(Sorry for being so inactive, I was away and did not have wifi)
Queen Lauriel

The elven Queen thought on her husband's words, remembering the very destructive attack that had come seemingly out of nowhere, unprovoked. It had cost many lives and destroyed crops and buildings that had just recently been repaired. Her large, bright blue eyes moved back to her husband, and she said, her voice calm," In times past, I would have not thought it wise to attack a small and easily overcome village in revenge, but after that attack.." She shook her head slightly, almost as if the memory was too strong to bear. "...the humans must be shown that we are ready and able to go to war. If we do this, it will send a clear message that we are to be left alone, and we may gain important information, as well. I propose that we strike soon, no later than two weeks from now, and take a reasonably strong force, whoever can be spared from protecting this village."

Sophia - post 3.

Postby pahlen » Wed Dec 31, 2014 9:41 am

      SOPHIA - HUMAN WARRIOR
Tagged: Raoden,Elwen, jason. age: twenty three. powers: no powers. weapon: bow and arrow.

Sophia's eyes carefully watched Raoden as he commanded the guard, and flinching with each arrow she helplessly watched her comrades fall. Marching back to the captain when he made his way to her, Sophia's eyes were wide with trepidation. Why was he not telling them to shoot or simply fall back? They were loosing men with each breath but the archer remained silent, Raoden was the captain for a reason and for that, she trusted him. Letting out a shaky breath, her hands curling round the bow, Sophia looked to the forest and swept her eyes over the scape to locate any intruder. The warrior was sure the captain would tell her what to do in these next few moments and when he did, all would resolve itself. But Sophia could not have prepared herself for those next words and following his line of sight, her eyes then landed of the source of this disruption. With Raoden's hand on her arm, it gave her that protection, that comfort she needed. But whilst there was an enemy on their grounds - such time for compassion could not be permitted. "Leave this to me" she uttered, lifting her weapon with predator like eyes but as she did, to her surprise Raoden spoke the opposite Sophia glanced to him - unsure of this idea. "Capture her, sir... but surely that would be a death wish!?" she exclaimed still looking to the elf. However, when he continued speaking and their eyes met, Sophia came to a new realization. She could be the source of information - perhaps even the key to finding common ground and nodding in response, she smiled lightly. "I see your aim now, sir. It will not be an easy task but I and many others are ready for this" she assured.

When Raoden gestured her to follow, with a grin and almost defeated sigh she followed, moving down the stone stairs and towards the she elf. Watching the captain with intent when he signaled her, Sophia knew exactly what to do. Charging towards the she elf, with fast reflexes she grabbed her shoulders and when Jason dragged the elf backwards, she made sure that the intruder went in that direction. From the speed of the moment, with adrenaline rushing through her veins, Sophia ignored the elf's resistance and when sure the captain could hold her for those brief moments, she quickly took the rope from Jason with a thankful glance to his face and tied it round the elf's body, tying it will fumbling hands. When secure, she let out a tired breath. Why is everything easier said then done? "It's all done sir, she's not going to move from here." Regaining her full height, Sophia looked to the elf with a masked face before nodding in Jason's direction as a hello. However, there was a relentless growling from outside and the archer eyed the entrance of the tent warily. Looking to Raoden, Sophia took one step closer. "I'll manage out side, I'm sure you two will be fine with this elf" and abruptly, giving the intruder a side glance she stepped outside and made her way to the wolf.

❀--Aria Mier
elf ❀ healer ❀ water ❀ Faelyn
Following Faelyn to the stables, Aria considered whether or not to take part. She was a highly-regarded healer, and could provide emergent medical care if either the elf or the wolf was injured, and she might be able to prevent some death in the heat of battle. But needless to say, Aria was not a fighter. She glanced to the saddle bag on the shelf next to the horse, where her glass-like sword lírë waited, a hold-over from her warrior training. She prayed silently that she would not need to use it. Walking to her own snow-white mare Aeglos, Aria made up her mind. She would follow the party, but at a distance. Nodding to Faelyn and Rowan, Aria said quickly, "I will have your back, my friend." She swung herself onto Aeglos, brushing her coat softly. She mare was gentle-hearted, and like her rider, did not like fast-paced action. The two trotted out of Cymbiir, following the rescue party and watching with trepidation.

The forest seemed quiet and peaceful, but Aria could almost feel the tension in the air as the group of elves galloped towards the Verbroné stronghold. The stronghold. This could not end well, for any of them. The attack was premature, and the opposing side most definitely had the advantage, both in surrounding and in numbers. A party of merely ten would hardly be able to execute a rescue without some sort of element of surprise. Aria reminded herself that she was there simply for help, and that she wouldn't need to use the sword that clinked like a babbling brook in the bag next to her hip.

