Drew began to follow Tyler to the house again, trudging the the snow that was building up quickly. Her pace was slow and week, but not because of her ankle. She had nearly forgotten it as she looked on in awe at the mansion and the domain around her. She noticed the smoke escaping one of the many chimneys dotting the roof. She tensed a bit, know that usually when there was a fire going, there was someone running it and Drew didn't feel quite ready to run into more people.
She followed Tyler into the house and looked around, noticing every little detail she could pick up in the room she was in. Looking at the windows, she was surprised to find that the drapes had been pulled back to let the sunlight shine in, something she wasn't used to seeing. She felt the climate change, becoming much warmer from the cozy feel around her even though it was such a large place. There were many wolf carvings and such decorating the room, but that didn't come to as a surprise to her.
She jumped a slight bit as she heard the door shut behind her, her only means of escape, being closed by the one who led her there. She watched Tyler closely, waiting for him to attack even still. But he didn't. Her hazel optics followed him around the room as he first gestured to a couch, requesting that she sat down and all the way until he left the room. Before doing anything, Drew checked the door to make sure it was still unlocked and was relieved to find that it was. She eyed the stairs that Tyler had taken to leave the room as she inched her way toward the couch.
This time, in the room alone, she was able to let out a grunt of pain that she had been holding back for so long. She took a seat on the couch and pulled up her pant leg slowly, her hand shaky in fear if touching it and causing even more pain. The gruesome bruise she had seen before, showed itself once again with the same colors as before that coded it. Drew quickly dropped her pant leg when she heard steps nearing on the stairs. She looked up and watched as Tyler made his way toward her and set a first aid kit beside her and opened it up. He began to list a few of the many things there were in the case and offered her to do it on her own. She glanced at him, unsure. She's dressed a few wounds in her life, but never on her own. Still, she'd known enough to figure it out on her own. She waited 'til the boy walked off into what she had assumed was the kitchen, before she began to search the kit. Beside her, she pulled out some gauze and bandages, tape, swabs, a splint, and finally , a bottle of rubbing alcohol. Some of the stuff she had grabbed she didn't think she'd need but had them beside her just incase.
Drew looked at the materials she had placed out beside her and dreaded what came first. She wasn't going to be able to clean out the small gash in her ankle with just gauze. But that's what she used at first, gently cleaning the crusted blood around the bruise and slowly coming inward, every slight touch causing her to but her lip. Then Drew picked up the rubbing alcohol, her hand shaking ever so slightly. She set it back down before she could do anything with it. She wasn't capable of withstanding that much pain and would rather deal with her ankle as it was. She sat in silence for a long moment until Tyler reappeared carrying what seemed to be an ice pack, wrapped in some dish cloth. She looked at the pack, down at her ankle and finally back up at Tyler, into his unusual golden optics. "Why are you doing this?" she asked, still not able to comprehend why he even cared.{Sori, I was going to have her dress her own wound in this post, but I felt like I was getting too much into bloody detail. Sori if I was, I just don't want to be the reason this role play shuts down.}

Tyler watched her flinch and lean back, not being able to do it- or not wanting too, he didn't know. All he knew was she was in pain and needed it wrapped up.
"Here, let me help you out a little" he said, taking away the alcohol and replacing it with peroxide which had the same cleaning affects without the burn. "I took a injury first aid course a while ago" he added pouring a small amount of peroxide and dabbed it carefully around the edges of the wound. He then got a clean cotton ball and repeated the pouring action, this time dabbing it softly on the wound, it bubbled up white, which was a good sign.
He then heard her ask him something and he looked at her with his golden optics. "Because it's my job" he answered simply to her, but in a friendly tone. as he glanced back at her wound and patted it dry softly with another swab of cotton. He placed a dry square of gauze over the would and taped each corner with a few strips of sticky white medical tape. He looked back at her. "I like being nice to others.. Both our lives depend on this, your more important than I am of course and that's why I want to help you. Your being looked for, but no one is going to hurt you." he smiled a little bit pulling a long tendon bandage out of the kit and carefully wrapped her foot and ankle up carful not to bump her cut or wiggle her ankle in case it was sprained, his fingers hot against her skin and he worked away. He attached two safety pins to the top of the bandage to hold it in place and then clipped the first aid kit closed. standing up looking at her. "There you go..try not to wiggle it around too much" he walked over to the counter and put the first aid kit in the cupboard and washed his hands. He glanced over the island counter in the kitchen over at her in the living room. "How about those cheeseburgers?" he asked, remembering she had wanted one- So did he, he was pretty hungry himself.
