Crispin was somewhat saddened by Cecil's death - not to mention what it meant for the rest of them - but the voting had to continue if they wanted to find the killer. He looked around at the crowd of pets; there wasn't much more to guess upon than before, but he supposed that a killer would never leave incriminating evidence in the path of other's. He'd have to guess at what the rest of them were thinking if he wanted to help them at all.
Crispin's eyes came to the last one to vote (or rather, not vote) in the previous round, Esra. "I vote for Esra," he said, "because she did not vote before."
After all, this voting was for the greater good, so maybe the fact that Esra did not vote showed where her loyalties lay.

Pixels sighed, deeply troubled. She knows she has to vote, and has a better idea of who could be the killer. She looked around at the slightly smaller crowd of pets before hesitantly speaking. "To me, it seems Red Queen could be the killer. She could have directed all the votes at Althea so there would be less chance for her to be voted for." Pixels said, her voice wavering slightly. "I'm sorry if you're innocent, but I vote for Red Queen."

Sakura had been silent. She was ashamed of herself for going with the thoughts of everyone else when she hadn't truly thought it was Althea. She had simply gone with it because she was clueless. It was her duty to be neutral and thoughtful, yet she had been hasty and fearful! She also grieved for Cecil and didn't want to speak first, out of respect for him. However, Esra's words of the day before rang in her ears when Crispin voted for her. How had she known Althea was innocent, unless...? Red Queen had directed votes towards Althea, but Sakura felt that it couldn't be her. Yet Shyama had been the one to find Cecil's body, and the next one after Red Queen to vote for Althea yesterday. And she had seemed awfully calm in the face of death. But she faced spirits every day! Sakura thought despairingly. That was no evidence... but was there any better? "I truly don't wish to vote again. However, it must be done so we can find this mavolent pet," said Sakura sorrowfully. "Therefore... my vote goes to... Shyama. Do not think this is because you are unusual. I am fairly unusual too, am I not? I even respect you... but you are powerful. You can fly and communicate with spirits- who might have been able to tell you who it was it it wasn't you. You found the body of Cecil before all of us-on the roof. I imagine not many pets could reach that roof. You helped advance the vote on Althea. Perhaps the spirits could help you with murder, even. Friend, please forgive me if I'm wrong... but, again, my vote is... you." She almost choked on the words. She did respect Shyama. And what if she was wrong- again? Sakura stood and paced. How could she keep accusing people and being wrong? Surely she would choke on guilt? What to do?! Sakura suddenly realized the grass aroud her paws had started growing and twining around her paws at her agitation. She took a deep breath and willed the grass back into the ground, after whispering an apology to it in the rustling language of plants. Sakura decided with a sigh that after this vote, she'd sleep in her tree, for the comfort of its prescence and just in case someone tried to harm it, although she also decided she would do so anyway even if the murderer was caught.

I really like what personalities have added to this game, it makes the reasoning a lot more in-depth and keeps the story interesting. Although obviously the killer is chosen at random and may not be who you think, it's good that the personalities make you think in the first place. I think I may have to do a similar thing next time, too.

Esra turned sharply to Crispin, hurt in her eyes. "So you're voting for me for being fair and doing a justice to this Godforsaken town? Is that it, Crispin? I've never heard of something so unjust. With no evidence, why would I vote for anyone? If I were the killer, don't you think I would have wanted to vote for someone, to get rid of more people that could figure me out?" Esra paused, and turned away, her fur bristling slightly. "I vote for Crispin this round, since not voting will make me the enemy."

Sneaky had never been more afraid in his life. His neighbors were dying, and he was scared, and he wanted to leave, but that would only put suspicion on him, and then they would hunt him down... panic flashed briefly in his eyes as his wild imagination got the best of him. Despite his short spike of bravery before, he was terrified and nothing was going to calm him down. He considered the three voted for with what little sense he had left. Red Queen made a bit of logical sense, but it could have been an accident- didn't it always happen like that in those mystery games? They'd blame the first one to peg the blame on the now dead guy. Crispin and Esra's votes sounded like the childish games, so he brushed them off. That left one.

