Riley shook her head in dismal, another pet was gone and now they must vote again. Riley did not want to vote another innocent pet out this time. As a matter of fact, she didn't want to vote at all, she already felt guilty for voting someone innocent out last time, and she didn't need more guilt to hang on her shoulders. Ah, but alas they did need to find and stop the killer. I have to be brave. Just like those pirates in my favorite stories! Riley thought. Riley shook her head and cleared her thoughts. She carefully listened to each pets reason for voting. Shyama was right, on the night of the first murder there was a loud bang. This bang could not have been made by a bird, but by someone about the same size as Poopkee. There was also something Pixles pointed out, The Red Queen may have tried to swing the votes towards Althea so there could be less of a chance for her to be voted out. Riley had made her mind. "I will place my vote against the Red Queen... I'm sorry. The others do make a point though, there was a loud bang on the night of the first murder that must have been made by someone about the same size as Poopkee. Also, The Red Queen may have swung the votes towards Althea to make her being voted out less likely." Riley stated. All she could do now was hope she had made the right choice.

Ooh, exciting! All votes added, but it's a tough one. There are still three voters who can sway the vote easily and about an hour left to vote! Let's hope we get maximum turnout.

Wow gosh, I didn't even think it had been a day but I totally lost track of time! I came on CS this morning, and looked back at the last narrative to check which time to end, and realised it was meant to end yesterday, haha! Oops! O_o So anyway, it was a close one, but here's the result of the vote...

Red Queen shook her head as the clock struck the final hour.
"This is unbelievable." She protested. "There's no evidence to support this decision!"
"There was no evidence against Althea, either." Frozen Paw interjected. "But if we don't come to some conclusion, we risk the chance of letting this killer walk free." Like before, the others mostly looked away, or idley kicked the dirt or fiddled with their fur. This was a grave decision to be made, and nobody wanted to make it. Ultimately, they had sent Red Queen to her death.
"I won't go, this isn't right. There are yet more of us, those who haven't voted! Let them vote first, and-!"
"There's no time, Red Queen." Frozen Paw's voice was stern, but not rude. She understood the fear and the panic, and the desperation. Red Queen glared at her, and opened her mouth to speak again, but only took a few seconds to decide against more protestation. She sighed, but she did not hang her head. She would walk with Frozen Paw proudly, even if it was the last thing she did.

The witch-mayor returned almost two hours later. The sun had began to set and the sky was painted in beautiful hues, but nobody wanted to pay attention to it after the guilt they felt. Frozen Paw padded to the town square where the others waited, and sat down amongst them.
"Red Queen was innocent." She pronounced clearly. "We need to do better next time."
That was all she said, and the others knew she was disappointed in them.

Sorry, Red Queen [Windfarmer], you lost just by a fraction! >_< Better luck next time!
We wait now for the killer's next victim...

Alright guys, we've got our newest kill!

Everybody was tense that night. A few of the villagers had decided it would be safer to sleep in a friend's house instead of being alone, but there were still others who had convinced themselves that they would fight back if the killer showed up.
Skylar was one such pet, determined not to submit to fear. He sat bolt upright in his home, ears perked to listen for any signs of a killer. It was a windy night, which didn't help; the gales blowing against the windows was a distraction, and a loud one at that. Perhaps, just for a split second, it was enough to catch him off-guard.

The villagers gathered in the town square once again the next morning. Frozen Paw had already announced Skylar's death, as solemn as ever, and the remaining citizens looked down at their feet, or away at nothing, once again sad and shocked that a friend was dead.
"Another vote must be taken. This killer must be stopped." Frozen Paw said clearly. "Please, my friends, I implore you. Think carefully."

Bit of a short story this time I'm afraid, my muse is hiding.
Voting closes when all people have voted, or at 3pm tomorrow (13th January)!

Esra's heart was filled with sadness. Skylar was no longer with them, and Esra couldn't help but feel a twinge of uneasiness at Crispin. She really didn't have any evidence against him, but at this point wouldn't it be better to vote for someone? Narrowing down the list would mean that the killer could be stopped quicker. "My vote this round will be with Crispin again. I just want this killing to stop…" Esra broke off and looked away quickly, so the others wouldn't see her shed a tear.

Sakura made no effort to hide her despair this time. She barely kept from shedding the tears that filled her desperate eyes. Why couldn't they find the right one?! The others had made their decision, and it was wrong. Shyama had indeed made a convincing argument, which again made Sakura regretful. She still held respect for Shyama and that argument had only increased it. But Sakura had thought over Shyama's words and had arguments against her points. "Shyama, yesterday you made a variety of good points for yourself, but I have a few counterarguments. You say the spirits you converse with aren't mavolent or powerful enough to possess you. Perhaps they don't need to. Maybe you have your own reasons to start targeting citizens of our humble town. You say you couldn't have made that sound. Maybe you didn't. Perhaps spirits aided you, or Poopkee knocked an explosive experiment over, or threw something at you. It didn't necessarily have to do with the kill. So once again, Shyama, my vote goes to you." Sakura mumbled the last part, paws trembling, heart hoping fiercely she was the right one, but also fearing that once more, they would lose an innocent. She quite seriously didn't think she could continue voting if once more she was wrong, and it would be even worse if she misdirected others.

Pixels stayed still for a few minutes, simply thinking. She had already voted away two innocents, and she feared that the same would happen this time. She heard a quiet noise and looked over, seeing her little pink friend, Flower. Flower was a rather close friend of hers, although no one else can see her. She talked with Flower for a while before finally speaking up. "There's not really anymore evidence than when we started. But,I must agree with Sakura. Shyama, you could have easily had spirits aid you. I would know. I do have some as friends, after all, although they're not the same kind." Pixels paused for a minute before continuing, slightly quieter. "I'm sincerely sorry if you're innocent, but I vote for Shyama."

Sneaky hesitantly made his way back to the town square, head down and tail tucked between his legs. Yes, he was a coward, but he accepted that fact. This situation was utterly terrifying, and until the murderer had been found, there would be no good night's rest. Finally seating himself towards the outside of the small crowd of animals, he looked around at who was left. He still believed that Esra and Crispin's little argument was ridiculous... really, everything was the same as before... if you forgot about the people that had died since then.

Sneaky took a deep breath and sighed. "Like before, I gotta vote for Shyama..." His voice was relatively quiet and small, indicating his fear. It was more internal now, seeing as panicking outwardly wouldn't help him any. "I'm sorry you're being used as a possibly innocent scapegoat, but until we find who's really been doing this..." he attempted to hold back tears. "People are just going to keep on dying until we stop it, or it becomes too late."
