It was a chilly night, cats had gone to bed early in fear of the murderer. There was one guard, high alert for any movement. A cat padded from the shadows. "Hello, shall I take over?" the cat said. The guard, before yawning and padding into the warriors den. Sunkit emerged from the nursery, chasing a mossball. She looked up at the cat, smiling. "Hey! Do you wan-" Her words were cut short as the murderer slit her throat neatly with their claws. "Night, night. It was too late to play" they growled, before padding into the shadows again.

Swankit opened one eye sleepily, feeling a cool draft if air hitting her left flank. Hadn't Sunkit been sleeping there earlier? Stretching, Swankit sat up and poked her head outside the nursery, not seeing many other cats around.
It was the lack of a crowd that allowed her to see a small from crumpled in a pool of blood. Sunkit. Swankit's eyes widened, and she stumbled back, the salty tang of blood suddenly hitting the roof of her mouth.

Riversplash had been peacefully sleeping when he awoke, still shocked by the death of his good friend, Arrowfang. He got up shakily to a strong scent filling his nose. Blood. He dashed out, hoping for the best, that someone had just hurt themselves. "No.." he mumbled, seeing Swankit staring at a small, limp body. He padded over. "No.." he mumbled again. "Did you see anything?" He asked the kit quietly. "Sunkit was brave and loyal. Too young to die" he mumbled.

Because Swankit moved Owlwing woke up. "... huh?" She jawned. "Hey, Swankit, some cats want to sleep, look, even Sunkit is.... Sun...kit..? Where is she?" Anxiouse Owlwing stand up and poked her head outside the Queens den like Swankit has done it before. Her breath caught as she saw the motionless kit. "Sunkit! ... she... Sunkit is death!"
