Clifftail stole a glance at Foxcloud humbly before looking away.

(I feel so bad for Herringpaw. ;u; *hugs him*)

"Kay." Beechpaw seemed satisfied with this. "Now look dead! Seabreeze, put your mouth next to Herringpaw's neck so it looks like you just bit him. Make sure to get some blood on your muzzle too!"

Seabreeze did as he was told.

"Good!" Beechpaw nodded. She did the same, but then realized that if they were both the "killers", neither of them would be able to fetch Clifftail and bring him to Herringpaw's "corpse" because they would have to be standing over it. She looked around for another cat that she could ask for help. (Anyone want their cat in on the scare-Clifftail-into-thinking-Seabreeze-and-Beechpaw-just-killed-Herringpaw plan? :b)

"Clifftail!" Foxcloud called to the tom, trotting over. "I believe a few apprentices are out of camp, aren't they; and where is Seabreeze? Would you happen to know where they're at?"

Clifftail realized that the annoying presence of the tom wasn't there. No wonder I hadn't been bothered yet... I knew it was too peaceful. "Hey Foxcloud, and I'm not sure. Should I go find them?" Clifftail replied.

"That would be helpful." Foxcloud dipped her head.

Clifftail followed the scents of them, his nose crinkling at the sharp smell of blood. He spotted them from a few tail lengths away. "Hey, what're you doing?"

Seabreeze, who was hunched over with his muzzle buried in Herringpaw's neck fur, looked up at the sound of Clifftail's voice. "Oh, hi, Clifftail!" he said in the most light-hearted voice he could muster. "We're just...uh...having a snack! Mmm-mmm!" He licked the blood from his muzzle.

Beechpaw hopped to her paws. "We were hungry, we're sick of fish, and Herringpaw was being annoying, so..." She glanced down at her friend's limp body with a smirk.
