So. Today I added two bettas to my sorority of five and all is fine. I was a bit worried when I got home because the ones I purchased are about three times the size of my little girls and two and a half Times of my "big" girls. I also decided to try something new. I added an assortment of ten danios (6 zebra, 2 rosy pearl, 2 leopard.) they all get along great! Although the danios don't school like they do at the shop. I guess that could be because they are in a 46 gallon with ten of them as opposed to a 10 gal with 30 or so.
But there is something that worries me. Half of my girls from before I made my purchase today are quite plump and it worries me. If I take a picture could you guys tell me if it's normal?

Fish 1.

Fish 2.

Fish 3.

Fish 3.

How are they acting? Fish one looks fine, but the others seem a bit bloated. Are their scales flared out like a pinecone? Bloating is a symptom of dropsy. Also, are they dominant? More dominant bettas will probably be the first to eat and probably eat the other betta's food.

No scales are sticking out on any of my fish... I think icsaw a little egg on fish 2 in the pic and fish one is the most dominant and fish 3 is the second least as she is tied for smallest with my beautiful small white one. Do you think maybe I'm overfeeding? But then wouldn't all the fish be bloated?
EDIT: Come to think of it one of my penguin tetras that I've had in there sine before the sorority when it was a platy and Molly tank, looks a little plump too... But that's the only other one bc my lone male platy has always been plump since had matured a while back... I think he's 1 or two years old right now actually.... I know he's at least one

No, not necessarily. Certain fish would get more food if you were overfeeding (usually the fastest or most dominant). I would seperate them at feeding time and feed them individually. Also, clean up any leftover food. It's possible they are eating it from the bottom. Maybe even fast the fattest females. Maybe try to see if they're eggbound? It's unlikely, but if the fasting doesn't work, that's a possibility.

So after i said i have one tank....yeah i went and took advantage of the $1 per gallon special at Petco. Got a 29 gallon and a Tetra Whisper 40i. Black gravel, blue accent "stones" (the flat marbles), two hidy places...and two new comets. Both weird looking in a good way. Leo is a shy white little guy with a seriously deep vivid red head. Burger is orange and white but looks like orange splatter instead of uniform patches and I love it. I conditioned and put in starter bacteria and after 9 hours i put in the new fish but im not adding my older fish until im 1000% sure its ready for them.
Question: why is burger chasing Leo? Leo is about two and a half inches so i dont think its 3yrs/sexually mature. There is plenty of room so why is Burger being so pushy?
Okay as im typing this they just rammed into each other...like Leo was sick of Burger's ish and.....yeah now Leo is taking a stand....are they asserting dominace? Cuz they are going to have a rude wake up call when my six 1/2 inch female goes in....shes boss and her little buddy is even meaner than she is, i honestly think her companion is a male with they way they interact.

I can't. My cories wouldn't get any food then. But all the dominant ones are healthy looking save the most dominant