Sorry this is so short, I just woke up lol.. brain is not fully running yet

Drew looked at Tyler with a glare, not wanting him to touch her. It had more to do with a personal thing than that she didn't want anything to do with him. But she didn't pull away when he began to clean her wound out. She did flinch, however, when he first came close, but she gave in. She watched him put the rubbing alcohol back in the kit and pull out something else. She thought it was strange since she'd never been told to use anything else, but she was a bit relieved to find that it didn't hurt anywhere near as much as the rubbing alcohol would've. She cringed at first, half expecting it to sting, but it didn't last long though.
With every small touch or brush against her ankle, she had to bite down on whatever she could inside her mouth. Gritted teeth, tongue, cheek, and sometimes even her lips. She tried not to pay much attention to her ankle as Tyler dressed it and spoke at the same time. His stories seemed to have a small effort to them to keep her preoccupied, but they didn't work much. When she felt the skin of his hands on her ankle, she realized why he hadn't been cold when he was outside and it had been snowing. Drew leaned her head back on the couch and closed her optics, trying to block out all feeling she had. It wasn't easy, and it didn't work because it seemed that the harder she tried, the more it hurt. She wasn't focused enough. She finally gave up and opened her eyes again and looked up at Tyler as he spoke again.
"No one is going to hurt you." There were those words again, the ones that seemed too far to be true. But it was one of the other sentences that he said that irked her. How in the world was she possibly more important than any other person on earth? She stared at him, trying to make sense of his logic. She turned away and shook her head, giving up. There was no way she'd figure it out, but there was also no way that she'd believe it to be true.
Before she knew it, her ankle was bandaged and Tyler was already in the kitchen again, and the first aid kit put away. She stifled her laugh as he told her basically not to much it around too much. This, she knew all too well, that it wouldn't be happening. She was never too sure, but Drew always thought that she had some mild case of ADHD and could never sit still for too long and always had trouble focusing on certain things. Before he was asking about the cheeseburgers, she was already on her feet to follow, leaving the ice pack he had brought out to her, on the couch and trying her best to bite back the pain. "Why not." she said, at the doorway of the kitchen.{Haha, I know the feeling and you're fine.}

Tyler turned his shoulder for a spilt second and she was there, up on her feet standing. He took a glance down at her foot, and then at her face his mouth opened for a second to say something, but closed again. shaking his head and turning away, grinning a little at her stubbornness. He turned on the tap, setting the water to a hot setting and scrubbed his hands with some fruity smelling hand soap and then dried them in a towel, going over to the fridge and pulling out a package of raw ground meat. He pulled out a onion and some green peppers and laid them all on the cutting board. He chopped up the veggies in very tiny cubes and then took out the meat laying it on a plate. He sprinkled a little salt and pepper over the raw meat and pressed it into two thick ovals with his hands. He then took out a large frying pan from the drawer under the stove and poured a tiny amount of oil in, putting the veggies In first for flavour and then he laid the two meat patties in the sizzling oil.
He turned his attention to her, watching her casually leaning in the doorway watching his movements. "Why?" he mirrored her question. "Well.." he began, he didn't want to sound too gruesome, but of course needed to tell her the truth about everything. "Anyone who comes looking for you, will be destroyed" He looked away from her, washing his hands again since he touched raw meat and washed his dishes he just used. He fell silent for a second and looked back to her. "It's my duty to protect you from anyone who comes looking for you, police, government officials, other people.. anyone really" he picked up a glass and filled it with fresh spring water with two cold ice cubes floating in it, handing it to her to drink. He assumed it's been a while since she must of ate or even drank anything. He gave her a friendly smile. "Here, you must be thirsty"
When he gave her the glass he turned back to the stove, taking a spatchula out from a wooden drawer and pressing the patties down into the pan, they made a long "szzzzzzzzz" sound and the room started to smell like a gourmet restaurant. He flipped the patties over and put the glass lid back over the pan, letting them cook well on the other side. He then went to the fridge and pulled out a fresh block of unopened mozzarella cheese and cut two fair sized slices, placing them aside and putting them back in the fresh drawer of the fridge. He pulled out a head of crisp green lettuce and one cherry red tomato, showing them to her from afar. "Lettuce? Tomato?" he asked her.

