"So Alex" Kai asked, "How have you been enjoying our wonderful academy?" he asked in a sarcastic tone. "So' he asked, "scholarship or pay?" Kai liked to get a feel for the people he met, and so far he was liking this guy, but he was just a naturally curious person and sometimes his questions could offend people, not that he meant to of course. He, himself was on a scholarship.

Quinn Edan ● 17 ● Cyclone ● Male

"Yeah" he said, trying not to look nervous, "I keep losing my key to my house, and decided it may be time to learn to actually get into my house instead of waiting for my mum" he lied. He nodded as the girl introduced herself. "I'm Quinn, Quinn Edan" he said, flashing a brief smile, "So your last name is a poison and you can pick locks?" he asked an eyebrow raised, "that's pretty shady, If you ask me" though he said it in an almost comical tone.

Danielle Reed :: Unfortunately Mundane

There were only a few sentences that made Danny groan in dread and annoyance. One of them was "Next week will be Inspection Week", another was "Can you cover for me?", but the one that had her grinding her teeth at the moment was "Please leave a message after the tone".

B E E P

"Kaden Elliot Lange, I swear to god when I get my hands on you, you are going to regret the day you were dropped into my home. It is pouring rain, I am wet, I am tired, and I am very very late for my first day back at school." Dan slammed the front doors of the school wide open as she stormed in, swearing into her phone as she stood dripping wet in the office waiting to be written up for tardiness. "I have been kind, I have treated you like a brother, but this is absolutely ridiculous. You left me at home! You took the one good bike we have, and you didn't even bother to see where I was before leaving! For your information, by the way, I was asleep. Because that stupid storm last night knocked out the power, and messed up everybodies alarm clocks. Oh but you have an organic alarm clock! Your little friend got you up right on time! But no. I slept in 'til quarter after, booked it to get dressed, to discover there's no bus fare, the good bike is missing, and I'm forced to walk to school in the rain. Alone." A disappointed secretary handed her a pink slip, which she shoved in her pocket as she stormed out of the office and back into the hall. "And now you won't even answer your damn phone! Where the hell are you? You are in serious trouble when I see you, Lange. Take that as a warning."

Danny shoved her phone into her back pocket forcefully, stomping down the hall to find her first class. She didn't even have time to get to her new locker and drop her stuff off, so she continued on, dripping a trail of watery rage towards room A113. Approaching the class, she took a deep breath and opened the door. There was nothing she loved more than the glare of the teacher and the blank judgmental stares of her new peers on her first day. "Sorry I'm late." She grumbled, marching towards an empty seat at the back of the class. She flung her guitar bag off of her shoulder and pushed it under the desk, flicking her jacket off as she sat down. Dan didn't even take a moment to scan the room and see if she was scheduled with any of her friends, she just let her head fall onto the desk with a loud thunk as the teacher rambled on about curriculum structure and schedule. So far, this was a horrible start to the new year.

"Well maybe I'm a shady person." Ness said in a serious tone but winked to show she was just kidding. Well, not really. She was pretty shady. Then again, she was a supervillian so it was kind of her job. Adjusting her beanie on her head, she added. "It's nice to meet you Quinn now I know someone at this school other than my brother."

Blake rolled his eyes at the boys sarcasm before he was asked the next question. "My 'parents' are paying." He said putting air quotes around the word parents. He would never consider them parents. They hardly paid attention to the twins and had enrolled then in this elite academy so they seemed like good parents. "Honestly, I don't get why they had to put us in some fancy school."

"Well" he said, "Richardson's has an excellent program for 'nurturing' young minds" he said, right hand over his heart. Laughing he snapped out of faked seriousness and stretched up and back, his arms over the back of his chair, in a relaxed posture. "I'm scholarship myself, unlike my other friends" he said, a small smile on his face as he talked about his friends. "They're good people, they're many good people here" he said. Kai had noticed the boys slight nervousness and since he was new, that was understandable, so he tried to reassure the boy. Alex didn't seem to have any other friends, so Kai was trying to help Alex make some.

Quinn Edan ● 17 ● Cyclone ● Male

Quinn offered a smile, "likewise" he said. "So you who's your brother? he asked curious. Quinn knew for a fact that he hadn't seen this girl around before, and not any boy who looked like her either, unless they didn't look alike? Quinn was a smart person, and he noticed things about people, and to him, something seemed a little off about this girl, but he couldn't put his finger on it.

Amy watched as the girl strode into class, about 10 minutes late. The girl walked straight to the back and plonked down to the left of herself. She carried a guitar, an acoustic by the look of it, but she could be wrong, she wasn't too much into music, but her older brother was. Her brother always brought his band mates over and they would spend hours strumming their guitars and smashing their drums in a very loud manner, but they weren't half bad. She watched as the neck of the guitar fell back from it's position resting against the desk leg. Just before it could hit the ground, Amy stuck out her foot, catching the neck of the guitar. "Um" she mumbled, not being the bravest of people, she didn't know what to say to the girl.

