I covered my notepad trying to make sure he didn't see it. I gave up pretty easily, sighed, and mumbled "a lightning bolt." I wanted to explain to him that it was for defensive purposes but then he would think I am crazier than he already knows I am.

"Thanks," I said and couldn't help but smile. I put my pencil and paper back in my dress pockets. I turned my head to look at him and said, "so what are you doing here? Everyone has their reasons to come to the circus. What's yours?"

"hot! well, im the closing act. If you want a front row seat you better head over. I think they just finished the second act." she smiled. "Hey, are you going to come around tomorrow?" (she says hot as an alternative to cool.)

Alex: "I'd love to come back. My mother and father may want to spend time with Todd though so it'll be just me."

Dominic: "Oh just thought it would be interesting to see all of these cool illusions and see how they all work" I lie. I didn't want her knowing I was a hunter just yet

(Maybe Midas could come in and meet Violet if thats ok. I want to get her in here somehow)

"Oh fun," I said joyfully. "I love doing that to, it really gets the brain going, I mean mysteries are great but I like to try and figure out how they pull it off. You know, what they actually do opposed to the explanation of 'magic.'" I told him. I was still suspicious though. Usually I'm the only one who likes to do that, and I always know the answer is most likely because they have abilities like me. Dominic was up to something, but I didn't know what.

"Trust me, I've seen the world, been there done that and there's nothing magical about it. It's a big bad world outside of this fun circus tent, and if you think its magical, then we must be living in different worlds." I told him. I knew that people had abilities like me, and it might seem magical to normal people but to me, we were just like everyone else, only a little bit more special. And for the past six years, I've been running and hiding from not only hunters but my family and friends who have turned on me, I only know the worst in people.
