Basically Willow convinced Serena that Alex and/or Riann could potentially die in the lab, which freaked her out enough to get her to think up a plan to break into the labs. She figured Alex knew where the exit to the free world was and that he'd be able to help Riann and Willow escape, but Serena wasn't going to go because she wanted to stay to help other hybrids escape too. So Serena got captured and beat up by guards, but Alex ran after her instead of going with Riann and Willow. So now Riann and Willow are running through the halls looking for a way out while Alex is talking to Serena in a containment cell C:

Willow and Riann could run into Grace if Redsong's okay with that. :3

What if, during the break-in, TANDEM is re-called to the lab to fight the hybrids off. I feel like in such a situation, the bet between two scientists would be off.

Plus, they aren't really doing anything anyways.