Drew watched as Tyler moved about the kitchen, preparing to make some cheeseburgers. She noticed him wash his hands the first time and cocked her head slightly, her brows furrowing. Hadn't her already washed his hands a second ago? she thought to herself, referring back into her memory where she could have sworn she heard him turn the tap on before she got up. She figured it was a strange thought so she didn't think much of it, but then noticed the bottle of soap he used. While the boy began to chop up the veggies, she zipped through the kitchen to the sink, driven by her curiosity, and picked up the bottle. The first thing she noticed was the fruity smell, and that was enough for her. She set it back down and walked away. When Drew watched Tyler begin to flatten the two raw patties, and couldn't hide the smirk that inched across her face.
"So we're eating veggie patties that smell like fruit." She commented, but didn't expect an answer. She looked on as he continued with making them, not sure what to expect. She began notice the gourmet spell that surrounded them which only made her stomach growl in agony. she couldn't wait until they were finished, it was taking too long. when she saw Tyler take out a spatula and pressed down on both patties, she half winced, half whimpered but all quietly to herself. He was taking all the juicy taste out when he flattened it. Drew shook her head and didn't let it bother her, trying to remind herself that she'd at least have something to eat. She stood at the island, waiting, and watching, practically ignoring anything Tyler had to say about anything else. She had her optics affixed on the food. When he mentioned that it was his duty, she only half consciously laughed at it, not sure why she had.
When a glass of water was placed in front of her, she waited until he turned toward the fridge before guzzling it down. She'd been thirsty and the whole while, regretting not grabbing a drink of water from the creek when she was there. Drew finished off the glass in a matter of seconds, but felt stupid right away. Maybe se should have saved some for when she got her food. It was too late now, so there was no point in worrying about it, especially because there was still the tap which could give her another full glass. Duh she wanted to bonk herself on the head for thinking so stupidly. But she didn't because just as soon as she thought about it, Tyler interrupted her thoughts, asking about toppings she wanted. She honestly didn't care either way, so she just shrugged.
Trying to pass the annoyingly long amount of time it was taking for the food to finish, she figured it may be a good idea to maybe start asking questions. She started with the ones she figured would be more easy for Tyler to answer and thought about maybe jumping him with a few harder ones later. But for now, she was still testing him and just getting used to his boundaries. "Ok, so, this is like a punishment for you. Because you did something wrong." She stated it more as a fact than a question. Things were starting to make sense now, and the look on her face began to show it. She did look up from the counter and her fingers began to fiddle underneath the over stretched part of the counter top. She leaned on her left leg, the toes of her right foot barely touching the cool wood finished floor. Since it was now hidden, she could favor it without anybody being the wiser. "So, do you have to do this every time you cause trouble?" She asked the question, knowing she may be pushing the boundary of comfort just a little.
{Sori, went out for a trail ride with my sister and our hoses and just got warmed up.}

Tyler flipped the patty over again, letting it soak the juices back up. He had only pressed it down the first time for the heat to run through that side once more before flipping. He waited for the burger to finish cooking, it was a dark brown color that filled the kitchen with wonderful smells. He walked over to the bread cupboard and pulled out four hamburger buns and heated them up for just a few seconds in the microwave, setting the timer on ten seconds. He turned to her after hearing her words, feeling a little hurt- she never understood. "It's not punishment.. " he pressed his lips together in a frown. "Punishment is getting your hands smacked, or a favorite food or game taken away." The timer went off and he pulled the warm bread down, placing a slice of fresh cheese on the bottom and placing the hot patty on top- The cheese warmed up inside and added to the swam of yummy smells in the kitchen.
