jaime is one of the younger shifters in all of the communities, and consequently, he tends to be one of the slightly more naïve. neither of his parents are shifters (though his grandparents were, presumably where he inherited that particular trait), so jaime has grown up in a very human friendly environment. he tends to have less problems and less qualms about having to be 'human,' and gets along very well with his non-shifter peers. however, part of him does long to be free, whatever that means. he wants to know what it's like to spread his wings and soar, what it's like to not be tethered to the ground by a vest.

jaime is a very amicable and easy-going person. his wide smile and bright eyes win almost everyone over to him. he does his best to be a good and kind person, however, this is sometimes one of his downfalls. he's a little too eager to please, and will sometimes let people walk over him in order to keep them happy. he does have a certain point, where he will refuse to be trodden on, but he is rarely defiant about it, preferring to refuse with a polite smile on his face. jaime also tends to be overly trusting--always giving people second chances and the benefit of the doubt. he's not a hard person to take advantage of, and even when it happens, he's always forgiving. because of this, he has earned the reputation of being somewhat of a pushover.

jaime is, however, one of the most honest and blunt people you will ever meet. he will tell white lies and such, and indeed, he is quite accomplished in spinning falsities, he usually never lies when it matters. if you ask for the truth from him, you will always get it. he has the capability of lying with a straight face and honest expression, but if you ever catch him out, it's nearly impossible for him to lie his way out of trouble. when he's caught off guard, the truth is usually the first thing to fall out of his mouth. he doesn't lie about lying.

loyalty is the virtue that is most important to jaime. he loves all of his friends and family dearly, and there is nothing that he would not do for them. once you have his loyalty, it's a very difficult thing to lose it (again with the whole overly trusting and forgiving thing).

Sierra is very much like her other self. Curious and intelligent, yet
careful and a tad shy. She was never close with her parents, although with
such a difference between them, it is no shocker. Her father, a grand ol'
gizzly, and her mother, a fiesty tiger, were less than thrilled to have a
child with nothing more than a fragile lemur as a shift. Although the lack
of parents never did bother Sierra. She has grown more independent due
to it all, as well as learned a bit of maturity early on. However, despite
all of this, Sierra also has quite a nasty side. She is very stubborn and
blunt, as well as easily provoked. Overall, a great friend to have, and a
tough enemy to hold.

Vincent grew up in an orphanage. At only one year of age, his parents were horrified to discover his peculiar ability. They promptly disowned him and moved out of town in order to get away. He was able to keep his skill hidden to most of the other children, with the exception of a boy named Boyd, who he loved. Unfortunately, Boyd later died in a school shooting, leaving Vincent shattered, dark, brooding, and temperamental. The shifting gene, it was later discovered through research, came from Vincent's great-great-grandmother. Strangely, Vincent took a strong liking to fire when he was young and began smoking when he was only fourteen. This, unfortunately caused him to develop a dependency on the cigarettes, and he becomes anxious or depressed without them, this are most likely a result of the tragic death of his love. Upon turning seventeen, Vince discovered the communities, places where similar shifters can live in unity with limited interaction with humans. On his eighteenth birthday, he ran off to live with his according community, the feline omegas. He tends to keep to himself, but doesn't mind opening up a bit to some males.
