How many gallons is your tank? (I have two.)

Number and Type of fish in tank One Comb Tail Betta, Male. Name: Wolfgang.

I just lost a brand new 6-8 month old Angelfish to Angelfish Virus last night. I'm intending to get a new one from Petland, and I know to wait at least two weeks before putting another fish in the tank, but I'd like to know, if my next sweetie gets it, what should I do? I really don't want to destroy it, 'cause that would mean 3 deaths inside of a month. Also, I'd like to know if anyone else has information on how to treat dropsy? I have meds for it, and I know the epsom salts help some, but by the time my fish show signs of having it, I've run out of time. If there's more I could be doing, please tell me, 'cause I lost a ten year old Red Veil Tail Goldfish to this Dec. 28th.

How many fish tanks do you have: one
Size of your tank: 2.5 gallon
Types of fish that you have: Veiltail Betta (male)
Your fishs' names: Alex
How long have you had your fish?: since December 26th. :)
Other information about your fish: Well, He's fairly shy and it seems like he's pretty smart. He looks best in RL, because his colors are very vibrant. He's blue, purple, or bluish green, depending on how the light hits him.

I am a little unsure of Alex, he's the fist fish I've have in 3 years.
I clean His tank once a week, is that enough?

Dropsy is not exactly a disease, but a symptom of a variety of diseases. Once dropsy is prevalent, there's not much to be done. However, healthy fish rarely get dropsy. As long as you quarantine your fish before placing them in the tank and keep them healthy, you're doing the best you can.

I got the snail! Unfortunately, there's no zucchini in the house. :( Anyways, he's so cute! I once saw his little tongue. By the way, it there anything besides zucchini or algae wafers that he can eat?

Try feeding him some cucumber, lettuce, squash, or carrot c: Snails aren't picky.

Thank you! I normally have the fish on its own, (I try to have one in a tank at a time, though now and then I'll get a second fish) so I was a little stressed when Garak started getting Dropsy.
Just out of question, what is it a symptom of? 'Cause all the websites I've gone to, and my uncle (Who's had a lot more fish than I have) told me about the epsom salt treatment, and they all said it was a disease. If I knew what it could be a symptom of, it might make it easier for me to save my fish. Losing two fish inside of a week is not my idea of a good start to the year.
Also, I'd really like to get an angelfish, but I'm wondering if my tank conditions are okay. I know they like to dig, but I have glass rocks instead of sand for my substrate. I also have a Dalek and 3 silk plants in there with a Stingray 15 filter, a thermometer to keep an eye on the water (which right now stands at 26 degrees Celsius), aquarium salt, and of course, two 15 watt light bulbs to keep it lit, since the tank's in the darkest corner of my room. Are these conditions okay for angelfish? I noticed the current's a little strong, and I need to ask my Grandpa to help me change the flow rate of the filter if I can (If I can't I'll be getting a new, less powerful filter) so that the poor baby isn't getting knocked about. I know my fish showed symptoms of Angelfish Virus last night when he died, but I can't help but wonder if I somehow contributed to that death. I had Pisces test my water, and they said that it all checked out fine, and that the fish was just sick... Which means the rest of the fish in the tank are gonna die too, considering how contagious the virus is, but I still can't help but wonder.

I found this very helpful.

When I bought him he was the size of a small fingernail, now he's larger than a ping-pong ball :) For extra food he gets boiled zucchini, plus he loves to eat those tiny red worms I give to my fish about once a week.

PS! My tank is 33 gallons and he's the only snail.

If love to see a photo of him

Sorry for the late reply. Here's an older picture of him with a panda cory and neon tetra looking on.