"This is more like a deal" he looked up at her with his gold eyes. "Yes, I did something bad. And yes, if I don't do this they will kill me in the most brutal way imaginable. But it's not about me" he felt a little flustered. "It's hard to explain, but you are important and it's important to do so.." a frown stayed on his lips. "I'm not doing this because I want to save my life, I'm doing this because I want too" he chopped up a small amount of tomato and lettuce and laid them in a bowl, placing them on the island which had three stools placed in the front, an ideal little sitting and eating area. He laid out a bottle of ketchup and mustard beside the veggies and placed the burger down in front of everything, steam and wonderful smells arose from it, the cheese was warm and gooey and it looked overall amazing. He shot her a half smile, still under the affects of her words.
"No, it won't taste like soap. I just thought you'd be grateful for someone to have extra clean hands while touching your food.." he did a half shrug and picked up a cheese burger for himself, leaning against the counter and taking a bite quietly. He did a half nod towards the island, inviting her to have a seat at the stool and have her requested meal. He took another bite of his burger and walked over to the fridge, taking out two cans of coke, he laid one next to her meal and stepped back to lean against the counter again, popping the tab open on his and taking a sip. "Enjoy"

As Tyler went on with his explanation, Drew noticed the sound of hurt at first. She didn't mean for him to take it that way, but she wasn't about to correct herself either. Besides, she wasn't sure how else one was suppose to take it so she couldn't blame him. As he continued to speak, she rested her elbows on the counter and her head on her hands, only having to bend over a little ways to reach it. She followed along, a bit intrigued in finding out how he was going to try and explain it, but it was hard to stay focused when her mind was constantly wandering off to the food. but still she managed.
She watched him move around, still preparing the food, but her mind was growing father and father apart from her stomach as questions began to swarm and coalesce in her mind. With nearly every sentence he spoke, another question would sprout up. She began to slowly list them off. A deal? What kind of deal? What did you do? Kill you? Her optics widened when he mentioned that part, but she plunged right back into her questions. Isn't that a bit harsh? Whose they? How could I possibly be important to anything? Save your life, but you want to help me? So this is about you all the way in the end? How crazy is your kind?! The last one was just a screaming thought of her frustration and confusion combined that she probably wouldn't ask.
Drew didn't take the stool beside her. She'd known it was there, but didn't sit for a reason. She'd get antsy quickly if she had. She ignored the half smiles he kept shooting at her in an attempt to either make the situation less tense or to hide something. All except the last one. She narrowed her hazel orbs, sensing that there was something he had hidden behind it. Had she really bothered him that much with her question? She was half pleased, that she had found an easy target, but half hurt or heartbroken or whatever word one could use, that she'd be pleased with herself for something so cruel. Or maybe is was that she'd been trying to do it for certain reasons that she felt that way, or half that way at least. Drew was brought out of her hazed mind when the scents of the burger aroused her and swam into her nares.
The scents were delicious and were so strong she swore people from the city could smell it even though she assumed they were miles away. She was still a little bugged when he mentioned the soap thing and almost wanted to roll her eyes because it sounded so stupid. Geez, do you even get what a joke is? she thought to herself, but didn't dare voice it. Instead, she let it slide, picked up one of the cheeseburgers and bite down into it, taking a giant bite. She felt the colorful tastes liven her taste buds as the juiciness of the cheeseburger slid on her tongue and as the melted cheese and sweet bread soaked it all up. She felt her taste buds dance and beg for more, so she gave them more by taking another bite. Drew couldn't remember the last time she had had such delicious and well filling food, she was almost full after just a few bites. Not being used to eating so much, she placed the remaining half of the burger back down on the plate in front of her, not even bothering to open the can of soda.
"That doesn't sound like a pleasant deal, nor one you'd want any part of." She kept the plate in front of her as to not be rude so it seemed like she wasn't finished eating, and perhaps she'd take another bite or two later on. But first, she had a truck load of questions she was ready to dump. She wasn't sure which one to start with so she picked one at random, not thinking first of how it may affect Tyler before she said it. One of her many negative traits, she was sometimes a bit impulsive. "So, what did you do to get stuck with me?" The question was vial, and she probably knew it too. If she did, she wasn't going to let on.

