Beechpaw stopped several fox-lengths away from Clifftail. "Okay, Herringpaw, you have to lie down here with your legs splayed out, tongue sticking out, and eyes closed. Just look...you know, dead."

Herringpaw sighed, he had to be a corpse, but he obeyed. The apprentice slumped to the ground in a limp fashion and splayed out his paws. "Is this okay?'

[Cradily]

"Yeah, that's good. The only thing is...hmm..." She examined him closely. "There's no blood. There needs to be blood."

Herringpaw's eyes widened, "Why can't we say I died from deathberries?"

"Because we have to trick Clifftail into thinking we killed you!" she pointed out. "Just let me bite you real quick."

Herringpaw gave a hiss, bracing himself.

Beechpaw smirked. "It won't hurt a bit." She bent over to give the tom a sharp nip on the back of his neck, and smeared the little bit of blood that trickled down from it all over his fur. "Can you bite your tongue?" she asked, not wanting to do so herself. "There needs to be blood coming from your mouth." (This is one messed up friendship...xD)

Seabreeze watched this unfold with an uncomfortable expression on his face. He wasn't sure he should really be letting apprentices make each other, or make themselves, bleed, but he wasn't about to back out now. Besides, it was only a little bit of blood.