The group galloped in formation beside a twisting river, one of the major landmarks across the kingdom of Cymbiir. Aria had always admired the grace with which the water flowed, and hoped that its healing power would not be needed on this day. This ill-fated day. Aria placed a lot of faith in signs from nature and premonitions; she knew many saw this sort of symbolistic belief as silly or childish, but Aria found truth in the signs of the earth. Though the winds were relatively low, the water itself was churning, white and frothy. In a state of unrest, much like the land it shaped, it made Aria feel nervous and jumpy. Once again she felt the presence of lírë in her bag, and swallowed, her hands shaking and her long blonde hair whirling in cascades behind her as Aeglos moved through the forest.

➸--Raoden Marx
human ➸ captain of the guard ➸ Sophia; Jason; Elwen
Raoden surveyed Sophia's knot work proudly, panting slightly. "Thank you, Sophia. Try to stay safe; the canine looked like a dire wolf--not something to be taken lightly. I don't want to lose my best archer to anything less than the king of Cymbiir," he said, returning her smile. Turning his attention back to the elf, Raoden refastened his cloak and looked to Jason. Bows and swords lines the tables and racks around the tent, many of the similar to what Raoden's own warriors carried. Many of them knew that if they wanted to get a good weapon, they had to go to Jason Haigh, otherwise they'd find themselves in the middle of a fight with a damaged pommel or snapped bowstring. "Jason, have you ever seen an elf before?" he asked, pacing the tent. He wasn't exactly sure where to start with the she-elf, but he knew he'd probably need Jason's help at some point.

Turning to the elf, he realized just how beautiful she was. Her features arched gracefully, and her emerald green eyes were alight with the fire of war. Even her voice, firing away words he couldn't understand was enchanting in a way, lilting in an accent of mystical lands far away. Watching the elf, Raoden felt bad for what he and his kind had done to these people. Yes, they had returned the violence, today was an example of that, but hadn't the humans started it? Raoden considered carefully what to say. "I don't want to hurt you," he said softly, meeting the elf's eyes. "But it seems that you would like to hurt me. Can I at least know your name? Mine is Raoden, and this Jason." He gestured to the weapon smith behind him, nodding reassuringly.

    Artillator Jason Haigh
    Human--28 years old--No magic
    Currently;;in the human stronghold--Tagged;;Raoden, Elwen

Jason felt uncomfortable in this sort of situation. He was just a simple weapons-maker, nothing like a soldier. Sure, he was okay with a sword and very good with a bow, he just didn't really do well with hurting others. Hearing Raoden's question, he turned to the captain.

"Yes, sir," Jason replied. "It was only once, though, when I was younger." He observed the elf with curiosity, wondering what it was like to be one of them. He didn't feel too proud of tying the human-like creature up, but he also didn't really want to get hurt himself.

Jason looked her over, wondering whether he should do something or what. He knelt near the knight captain, still watching the elf. This was one of the oddest situations he had ever been in, and honestly he, for the first time in a while, didn't know what to do.

ELWEN LUNA
elven warrior - 50+ - Nature magic
near the human stronghold - with a wolf

"For the record," She struggled, trying to untangle herself and et at least comfortable. She met his eyes, fiery resistance glassing them "I am already dead, not by you, but by the elven kingdom. I would love it if I was dead already, but Drago wouldn't. Don't touch him!" She snapped at the girl, trying to help the wolf. "This wasn't my idea! This was his!" Her head gestured towards the wolf, and she sarcastically looked up at them and rolled her eyes. "See this is how it works," Her voice was full of sarcasm "I get taken by the guard, my lead guard yells at me a lot, I get taken, probably still being ignored, and I get much punishment. The longer I'm here, the better." She stopped, and growled slightly, and rolled her eyes while looking up "That wolf, will listen to me, and me only... We can avoid anything else, if... And only if" Nothing was gentle about her tone. "If your archer doesn't attack him, I'll probably be able to get him over here, without further death." The blonde hair dropped over her shoulders and hung down as she looked at the ground, then back up, straightening her back and standing still. Looking over the boys in front of her, she sighed. "Elwen, Elwen Luna... Elven warrior... The works, that dire wolf, Drago. His family was killed by human hunters, I'm just trying to help avenge my... My only real family... He's stubborn and reluctant to listen, and plagued by regret and sorrow." She shook her head as she looked up at them, sorrow in her eyes as well. She gulped down her feelings and Stomped the floor, her weight going down. "I'd rather not be in a war, and having a forced hand... Not so great." Her voice lessened.

