Jack looked back at Lance, eyes dark. "I haven't got a need for grief, Lance," he said. "I'm not interested in your remarks. Yes, I've considered it, but that's hardly dying, is it? Our bodies are hardly immortal; immortal is a word used to describe Gods. What we are is trapped in an instance of time which will never lapse out of sync."

"So you wouldn't mind if he became a shell?" Lance asked with a light tilt of his head before he smirked widely, "So I can crush that cursed wall down?!" He asked his voice getting lower and harsher, "And you wouldn't mind?!" He threw his head back and laughed crazily.

"Of course I'd mind," Jack said, looking back at him. "But I've been a shell, and the Doctor's been a shell, Ianto, Gray." Jack said. "The point is, we've stopped it. We stopped because it wasn't worth it. Because the little pests in our minds were just pests. And pests, can be killed, with just a little effort." His voice was a deadly calm. "So, maybe you will break the wall down, and I can't stop you from doing that; but I'll tell you this." He raised an eyebrow. "Darkness, does not always equate to evil, just as light doesn't always mean good. And the descent into hell is easy." He smiled. "What makes you think that I wouldn't be able to destroy you? You can't've always been here. Maybe in the dark, but not here."

Lance stopped his laughing before glaring at Jack, "I know you could easily destroy me Jackie, I've always known that. The thing is I also know you won't, without me around who knows how long Sunshine will keep his sanity. You see that 'wall' is keeping me prisoner but it's also keeping Pierce mentally stable, meaning once I crush it I'm free and who knows what will happen to Sunshine." he said with a light smirk, "And being called a pest is quite rude y'know..."

Jack listened, shaking his head as he did. "You know, I don't believe that you're the good one here - and I hardly think that I am, so let's focus on this." Jack paused. "If those walls go down you're no longer a prisoner. But you see, this is a carbon copy of what happened eight years ago to a very good friend of mine. If he broke the link, then the beast was freed and his friend was in danger. If he didn't, then everyone and everything else would die - including him." Jack smiled. "And do you know what he said?"

"I'd hardly call myself a beast, I'm not that bad..."He started with a sigh. Lance listened carefully, a bit curious on where Jack was going. "So... what did he say...?" he asked leaning forward using his hand to rest his head on.

" like what? " Astrid asked, while Morgana pulled D'Artagan's limp body next to Aramis.

"That if he believed in anything, he believed in her." Jack said, glaring back at Lance.

Aramis flinched as D'Artagnan was pulled up. "They said something about a demon.. But it was him. It looked like him, sounded like him."

" who is him? I'm new, remember? " Astrid said, shaking her head softly.
