The Great Mafia Game - GAME 4 OPEN [MULTI-FANDOM] [6/20]

Esra padded into the town square and looked around at all of the Smoothians. She shook her head slowly. They were all voting for Althea without any clear evidence… How unfair! Maybe this incident was a one time thing, and it wouldn't happen again. Holding onto that hope, Esra spoke. "I'm not voting for anyone this round. I'd rather not let an innocent take the blame for something they haven't done." Esra was one to always speak her mind, even if she was going against what everyone else was doing this time. The young she-cat didn't mind Althea, even though her personality was a little secretive and different from her own.

Looks like a fairly unanimous vote, and it's good to see almost every player is active, unlike last time! :L This promises to be a fun game.
Anyway, the villagers have made their decision. Let's see what happens next...

Althea trembled slightly, though she was trying not to show it. She swallowed, hard.
"Come on, you don't honestly think it could be me...?" She said, a little more scared-sounding than she'd hoped.
"I'm afraid the people have spoken, Althea." Frozen Paw said, a sad tone to her voice. "Come now, the process is painless, I assure you. But we must get it done."
"I'm not going until I know what's going to happen!" Althea protested. Outbursts such as this were not necessarily in her nature, but the pack mentality shown by the other animals that morning was unusual as well. Oh, how quickly civility crumbles when suspicion has sown it's seeds.
"I will tell you on the way. If you'll trust me enough to come with me." There was a long pause. Althea realised, eventually, that there was nothing she could do to fight it, and walked away beside Frozen Paw, hanging her head. The other pets couldn't watch, too ashamed by their choice and their actions, though desperate times had called for desperate measures.

Frozen Paw returned in but an hour, a grave expression on her face.
"Althea was not the killer, her soul has not been stained by murder. We could start a vote again, but..." She looked up at the sky, the sun now setting. The voting, and the spell to test Althea, had all come to taking up most of the day. Many of the pets were hungry, not able to focus on their needs until the panic and anxiety had died down.
"Get your meals, try and stay calm. I will do what I can tonight to consult the spirits, and keep a watchful eye on you all. Please make sure you lock your doors and windows tonight."

So, Althea [puddssoul] was out, but was NOT the killer! That means it's time for another round. As soon as the killer gets back to me with their next victim, the game shall progress...!

Alright, we've got a kill! Back up people, this needs to be documented...

The dark night that followed the two deaths before had left many feeling terrified in their own homes. Some had put on their brave face, locking their doors and leaving their lights on, but acting like it didn't bother them, like there was nothing to worry about. Then there was Cecil.

The reaper stood on his roof where the winter wind blew even colder, but he kept a close eye on his surroundings. It wasn't unlike him to think deeply, but he had never expected something like this to happen, and he had to admit to being caught off-guard. It was hard, somehow, to try and reason who was behind this. He was usually pretty good at seeing the corrupt, but something had prevented him thus far from uncovering the killer, and it would cost the village more lives if he didn't do something to fix it.
He was so deep in thought, so concerned with himself, that he never noticed the killer on the roof behind him.

The next morning, another meeting was called in the town square. Frozen Paw did a head count, and everyone was accounted for but Cecil.
"Has anybody heard from him?" Frozen Paw asked.
"No." Said Buster. "Not since the square yesterday."
"I haven't heard him either." Said Pixels.
"Oh no..." Esra muttered to herself. "Maybe he's...?"
"Don't worry, everyone, calm down." Frozen Paw said loudly, so as to be heard over the chatter. "Perhaps he just slept in or something, I'm sure he-" She was cut off when Shyama, who had disappeared silently in the crowd's panic, landed back amongst the people, a grave look in her dark eyes - or what little of them could be seen.
"He's on his roof. I believe him to be dead. The killer has struck again."

After a while, Frozen Paw returned to the group. She had cordoned off Cecil's house and removed his body from the roof, as respectfully as she could, with Shyama's help. Shaking her head, Frozen Paw turned to the group.
"I had hoped this would be a one-off, that it was a terrible misunderstanding, but it's worse than I thought. There is a serial killer amongst us, and our only hope is, once again, to vote."

Oooh, sorry Cecil Vi Brittania [TekkamanSeraphim], looks like you're dead! D:
Voting will end, as usual, when all players have voted, or at 4pm tomorrow (9th January)!

Haha, I usually don't mind people asking for the murderer to PM them - I'm not sure if they ever do anyway. More likely they don't because of the fear of the other players being told.
But to be honest if everyone suddenly started voting for the killer, I'd know somebody had told. ;P Not sure what I'd do then though, since the game would have been rigged. D: Maybe start again? Swap the killer? Who knows.
Either way! Can't wait for people to start voting, this game has proved the best so far.
