ve got your life inside of me..."
Lightningfoot closed her eyes, letting her pelt brush against him.

Timberfoot didn't react. Despite the nine lives he had just received, his eyes looked as dull and lifeless as before.

Lightningfoot lowered her head.
"Can you tell me about her, please?"

[Cradily]

"Huh?" The amber glow in Timberfoot's eyes returned. "Who?"

"Foxcloud, please.
My mother."

[Cradily]

"Oh." Timberfoot's voice dropped to little more than a whisper. "You...you're her daughter, you already know everything about her."

[C a s]

"I don't," Lightningfoot said.
"What about before? I never
knew anything about her
before Wolfflight. I only
knew a little about you.
She buried her memories
and wouldn't tell us."

"Wait." Lightningfoot flicked her tail at the other tom. "Braveheart is still sleeping."

After the others had left, Foxcloud padded towards Braveheart. "Are you ready to accept your fate?"

Braveheart nodded "I am. And I will do everything I can with what I learn from Salazar's kin." He almost growled the cat's name.