Hoof beats, Drago and Elwen both looked up "Oh..." Her eyes widened, then she sighed "Kill me, kill me now!" Her voice was urgent, and she frantically looked around as she closed her eyes, and bit her lip. The wolf dropped his sword and backed away, near the tent and away from the girl, lowering his head in fear. Looking back at Elwen, he whimpered, sinking low and trying to fend off the guards who taunted and poked him. He knew the trouble, and so did Elwen. They both looked up at the man who called himself 'Raoden'. The wolf looked at the archer as he lowered himself, and snapped his jaws "That's submission, now will you leave him be?!" Her voice cracked a little, and she sighed "Drago, heel." The wolf lied down and put his head on his paws, and she looked up at the captain and cocked her head up at him, shooting a sarcastic smile "enough's enough?" She said, tilting her head lightly again. The wolf now rolled over on his stomach with much reluctance, and starred at them all with anger and confidence. Baring his teeth, he snorted at her words, chuckling at her as she pleaded to be taken somewhere where the elves wouldn't find her, yet he understood, and didn't want to get in much more trouble.

Levos smiled at his Queen, devilishly delighted at her agreement to his proposal. The elven king moved forward and kissed his wife quickly on the forehead before turning his back to her walking back to his throne. "You are dismissed my love, I will get my warriors onto the situation as soon as possible," and with that he made his way, past his throne into a large balcony area. He had heard the warriors shouting below, using his Sight he closed his eyes and followed the captain of the guard to were she was going. He flew past them and found himself located in a cell of some sort. The human stronghold. Elwen. And her large dire wolf. Levos snarled and smashed his hand on the balcony. She had gotten herself captured. Stupid, Stupid girl! Levos looked back to see his guards watching him confused, he ignored them gripping the railing of his marble balcony. His long silvery blonde hair fell over his shoulders as he stared out at the forest blankly. He didn't even realize the long vines climbing up the already nature covered building, large thorns stuck out from them as they climbed along the railing like snakes. Levos opened his eyes and looked to what he had done and smiled simply and took a step back.

Faelyn held up her hand slowing the group to a steady trot, she knew Aria was following she could her power simmering away as they passed the winding river she felt her fire die down a bit. The sight of water made her slightly uneasy for some reason but she ignored the feeling as best she could as her troops and their horses touched the flat ground of the human touched land. They were on top of a hill, with plentiful trees and land below them. Channel that rage into your weapon she thought thinking back to what Aria told her. "Step back," she hissed talking to her warriors.

The large group moved all the way back leaving her on the top of the hill. Faelyn with outstretched hands she stood on the saddle of her muscular stallion, he barely reacted when large jets of fire shot from the arms of Faelyn and erupted the human made forest into flames. Faelyn lowered her arms, they were still pulsing with fire as she sat back down onto her horse she used her mind to control the fire to surround the kingdom.

Grabbing the reins she cried forth throwing her alit arm forward shooting a fireball towards the kingdom. The warriors behind her whooped and cheered as they pushed their horses into a gallop following behind their wildfire of a leader; Faelyn. Faelyn snarled and got into jockey position, letting go of the reins she held her arms horizontal to her side separating the fire so that her men and women could get through without being burnt. Human archers pointed their arrows at them and Faelyn laughed as they shot fire arrows at her, she didn't even feel them when they hit her, the flames of the arrows only made her stronger.

Rowan neighed as Faelyn set the scrambling guards on fire as they tried to lift the drawbridge, Faelyn leapt of her horse pulling her bow from behind her and in mid air shot three arrows at the same time to the human men on her right. She landed and hissed as she watched the great powers of each and every elf erupted in a wild frenzy of nature, sky, water and ice attacked the humans and their petty kingdom. Faelyn was amazed at each of her warriors skill as she fought alongside them.

A man came to Faelyn's left and she crouched down and with the flick of her wrist a kinfe was in the man's belly, another crying to her right and back and Faelyn hissed using her silver and wooden woven bow to stab the man behind her before she punched the man to her right sending him flying across the courtyard. Faelyn quickly ran, leaving a trail of fire as she did to a post. She leapt on top of it surveying the area quickly, she saw the horses had escaped and were waiting outside the burning forest but she couldn't see the prison where they were holding the elf.

Faelyn snarled as she felt a knife stab into her leg, she turned to see the pale male, and could see the magic flowing from his hands. "Spellcasters!" she shouted loudly to everyone, pulliing the kinfe out of her side and setting herself alight she faced the man with bloodthirsty grin before leaping down to him so he could greet his fate.

