A vast majority of pet store employees don't know what they're talking about and just want to make money. Whatever the pet store tells you, always confirm with other sources.
Those goldfish are going to need a much larger tank, as Lonin said.

9 litres is kinda the bare minimum for a betta. Certainly not more than enough. Bettas are able to survive in small amounts of water but it doesn't mean they're happy or totally healthy in them. A lot of pet shop employees only know what the company tells them, and pet shops exist primarily to make money rather than for the welfare of the animals they sell. If someone wants to sell you something it's generally worth getting a second opinion or doing your own research c:

We don't know how the travelling would bother the fish but if you don't have reliable power it might not be the best idea to get any right now. A few hours now and then would be ok but if your filter is off for a while then the bacteria will start to die and your cycle will crash. The changes in temperature from the heater not working might stress the fish out too, especially given how warm bettas like to be.
The whole situation really doesn't sound ideal for fish unfortunately :c

Here's my goldfish tank
It's 3 foot long and a little over 150L

I'm upgrading to a 4 foot tank (284L) just so I can get a 3rd goldfish

9-10L is much too small, they will either die fast from ammonia poisoning or get stunted and die a slow painful death because their insides continue growing while their outsides stay the same size

Hey everyone!
For Christmas my parents got me a 55 gallon tank! I was going to be buying one next week, as soon as my aunt's check for me came. I moved my 2 inch fan tail goldfish, Molly, into it! Do you guys think I have enough room to get her a friend? If, not, that's fine! I was then able to move my baby Chiclid into the 35 gallon Molly was in, and my two female guppy sisters, Maggie and Beth, into Omari's 10 gallon holding tank! They all look so happy right now! I also bought a new 10 gallon for two of my bettas, Joker and Annabelle! After that, I will only have to get one more 10 gallon next time we go to the store for my last two bettas!
Also, my betta who had swim bladder is completely healed! Everyone said he would never get better, he has had this all his life, but he's fine. I am a spiritual healer so I have been helping him every day for the past few weeks.
Does anybody know a good way to get pond snails out of a tank? My mom decided it would be fun when I was away to get me some and put them in two of my tanks and I can't get rid of them now.

Updates:
My 75's algae is no longer suspended, but now plastered all over the glass. I can never win.
Frasier is doing well and is no longer stressed!
I have successfully switched my Bettas from pellets to freeze-dried blood worms.
"I try twice as hard and I'm half as liked, but here they come again to jack my style."
In real life I have 4 dogs, 3 cats, 2 rabbits, 26 rats, 2 gerbils, 2 cockroaches, 1 turtle, 1 axolotl, and 8 fish.

Honestly 10L isn't suitable for anything other then a betta
Minimum for one fancygold fish is 75L and 38L for each additional