Althaia Hilton ● 17 ● Black Bird ● Female

Althaia watched the small bird fly around the room mumbling, "a fire bird". Her eyes followed the bird until in landed back in Aidah's hand, "A Phoenix" she said, looking Aidah right in the eyes, a huge smile on her face. Althaia looked from Aidah to Kaden, eyes shinying, "bird squad go!" she said pumping her fist in the air and jumping onto the kitchen bench. "The phoenix, the mocking bird and the black bird are fending off the evil that has now entered my house!" She said excitedly. Jumping off the table, Althaia pointed in the direction of the stairs, "lets go!". As she pointed, her finger started to wobble, almost vibrating. She started to jump from foot to foot and her breathing and heart rate increased. "Not again" she sighed. When transforming her body mass produced Adrenalin for when she was flying, running around, etc. When she didn't use it, she had to get rid of it somehow.

Althaia started to make little circles on the spot, "so?" she asked as nonchalantly as possible, her words starting to speed up and slur together, "let's gogetthesepeople!"

Vanessa looked around the room for a moment before finding him. Turning back to Quinn, she breathed in sharply as pain shot through her ribs. Stupid gang. If she hadn't already beat them up, she would make them pay but oh well. "He is over there." She said after recovering and pointing towards her raven-haired twin. "He's talking to that guy with blonde hair. Nice to see he is making friends." Ness was glad it was just her ribs and that she didn't flicker between shadow and human form but she hoped the male hadn't noticed her pain.

Alex smiled slightly at this. He liked making friends but was too shy to normally approach people on his own. This Kai guy didn't seem to bad though and he didn't think he would lie to him about his friends. "I'm sure they are." He told the other male casually, flipping some of his jet black hair out of his eyes. It was quite long and the fringe often got into his eyes, but he liked it. This schools didn't seem to be too bad.

Danielle Reed :: Horribly Ordinary

Dan snapped her head to the right as a shy mousy voice mumbled at her. "What." She scowled at the girl, eyeing her carefully. She looked horribly... nerdy. A glace told her enough to know that this chick was socially awkward and obviously preferred her books to a social life. It took only a moment longer for Dan to notice the girl holding her guitar case up with her foot. Oh, that's why shes trying to talk to me or something. She leaned over to pick the case up with a huff. "It's fine, y'know. Things hardy it wont break. Its made for combat it can take a few bumps." She slid the case under her desk more and let it fall with a hollow thud. Realizing the girl probably thought she was carrying a guitar in her guitar case, which wouldn't be a horrible assumption, albeit wrong, Dan bent over again to open the case a crack and let the girl see inside. "Its a bow. Not a guitar." A sleek black recurve bow sat inside, a quiver tucked along beside the un-stringed weapon. "I can't just carry a bow around NYC though, cops don't like that, so I just shove all my stuff in a guitar case." Danny explained, closing it back up again. She hesitated, "Thanks though." It was kind of this girl to have caught it, assuming it was probably an expensive instrument. In technical terms, it was, just, not that kind of instrument.

A phoenix. The idea struck Aidah like the spark she was so adept at conjuring. The idea of a phoenix was to be reborn, to start again from scratch. That's what Aidah needed. Yeah, I could be the Phoenix, Aidah thought to herself. I like that. "Yeah, I'm the phoenix and--Thaia, are you alright?" Aidah watched as the other girl danced from foot to foot, her words coming out in short bursts. Aidah was glad that they had accepted her strange mutation, but they needed to move, and fast.

"Okay, I think they're still downstairs. When They get up here, we need to implement your picture idea, whatever that may be, and somehow pull it off as normal." Aidah hadn't been sure what Thaia had been getting at with the whole 'Kaden changing into a picture' thing, but it was pretty much their last hope. If they all started to act like weirdos, accidental or not, they wouldn't be able to pull off the 'Thaia was sick' story. The more Aidah thought about it, the more she realized that the three of them didn't really have an excuse. Aidah didn't like "winging" it, per say, but with each tense minute, it looked like that was going to be their best option.

With each second they didn't have a plan, it seemed that the three of them each became a little more nervous. Sure, they had each just learned something amazing about the others, but Aidah had no idea about her new friends' story, and she was sure that it was tragic. They certainly didn't need someone coming in and destroying that trust that was so fragilely set in the space of about an hour. Whoever was coming didn't seem to care much about others, if they had the guts to break into someone's apartment, however.

"Oh guys, shh, test," Katie said, sliding the quiz across her desk and completing the questions in a matter of seconds. Katie usually seemed to others a total airhead, but she was quite intelligent, and math was by far her best class. Getting up and stretching for a moment, Katie slid her paper across the professor's desk and walked back, playing with her phone while the others finished. Her screensaver was a picture of her cat Jubilee, of course, and she admired the kitty for a moment before posting a snap to her story highlighting the ease of the pop quiz.

boring class today, read the caption. Making sure it was perfectly imperfect before sliding her iPhone 6 back into her bag, Katie yawned and pulled out her book. It was a leather bound edition of Dante's Inferno. Katie may be socially in the loop, but she was well-educated as well, and liked to further her learning even outside of class work.