Tyler finished his food and wiped his mouth with a napkin, balling it up in his fist and flicking it in the garbage bin across from him, bringing his attention back to Andrew, noticing that she was asking more questions about him. He placed his plate in the sink and leaned against it with his arms crossed, looking directly at her, his gold eyes looked even golder under the kitchen lights. "This sounds kind of weird, maybe even seem if we were stalking you, but I can assure you. this is the first time I have met you in person" he ran his hand through his hair, brushing it off his brow. he needed a hair trim, he continued on with his sentence. "The pack leader, the one who decides our fate gave us four wolves four of your names from all around this area, girls who have gotten themselves in trouble and need to be protected from higher authority" he nodded slightly, getting into the details that she probably wanted to hear now. "I actually never got stuck with you, I had first pick and I picked you out of the others" he glanced over he shoulder at the window as the snow now fell fast and hard in thick patches, the wind blowing the last few dead leafs off the trees. "This only happens ever 50 years or so, a new pack of wolves each time get chosen by the same pack leader, or a wolf from the same bloodline of the pervious pack leader.. A generation kind of thing" He turned around, pulling a photograph and showing her. It was a picture of four large wolves together. There were two darker wolves, one brown and the other black, Another white wolf, but much much whiter than Tyler, a little smaller and had blazing green emerald green eyes. Tyler was stood to the far right in the picture, the only one with blazing golden eyes that stood out on his fur, that had a small amount of grey pecked in it, but very hard to tell. "These are the others" he told her when she looked back up at him. "They are out doing the same thing that I did with you, taking them from the harsh society they are in now and will bring them here for a while, as long as they need"
He pushed himself up from the counter and reached down grabbing something from the lower drawer of the island, coming back up with a long box with clear sandwich wrap in it for her burger to have the remainders later when she wanted it. He moved around the island and back into the living room to toss another block of wood into the fire as it roared and crackled. He plopped back on the single seated couch across from the larger couch she was sitting on earlier. He could still see and hear her from there, but bit down on his lip when she asked him "what did you do?" He turned his body to the fire, quietly- his mind wandered into another flashback from his past.
People were screaming, babies crying, sirens flashing and wailing, Tyler now in his massive wolf form stuck in a tiny bus isle, blood dripping down his mouth, the boy laid lifeless on the back of the bus, his arm had a massive bite wound and his neck bent in a weird way against the wall. Tyler snarled at anyone who even looked at him, his now red teeth exposed over the skin of his muzzle, roaring in anger- He made a mad dash for the doors of the bus, crashing and squeezing his body between the two sliding doors- The cops stood outside holding guns and shields- Tyler felt the vibrations and the sound and then a sharp pain in his shoulder blade, blood stained his white coat- This worked him up even more- He lunged at a police officer, taking him off his feet in a second and shaking him like a puppy with a stuffed animal, throwing him to the side in a hard pile. It was at this time despite the pain of his new injury he made a mad dash towards the trees, thankful this was the largest part of woods- ranging over 500,000 feet of woods in this area- He was never to be seen again- He stayed hidden from helicopters that flew over the woods with large lights and hunters that walked through with their tranquilizer guns. He made all public transit shut down for weeks, a cop was dead and a teenage boy paralyzed from the neck down.
Tyler shook the memory from his head quickly, cupping his face in his hands for a moment and then pulling himself back into reality with Andrew.
"I hurt a few people" he said simply, he was afraid she would not even think about trusting him in the future if she knew the whole ordeal- But when he thought more about it, she was here because she did something bad too- so they were equal. "I exposed myself to the public.. Paralyzed someone.. and killed a police officer.." His words came out masked in shame, it was clear to see he hated himself for it. He kept looking away from the girl, he wouldn't dare let her see his gold eyes that now hung with hate for himself, but he would be okay. He cleared his throat. "I was young.. I was new to becoming a wolf.. I had no self control or anything.." he trailed off a little "I was provoked" he took a deep breath, letting himself meet her eyes. "I am not crazy, and I am a different person"
Sorry, this is a little long >.<

KAT PRESCOTTxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxmiss mysterious, who are you?
