Name:
Cecilia

Gender:
Male

Why he/she where the crown:
Cecilia wears this crown because this crown as a reminder to himself. This reminder is that he may never return home and what he did so long ago, was wrong. Though you can not see it, the crown it etched with a spell which will one day form words on the crown. What these words are, no one knows, not even Cecilia. And no one knows when, or how the spell will become active. All that is known is that it will remind Cecilia of what he did and why he should change his ways.

Should I be sorry?:
Cecilia stared at the poison in his pouch. He had enough. He had enough of the world blaming him. Of calling him the 'Fault of The Land'. But he would end it today.
Cecilia growled as memories flashed in his blind eyes. Memories of the villagers beating him down for being blind. Of his parents ignoring him and adoring his siblings.
Cecilia hissed in anger as he began letting out chirping noises to let him find it way around.
Finally, the blind Chima Lou found what he was looking for. The kitchen of the Palace. Cecilia grinned to himself as he chirped some more upon entering the kitchen. No one was inside. Perfect.
Cecilia narrowly avoided the hard surfaces of the tables and made his way over to a tray. It was a silver tray which had 4, tall goblets sitting on top of it. Inside each goblet was a drink. In the 2 largest ones there was wine. In the 2 smaller ones there was cranberry juice.
The drinks, Cecilia knew full well, were for his parents and 2 siblings.
Cecilia chuckled as he picked up the vial of potion from his pouch. He would teach them. He would teach ALL OF THEM that he may be blind, but he was not helpless. He would teach them his pain!
Cecilia chuckled darkly as he tipped a bit of the poison in each goblet. He hoped it didn't make their drinks sour but hoped it would make them die instead.
After finishing his job, Cecilia left the kitchen just as the servants began filing in again.
" Sir Cecilia " a servant then said to Cecilia. The dark coloured Chima Lou then turned to look at the servant, chirping to know where they were.
" Yes? " Cecilia asked, a fake happy tone in his voice.
" You parents wish to see you...they are in the Grand Hall " the servant said before walking away. Cecilia snorted. The servants would bow to his parents or siblings, but not to him. Because even the servants thought he was dirt.
Cecilia began heading over to the Grand Hall, emitting chirps to find his way around the palace.
Upon arriving at the Grand Hall, Cecilia's parents were sitting on their thrones. They were happily before Cecilia coughed, letting them know he was there.
Their heads turned to face him and he knew they would be frowning. But actually, oblivious to the blind boy, they were smiling at him.
" Cecilia! " His mother cooed at her eldest son. " Me and your father have come to a decision...we think th- "
" You've had enough of me " Cecilia interrupted. " That you want me to go away! "
Cecilia's mother frowned. " Actually, no " she corrected him, turning to her husband for help.
" Cecilia, we have decided to make you the heir " his father said, grinning at his son.
Cecilia stood there, a look of shock on his face. " The...heir? But I'm blind! You...you ignore me! The villagers HATE ME! "
His father chuckled. " And that's why! Your Cecilia, know the world differently from everyone else. You have a grasp on it no other Chima Lou can get! You are skilled at navigating, writing and even art! " his father complemented. " And we only ignored you because you always seemed so capable of doing things on your own! You never asked us for help and you always manged things on your own! "
Cecilia stood there shocked. His parents...wanted him to be the heir...and they ignored him...because they thought he was capable of doing things on his own?
His mother climbed down from her throne and walked over to her son. She slipped off her neckless, the one she adored so much. And put it over Cecilia's head. His father then also stepped down, producing a small, golden crown from behind his throne. He then walked over and placed that on Cecilia's head.
" That crown is magic Cecilia " his father then commented. " It...teaches you in a way, I don't know what it will teach you...but I hope you listen to it "
At that, his parents returned to their thrones.
Suddenly, before Cecilia had a chance to reply, his younger siblings ran in, giggling their heads off. " Muma! Papa! They're bringing our drinks in! Mrs Servant Teena asked us to tell yyoouu! " they said in harmony as they ran around their parents thrones.
Cecilia frowned in reply to his siblings. He felt strange. He felt like he should warn them of what he did...but at the same time he was still angry with them.
The servant came in with the tray clutched in their mouth. The 4 goblets sitting on top as the liquid inside wobbled slightly.
The servant laid the tray down on a table close to the thrones. " M'lady, M'lord " the servant said, bowing.
Cecilia's siblings squealed happily and ran over to the tray to grab their goblets full of cranberry juice. And poison.
Cecilia's parents smiled as their reached over to grasp their goblets full of wine. And poison.
" Wait..." Cecilia croaked in an in-audible voice.
He knew his parents were raising the goblets to their mouths. He knew his siblings had already begun drinking.
Suddenly it all happened. Clanging sounds echoed through out the hall as the goblets dropped to the ground. Coughing and spluttering were heard as his family attempted to rip their bodies of the poison.
" I'm...sorry? " Cecilia croaked out, making it sound like a question. He wasn't sure if he was sorry. He didn't know what was going on in his head.
Cecilia couldn't listen to the noises of his dying family any more. He turned around and sprinted out of the hall. He ran to his room and grabbed what he needed. He then ran out of the palace. He ran away from the village. He ran far away.
And he would never return. Ever.

The Runnerup goes to Champion.

The Required bit
Name: Imperial

Why he/she where the crown: Imperial wears the crown, not for royalty nor for fun and games. When he was born, he was born blind. The beautiful boy would never see the world or all the beauty it beheld. His mother, no matter how he was. Be it blind or not. Was her baby. Her pride and joy. She would love Imperial no matter what. He was given the crown by his mother. Told to wear it, because to her, she was a prince. No real royalty would compare to her baby boy. Years later he found his mother had passed. He hadn't worn the crown for a long time once he aged past a wonderful childhood. He found where it had been kept, brushing off the dust from where it was stored ,retrieving it and placing it on his head. Refusing to take it off.
1 extra (optional):
Imperial lay by his mother's belly. Her warm body curled protectively around him. A little gold crown sat crookedly upon his head. Everything was peaceful he could hear small birds singing their songs and the rustle of the wind over the leaves. A patch of sunlight made it's way through the gaps of leaves and branches, shining down on the two.

Crack!

A branch had been broken sending Imperial's mother to her feet grabbing him by the scruff and running. Ducking low hanging branches until she came across a fallen tree, hollow now from long years of rot. "I'll be back just stay here and stay quiet my little prince," she spoke gently adjusting the crown upon his head until it was worn without a tilt before she ran. No longer careful of the noise she made as she ran. And there, trembling and hiding in a fearful silence, Imperial sat. For hours he would be there, left to wait. Then hours turned into a day. A day into two. Two into three. It continued until Imperial soon realized his mother had left him.

All he knew was that he'd been lied to and the blind little Chima Lou was all alone now with no mother or family. He would believe his mother had left him there that day for many years until one day he would learn that his mother had tired to return two days later after out running an unknown threat, but upon returning something had happened to her. An illness that she'd been suffering for a long time attacked fatally that day. Leaving her unable to tell anyone where her little Imperial Prince was.

Your Runnerup will be made soon!
Thank you everyone for trying out!