Queen Lauriel

Lauriel gave a last glance to her husband before turning away from the thrones and walking quickly out of the room. Her silvery elven made gown trailed slightly on the floor as she walked into the long hallway, deep in thought on the impending battle. Her keen ears heard slight footsteps approaching, so she looked up and saw her daughter, Arahaelil, coming from the direction of the library. "Arahaelil! Come, I need to speak with you." She knew that she needed to tell her daughter of the impending battle, but knew that she would not like what she was about to tell her to do.

Sophia - post 4.

Postby pahlen » Thu Jan 01, 2015 1:57 am

      SOPHIA - HUMAN WARRIOR
Tagged: Raoden,Elwen, jason. age: twenty three. powers: no powers. weapon: bow and arrow.

Raoden's words ran through her head, happy that he returned the smile, as she continued to advance towards the wolf, the dire wolf. With her bow and arrow as her only comfort Sophia felt the dawn of the sun would do little to calm her nerves. And she was right. The wolf was much larger than expected and it crossed her mind at how powerful the elves must be to control such a creature. But with a dozen human comrades surrounding the dire wolf - it wasn't going to stop attacking, unless they stopped attacking... no harm had come to the elf and so no harm would come to the wolf. Clapping her hands, she got her warriors attention and then took a few steps forwards, her eyes dark and authoritative. "Stop!" she cried, holding her hands up to gain their utter most attention. Looking to each of her comrade individually, she then continued slowly. "Seize your fire! The elf and the wolf are under our protection - if anyone dares to harms to the wolf, you'll have to answer to me." Eyeing the wolf for a moment, a sense of unease passing through her body, she looked back to the warriors. How could it be that she was protecting the opposition!? " Are we clear?" she stated, wanting to make sure that they had heard her correctly. Nods were sent in her direction and content, Sophia smiled, trying her best to ignore the wolf's growls. Glancing briefly, she held her bow and arrow ready in her hands if the situation became gory.

However, it appeared that the elf had done the hardest part in calming the creature and glancing back to where the captain, the elf, and Jason were standing Sophia sat in front of the wold, her eyes scanning over it's horrifying wounds. A wave of compassion passed through her body at this moment - how could it be that her men were so cruel? Sighing softly she was tempted to at least try and help the creature but that could be a death wise - what if it turned against herself and her comrades? Suddenly something in the distance caught her attention - followed by deafening screams. Confused, Sophia narrowed her eyes and some of the comrades looked too, trepidation then racing through her veins.More elves! Racing up onto her feet, she was once again entered the tent, her eyes wide with alert. "There is more then one elf, sir. We are under attack! she exclaimed. Looking with mixed emotions to the elf, her gaze became more sincere at the sight of her before she looked back to the captain. " They are very close.. and looking for this elf no doubt. I suggest you get all the information you need, we are loosing men as we speak" the archer said worriedly but soft in tone.

ELWEN LUNA
elven warrior - 50+ - Nature magic
near the human stronghold - with a wolf

The elven girl had given up, basically waiting for her fate. Drago stopped his growling and was now happy to see the archer who had saved him. He tilted his head and stood up, his full size up to her chest. Snarling, he made the guards move in front of him, and he stood, protecting the tent from further harm. Picking the sword up, he went low to the ground, and readied for attack. Drago was only a few feet off, and Elwen knew what he was doing, "Oh lord, Drago.." Her head went down and she sighed "He's sided with you, it'll take much to get him out of this fight." Debating what he'd do next, she was surprised to see him come into the tent and by the captain, dropping his sword at his feet and wagging his large tail as he sat down. He was returning what he had stolen from the humans, and to the source to.

The wolf lowered his head, and his tail stopped wagging. He whimpered a few times, before nudging the sword to the man, and tilting his head gently. His wounds were soaked in blood, and he had many wounds. The arrows in his back and sides showed out to all of the wounds. The wolf didn't seemed phased by it though, and he awaited his response, whining gently till he spoke. His tail thumped on the floor as he looked at Elwen with a cute head tilt, and Elwen smiled back to the wolf, sadly, more than anything else. Avoiding eye contact, Elwen put her head back down, and the wolf barked gently about the sword. The wolf's expression had changed from the battle, and he almost looked like a puppy as he presented it to the captain.

❀--Aria Mier
elf ❀ healer ❀ water ❀ at the battle ❀ Faelyn
Aria pull Aeglos to a halt at the tree line, just behind the group of warriors. She watched anxiously as her people screamed and shouted, caught in the midst of war and battle, and looked for those who lay injured. Suddenly, Aria heard Faelyn yell and saw a blaze of fire leap into the field of human warriors. Met with a trial of blood. Faelyn had been stabbed!