═════════════════════════════
tagged; no one ┇ location; town, in the alley ways ┇ feeling; annoyed, tired ┇ protector; none ┇ crush; none ┇ age; nineteen
Kat despised the fact she could see her breath materialize in the cold air. She had a long fierce war with the cold, so why, again, was she sitting at the top of a building instead of being warm, inside, with a roof over her head? Kat had no home, and sitting there, at the top of that roof top -- was far more peaceful than anyone could ever imagine, despite the cold white flakes that melted upon contact with her skin and caused her to shiver. This, in all honesty, was her home. She reveled in the sound of the busy city below, finding comfort in it. She almost dreamed of the life she could have had, had she not run away from home and ended up in the position she was in, on the run, homeless, and often extremely hungry. Even now her stomach made it's soft grumble for attention, but Kat had no choice but to ignore it. Besides, she was used to it. Hungry, lost, alone, cold, it didn't matter as long as she didn't end up back in the hell-hole she'd escaped from, the secret agency. However, after several hours of listening to her stomach groan and experiencing the pains of hunger, Kat had enough. Releasing a sigh of discomfort and irritation, she stood up from her sitting position on the roof top and stretched, her eyes glaring daggers at her pesky stomach. "God, you're impatient." she muttered under her breath, gaining even more of annoyance at the sight of her own breath -- visible in the air.
Gathering all of her items into the bag on her back, Kat scaled down the side of the building -- which wasn't really that tall -- and landed in the dirty alleyways of the city where she moved in the darkness, pulling her hood up over her head to shadow her face and make her less visible to someone who wanted to find her. She moved along the alleyways like she owned them, they were her own highway through the town and kept her somewhat hidden -- besides, they made her feel safe. The bums and freaks that resided inside them didn't scare her, she could take any of them out in a heart beat. So she walked along until she came upon the disgusting smell of alcohol, blood, and sweat. A bar was nearby, she was certain of it. Although a risky place to head to, it seemed to be her only option for cheap food. Besides, she figured she could perhaps sweet talk the bartender into giving her some pizza for a dollar or more less than it was actually worth -- not that she even had any money.
Slipping inside the bar, Kat pulled the hood off of her head so she could become a little less suspicious. She allowed her eyes to adapt to the dim lighting as she pushed her way through the barricades of nasty drunken men until she came before the counter. Plopping down on a bar stool, she crossed her legs and bat her eyes at the tender, a small smirk edging its way onto her lips. "I'd like a piece of pepperoni pizza, and a basket of fries -- please." she smiled as cute as she possibly could, and she swore she could almost feel this "cutesy" act of hers burning her own soul. Kat hated acting like this, but sometimes it was all she had. The bar tender gave a flirtatious wink that nearly made Kat vomit the empty contents of her stomach, and turned around to get Kat her items, but not after asking her if she'd like something to drink. Kat turned it down and waited for her food with an angry stomach that continuously growled, while fearing someone would recognize who she was and try and take her back just so they'd earn the money from the huge bounty on her head. As she waited for the food, she allowed her fingers to palpate against the wooded surface of the bar impatiently. Eyes cast down, Kat tried her best to keep a low profile. Please, god, just let me go long enough unnoticed to actually have a meal. she thought. When the plate of steaming hot pepperoni pizza plopped right in front of her, Kat felt her heart skip a beat in extreme joy and she immediately grabbed the slice and began to devour it. To anyone's eyes, it probably seemed quite obvious she hadn't eaten in quite some time. Just into the third or fourth bite, however, Kat heard her name being whispered among the men in the bar. Freezing in place, she set the pizza back on its plate and reached down towards her waist for her dagger, the hair on the back of her neck standing on edge. This wasn't good, no, not at all.
It took no time at all after that for a very unlucky male to walk up behind her and lean down towards her ear, a smirk settling across his lips. "Found ya." But before he could actually get a firm grip on her, Kat spun around and stabbed that dagger right into his shoulder. The man faltered, stumbling back and giving Kat just enough room to grab the piece of pizza in her hand and turn running toward the door. Upon dodging the drunken, stumbling men, Kat rammed her shoulder into the door -- knocking it open, and ran outside. The cold air nearly stopped her in her tracks, and she nearly choked as it entered her lungs. Regaining her wits, however, she started running just in time to distance herself from the men that came barreling out the door. Her feet slammed against the concrete in a steady rhythm, much like her heart that pounded on the inside of her chest -- almost threatening to burst through her rib cage and flutter away. Adrenaline fueled her body, keeping her eyes cast straight forward, pushing people out of her way as she ran towards the safety of the alleyways -- taking the few last bites of her pizza as she ran. She could hear the heavy breathing of approximately three men behind her, just barely struggling to keep up. Just as one made a leap towards her in a awful attempt to tackle her to the ground, she turned a sharp corner into the dim alleyways and rushed down it, the cold air burning her skin and her lungs. The other men were relentless, but Kat knew far more tricks than they would have ever thought. Besides, the alleyways were a maze, and the guys could hardly keep up. Lips tugging into a smirk, Kat glanced over her shoulder for a quick second just to see how much distance she'd made between them. "Maybe if you dim-witted idiots laid down on the beer for a month or two, you'd actually have the agility to catch me!" she shouted, a small chuckle escaping her lips as she continued to run.