"I... Uh..." Sneaky desperately attempted to gather up what little confidence he had left. "I honestly don't know what to say. I'm terrified for my friends, and I'm afraid I'm going to die, and I just want this to be a terrible nightmare, but..." he stared at the ground. "I know it's not. Three of our friends have died now, and I think we're all really scared. And we might vote for people who are completely innocent 'cause we don't know what to do." He looked back up. "However... I'm gonna vote for Shyama. I just don't know what to do or what to think anymore, and... I'm really sorry."He gave her a really apologetic and scared look before picking up his incomplete map and walking to one of the last uncharted areas. Sneaky had decided that if there was anything he had to do before he died, he had to finish his map.

All these deaths and fear... Red wasn't the kind to fear anyone easily. Like always, Red stood inside the crowd, tall and cold. There had been three deaths. But the death of Althea was the one that bothered her the most. Normally, Red would be careless about such, but she felt something unusual... Was this the thing called guilt? Red could say that she haven't liked this new feeling at all. Though like always, Red would not show what she felt. It wasn't a suitable behaviour for her to panic...

Than again, they had to vote for someone. Red glanced around the crowd. She had no reason to suspect anyone and feelings would not work. She listened silently and carefully as votes were cast. The queen of hearts dog was unsure but she had to make up her mind. Crispin's vote was rather suspicious in her opinion. Blaming the feline for not voting was unfair. She also wished that she haven't voted last round, that way at least one innocent would still be alive. "I believe Crispin voting against Esra could mean something... I suspect him, so I shall vote for him... I'm sorry." Red Queen spoke with a a colder voice. The sooner this was done, the sooner they will be able to sleep without fear. She could not show any sympathy or emotion towards anyone during the voting. It was her own rule.

Shyama had been quiet and seemingly unemotional - Understandable, considering her connections to the afterlife. She found herself wondering to herself about whether the lost citizens' spirits would one day be among the ones she knew - She'd never met the spirit of someone she'd known in life. For a time she'd considered that it may perhaps be of assistance... Though, thinking harder about it, she supposed he would have survived had he been aware of the murderer with him. Only when multiple voices spoke her name did she snap out of her daydreaming and speak up.

"Citizens of Smoothieville, I am unsure of who this killer is. My friends have been unable to assist in finding the criminal thus far, and I fear we may fail altogether if this does not stop soon. Three of us have already been lost - And while I could theoretically meet them again, I'd rather not see any more innocent animals lose their lives before their time has come." She paused. "I know, however, that the killer is not myself. Aside from the statement I made yesterday about my spirit friends being impish pranksters at worst, certainly not strong enough to manipulate me to truly harming someone, there is another point to bring up, I believe - The original murder took place with a bang, quite literally. I am far from a normal bird, certainly, but I am a bird nonetheless - One light in weight and capable of flight. As you can see, I am unharmed, at least thus far - I would imagine a noise loud enough to wake most of the village would be nearly impossible to accomplish without injury to any avian smaller than something like an eagle or other large bird of prey - Likely hard to cause for any other smaller animals as well." She grew quiet, glancing about the group. "As before, however, I understand and respect your decisions should you continue to vote for me - Cecil was found dead on the roof, after all, and being capable of flight, it would naturally make me a suspect." Beneath her mane of feathers, Shyama closed her eyes, as if thinking. "I too am unsure who to vote for... But for now, I will vote for Red Queen. Our pixelated friend has a point - It is possible you may have hoped to swing the votes against Althea so that you may continue to survive. You have my sincere apologies if you are voted out and proven not to be the murderer, but I am afraid votes must be cast, and you are both large enough to cause such a noise without injury and capable of swinging votes against the innocent." She sighed, two words going through her mind as she fell silent once more. I'm sorry.

With that, Shyama's vote was cast for the Red Queen.