Before Aria could react, she heard pounding feet against the ground and turned to see a human warrior charging up the hill towards her. He was young, fear and sorrow in his eyes as he shakily raised a sword. Aria felt bad for him. So it isn't just Cymbiir suffering from the cloud of war, she thought, reaching to her pack for a canteen of water and her sword. Swinging down off of Aeglos Aria stood her ground, but nervously; she no longer owned any sort of armor, so all she had protecting her was a silvery, cobweb silk gown--the traditional wear of healers. Drawing Lírë Aria readied herself for contact. The blade glistened like ice in the sun, but also glowed with a faint power. As the human approached, Aria swung Lírë, catching his attack, but only slightly.

Moving to the offensive, Aria parried towards the young man's legs, catching him off balance for a split second. Aria was lucky that this boy was rather inexperienced; anyone of higher stance would have easily fallen for her next trick. Opening the canteen of water, Aria pulled its contents into a whip and lashed it at the boy's face while his guard was down. It was a cheap move, but Aria needed to get to Faelyn. She knew that the female elf was probably too proud to let the injury bother her, but if the captain lost too much blood, she could be in serious danger of leaving herself open to greater, more fatal wounds on the battlefield. The human boy fell to his knees, screaming as blood clouded his eyes. "I can't see!" he screamed, reaching for his sword. But Aria was already gone, and into the thick of battle.

Searching for Faelyn amongst the fighting pairs, Aria dodge blades and arrows, even stray waves of natural power from her own people. In this fog and mist, it was hard to tell friends from enemies. A lit fire caught Aria's attention, and she ran towards Faelyn, who was viciously attacking a human warrior with her flames and knife. "Faelyn, your leg!" Aria shouted, running to the captain. Pulling her water whip into a smoother shape, Aria pulled the tentacle of water around the stab wound. Closing her eyes, she let the water seal the surface of the wound. It wasn't healed, not completely, but it would have to do for the moment.

Leaving Faelyn to command her soldiers, Aria raced around, looking for others to heal. She tried to look away as she passed human warriors, screaming in agony as they bled out from sword or arrow wounds. How was it that in a world I have come to nurture I can watch this pain and suffering? Aria thought, a wave of guilt coming over her. She had to remember that they were the enemy; they were human, and had tried to wound Aria's people for years. However, it was still hard to watch others suffer while she could easily heal them.

➸--Raoden Marx
human ➸ captain of the guard ➸ Sophia; Jason; Elwen
Clever! Raoden thought as he watched Sophia handle the wolf. He turned back to the bound elf, watching her carefully. "I will not kill you, Elwen Luna, either myself or by turning you free," he decided, lacing his hands together. He could still use this elf; he just needed to find a way to keep her safe until he could further question her. Suddenly, both the wolf and Sophia burst into the tent, their eyes wild. Raoden looked from archer to animal, confused. "More elves?" he asked, his brow knit. He needed to be out on the field with his men.

Raoden looked to Jason, who was standing quietly looking perplexed. "Jason, watch the elf. Make sure she does not escape or that she is not rescued. They will be looking in the dungeons for a prisoner, not the the artillator's tent. Sophia and I need to get to the battle front," Raoden said with authority. He couldn't believe that he was putting his own mens' lives at risk for that of a single elf, but Raoden believed that it would pay off in the long run. This elf seemed rather neutral about the whole situation; she would rather die than be turned to her people. Did that mean she could provide some sort of information to help them fend off the elves? Perhaps, but such quandaries would have to wait.

As Raoden went to exit the tent, he nearly tripped over the wolf. Looking down at the creature, he winced in pain for the animal, looking at the blood soaking his coat, both from his own wounds and the wounds of the soldiers he had taken down. The animal dropped his carried sword at Raoden's feet, his eyes pleading. For some strange reason, Raoden almost felt as though the animal was trying to apologize for his actions, and the gesture somewhat calmed the anger Raoden suddenly felt at his lost comrades. "Thank your animal for his submission, but I cannot wield a sword that has already slain many of my own," Raoden said to Elwen before turning with Sophia to the courtyard.

Raoden could hear the battle at their door step, war raging on the plain just before the forest where the elves dwelt. Drawing his sword, Raoden rushed into battle on foot, assessing the damage. "Archers, mages! To the barracks!" he yelled. "Answer to Sophia!" By giving the ranged soldiers to Sophia, Raoden could focus more on the immediate situation and organize things a bit. He saw both elves and humans injured on the ground, but couldn't make out a clear leader. He had seen Cymbiir's military captain only a few times before in other battles, and he wasn't sure if she would show up to a simple rescue mission, but he kept his eyes open, searching for the fiery she-elf.