It didn't take long for her to gain enough distance that all she had to do was turn a corner and press herself into a wall, shrouded by darkness, for the duo of thick headed drunks to pass her up. When she knew they were gone, she released the breath she was holding and began to pant, a hand over her chest as it rose up and down unevenly.. She'd finished the slice of pizza somewhere along the way, so at least her stomach was full, but with all that running she honestly felt like crap. Sliding down the wall, she pressed her knees to her chest as she continued to pant, a sigh escaping from her lips. She pulled her hood up over her face and just kind of sat there in the cold snow, calming herself down enough so that she could get back up and head off towards god knew where, and hopefully find a place to get a nice rest that didn't include sleeping on the cold hard ground in the snow, huddled next to a terribly made fire. However, the chances of that were quite slim.

Drew was all ears as Tyler began to explain the ordeal of what was going on. She lifted her head and followed him with her hazel optics as he moved around when he spoke. It seemed like he couldn't sit still for much longer than a moment when he spoke. She could relate to that, although it was in anything she did just in general rather than when she used her words. When he moved to wrap up her burger, or the remains of it at least, she almost reach med out her hand to snatch it back from him, but stopped herself before she could. It was probably a better idea to let it be put away than sit out in front of her anyway.
Every once in a while, when she got confused, she'd look down at the counter in front of her to try and sort out a few questions to ask later or just to hold onto. Sometimes she'd just look down because she didn't feel like looking up. When he began to explain the part how some were chosen to protect and some to be protected, she'd nod her head on occasion when she understood or just to show she was following along. At the one point he said he'd chosen her, she became confused again so she glanced back down at the counter top to think again. Why would he choose me, of all the others? Man, if only he knew, he'd probably left me for last. Or is this one of his tricks or excuses? at the last thought, She glanced up at him, slightly glaring at him. But she didn't hold the gaze for long because a picture had been placed before her, one of three fairly large wolves. Three of the four, she did not recognized, but figured out who they were before he said it. The fourth however, she immediately knew who it was with his familiar optics. Something else about the picture, caught her eyes though. Something that sent shudders down her spine and caused her to accidentally shift her weight on her right foot and made her wince. She slid the picture away from her, across the counter to the other side until it was out of view. When she looked up Tyler was gone.
She turned her head to see him tending to the fire in the living room, which she had practically forgotten it's existence and remembered the unnerving feeling it have her when she stood outside earlier, thinking that there might be other people in the building. Drew shifter her weight back to her left leg and held her other foot in the air for a moment until she placed it back down on the ground and looked back at Tyler, eating for him to speak again. Everything fell silent for a long moment, the only noise coming from the cackles and spots of the fire as the logs burned and turned into char and ash. She noticed the boy place his hands over his face, like he had just need to let off some steam from something. But the more she watched him, the more tired he looked. It wasn't something she noticed before, but that moment he seemed not so strong, weak, vulnerable almost.
Drew was shocked to hear more words come out of his mouth, like he was pushing himself to continue on rather than break down. She was shocked to hear his story, even though it was only a few words. It didn't seem like such a guy like him would be capable of such a thing. She looked back down at the counter when she saw that he was trying to avoid looking at her. Drew felt a wave of sorrow, and understanding wash over her. She knew how he felt, or how he had at least. But there was more than just that of what she was feeling. She was beginning to feel a little overwhelmed. When he began to say other words, trying to redeem himself by saying that he changed and such, but Drew had already grown distant. She starred at the blank counter top for a long moment, leaving the only sound of the fireplace once again before she finally spoke.
"Um... Do you have a bathroom?" Her voice was quiet and barely audible. She never looked up from the counter as she asked the question, but she needed to find a way to escape the room even if it was for a few short moments.
