Snowfoot slumped his head back into the seat, feeling rather ill after the dinner party late that night. He signalled to the driver, "May aswell go down this lane here, to get the rent. It'll save me the trouble in the morning." In turn, Henry did as he asked, flicking the wheel to one side as they drove down a narrow lane, slowly in the dark.

((No, no P: It’s like morning time, but it can be night since your post))

Niamh glanced around the room, what was the strange noise? She stood up and made her way to the house, and unlatched it. She peered out the door to see what was happening.

[Bartimaeus]

(Damn.)

The car screeched to a bumpy hault, pulling up near the small bungalow. Snowfoot stepped out of the car instinctively, hoping someone would have heard to come and pay up.

Niamh’s face grew blank, it was the landlord. She slowly opened the door, she couldn’t just ignore him. She trembled as she didn’t know how to explain to Snowfoot that they didn’t have the rent.

[Bartimaeus]

"Well...? What do you think I'm here for, hand over the money."

“Um...But you are early” Niamh managed to say, it was the only excuse she could think of.

[Bartimaeus]

Snowfoot placed a hand to his brow again. Irritated, and in a rather bad mood he had no time to play with this insolent girl. He placed a hand at her throat, slamming the girl against the wall. "Listen!" He spat through his teeth. "I don't have time to deal with stupid little brats like you. Now, you can hand over the money you owe or... or..." Snowfoot stepped back from the girl, releasing her. "I'm... I'm sorry... I don't... I don't..."

Niamh was in complete shock when Snowfoot rammed her against the wall. She choked and coughed as he grabbed her throat and then slid down the wall after he let go. Only then did it really set in what had happened, she buried her head in her skirt while she silently sobbed. She couldn't manage to say anything or look at Snowfoot.

[Bartimaeus]

(not over yet)

"I..." Snowfoot held out his hand to the sobbing girl, then pulled it back slowly. "I didn't mean... to... I..." The man sat down, holding his hands to his head.

Niamh glanced up at the man, who was offering his hand to her, but she couldn’t take it, instead she continued to sob. She wiped her nose with her sleeve and tried to pull herself together.
