Moonsong bounded back to where the clan was sheltering, dropping the squirrel onto the makeshift fresh-kill pile.

Clifftail padded to Foxcloud, "Here they are. They were playing a prank on me." He couldn't help but smile a little.

"I was the corpse!" Herringpaw grinned.

"I'm not even going to ask," Foxcloud shook her head, then smiled at Clifftail. "Thanks."

Clifftail felt his heart lift a little at Foxcloud's smile. "You're welcome, and I think its better that you don't." He chuckled lightly.

"Hey, what's with Clifftail, I've never seen him smile," Herringpaw whispered so only Beechpaw could hear.

"Yes, I know better than too when someone says they're a corpse," she laughed.

Clifftail tilted his head, smiling, "Smart." He turned towards Copperberry and acknowledged her with a dip of his head. "Pardon me, Copperberry. Sorry about interruptingyou two's conversation."

Foxcloud nodded to Copperberry.

"And I was the killer!" Seabreeze added with a proud smile before trotting off happily.

"I know right?" Beechpaw snickered in Herringpaw's ear. "You think maybe he's in loooove?" She loudened her voice a little so that Clifftail could hear.

Copperberry's gaze flickered between Foxcloud and Clifftail. "Oh, it's okay!" she assured him after a few seconds. "Our conversation was pretty much over anyway. I'll leave you two be." With that, she left the two alone and went to greet Moonsong. "Hey, Moonsong." She nodded at the squirrel her Clanmate had caught. "Nice catch!"

Clifftail shook his head at the two apprentices, "What's wrong with being friendly?" He dipped his head to Copperberry.

Herringpaw couldn't help but burst out into laughter.
