Swankit shook her head slowly at Riversplash's question. "I just woke up and noticed she was gone, and found her like this.." The young kit trailed off, unable to take her eyes off the horrible gash that marred Sunkit's small throat. She glanced up as Owlwing followed her out, looking at the queen with grief in her green eyes. Sunkit had been one of her closer friends after her parents deaths, and now here she was, dead as well.

Sprucepaw woke up and heard a commotion, He headed out of the apprentices' den to see cats crowded near the nursery. He headed over, to see Sunkit, eyes lifeless and a deep cut that must of been caused by the cat who had killed her. He said, fearing for his own life,"Did... did we choose wrong? Or did Flameburst sneak back in?" He smelled the air, but Flameburst's scent was faint, too much for him to have come back last night. They must have been wrong.

Snowpaw streched in her nest.
She was just about to walk out the den, when she smelt the salty tang of blood.
That's strange.... Unless.. Oh no!
She ran out into the camp, stopping when she saw the bloodstained body of a kit, lying lifeless in the dust.
'No! Not sunkit!'

Lionkit then woke up to yowling, and he started shaking in fear. "No no no." He mewed covering his ears. He then wanted to comfort Swankit and Sunkit. As he came out he saw his best friend laying there dead. "Sunkit!" He screeched running to her body.

[explosive mind]

Riverslpash nodded solemnly. "StarClan why? Have we done wrong? Please tell us, innocent cats do not deserve to be killed like this!" He yowled, his eyes clouded with grief. "We were wrong. Flameburst was innocent. We must get it right this time" he yowled again.

Lionkit then looked up a Riversplash. "Why is StarClan doing this."

[explosive mind]

"Lionkit, you are young, yet I must be honest to you. Nobody knows why StarClan is punishing us like this" He said, crouching down to the level of the kit. "Perhaps the murderer will spare you.." He thought gravely, and gave the kit and gentle lick on the ear. "You, Lionkit, will make a great warrior, I am sure of it. As will the rest of the kits, as would Sunkit.." He said, voice turning to a whisper towards the end.
