No but seriously this is a great way to discuss a lot of the inconsistencies in the Warriors books. Plus this is incredibly well written and witty, so that doesn't hurt either. I noticed many of the things mentioned when I was reading, and I'm glad to see it wasn't just me overreacting to the writing style or being nit picky or whatever xD Also, to comment on the whole creepy Spottedleaf situation, it really weirded me out when Greypaw commented on how pretty she was...because I'm quite sure she's his aunt?? Then again I think Greystripe's parents were siblings anyway...so...I know they're cats and everything but still. You'd think the Erin's would try to prevent that from happening anyway. Alright that was just my two cents carry on

I wondered about editors too, BTW. ^^

I remember reading the first few Ga'Hoole books a few years back and not liking them an awful lot, but I don't remember why. I'll have to pick them up again sometime.

I don't think the whole 'Leaders can't eat before talking to StarClan' stays around, sadly. Or at the very least I don't remember it, then again I only read the wiki to catch up with the series after Po3. But let's not drag the conversation back there, eheh.

I'm eager to see how you react to Scourge. I had a few issues with him, personally, but I guess we'll see that when we reach the final book.

But hey, that was fun to read. Especially the interaction with Lion and Gray [Grey, in my case]. I just noticed something about Spottedleaf's description in the allegiances. She is a 'distinctively spotted tortoiseshell' or something like that. Seriously, those are called distinct tortoiseshells. Kids know more about cats than Hunter does. Can't wait till next chapter, with the random rat attack and all.

If there is one, let me know. I would love for an accidental reference.

I use grey, but as his name is spelt Gray-, I adhere to that in this instance.

And you and me both, brother. Sister. Sib. Whatever. I'm quite hyped for the stupidity of this book.

Symbolic Dreams Of Symboligy seem to play a pretty big role in this series.

Oopsie, even more spoilers! Oh well, the dialoge here is completely obvious.

Besides, it's not like Lionheart was very interesting*.

Man, Erin Hunter is REALLY inconsistent about cats smelling things. One second Firepaw can't smell his friend sneaking up on him, the next second he can smell a random rogue and know that she's angry. You should start counting all the times that Erin Hunter contradicts themselves when it comes to cats smelling things**'

Okay, this complaint is probably kind of late, but I really have to wonder why in the *bleep* Bluestar made TIGERSTAR Ravenpaw's mentor. Shouldn't she have picked someone who was less aggresive?

Oh wait, this was written by Erin Hunter. Moving on!.

TBH If I were Bluestar, I would have made Tigerstar stay outside. Like you said, he's the warrior.

*and by "very interesting" i mean "interesting at all"

**then again, erin hunter is always contradicting themselves.

I could make a drinking game out of how many times Hunter contradicts themselves. I'd be dead 10 chapters in.

The Thunderpath is specifically named a few chapters back, when he and Graypaw are messing around near it. I think this is just an instance where Hunter worded it to sound like he had forgotten what a Thunderpath is.

Hello and welcome!

Honestly, I don't expect any book to be completely flawless. But I do expect there to be some level of competence. I mean, let's take a look here:

-Five people are involved in writing, editing, and general concept.
-They create a series in which names are two words, along with a hierarchy and mythology.
-The books' timelines are incredibly straightforward, which makes keeping track of things pretty easy.
-The world itself isn't exactly made up - this takes place in England, so all that would be required is some research about cats and the surrounding area.
-Five people are involved in this.
-The cast is huge and the problems faced are such a natural part of life that the story and characters could pretty much write themselves if given the room.
-The cast is also made up of animals that are very familiar to us, so any questions about biology and abilities are answered so thoroughly all over the web that the ground work is practically done for them.
-Five.
-People.
-Are involved in this.

From the way this is written, you would assume that just one person was writing, editing, etc. They don't even make sure that the cats getting together aren't related. That's not mentioning plotholes, forgettable characters, a complete loss of ideas that make any sense from the second series onwards (FIVE PEOPLE), and just general nonsense in a series that started off semi-realistically.

Now, don't get me wrong. I can appreciate the Warriors series regardless. It's a great concept and has built a huge and fun community that everyone I've ever known my age has been in at some point. But I cannot forgive the fact that FIVE PEOPLE are writing this story and can't get their act together.

TBH I like the concept of Warriors a lot but I don't like the books themselves a whole lot. Like the concept is great and good for roleplaying or fanfiction and stuff but the books themselves are meh.
