I hold the box in my cold hands, wondering what's inside. I found it behind a small cafe, where I slept last night. I am trying to get away from home- my parents are evil, I don't want anything to do with them. Could this be a sign of something? Or maybe it's just a creaky old box that means nothing. I turn it around to the bottom, a small label reads "Use wisely. Open when in need of help. Never let anyone know you have this."
What the heck? What does this mean? I can't think, the icy wind is freezing myself. I stand up from the cold concrete, and walk to the other side of the building. The wind isn't coming this way, the nice brick wall blocks it off. It feels so warm, I take a moment to warm up my hands and I put my long dark hair over my ears. It feels wonderful. Too bad I have to get on the move again, I can't stay at one spot too long.
I pick up my small bag, throw it over my shoulder by the strap and hold the box in my hand. It's almost hard to keep it in my grip, my hands are so frozen.
Later, I find a small alleyway. It looks safe, and it is very warm. I went in slowly, and hid behind a small pile of what looked like construction supplies. I open the box, I need help. I am freezing to death, and don't know how I'll make it through the night. When I look inside the small box, I see nothing. I'm confused, but I start to shake around the box. I don't know why I'm doing it, it's just a habit to do something like that if I can't find something.
Suddenly, a glowing comes from the box. I look at it, interesting. It's almost spitting off an invisible fog. I wonder, is it only visible to me? I bend my knees closer to myself, and set the box in front of myself. I watch as the box glows, and little spots start to appear. Maybe I'm just hallucinating it, there's no way this is real. The glowing starts to hurt my eyes, so I look away for a second.
It doesn't seem to be going away any time soon, and I don't knwo why. Finally, I reach my hand in. I need to know. I jolt my open palm in, hoping to grab something. Instead of hitting the bottom of the box, my arm flails forward. I was now on my si-
