Berk Island of the Dragon Riders:HTTYD semi-lit/lit Open

Rubbing her eyes as she awoke Myra yawned. She looked around to find Berwald had moved her in her sleep again. Not minding as much this time as usual because of the great view she smiled at him. He was rolled over onto his back, tightly holding onto her with his wings and arms. Chuckling she scratched beneath his chin making his hind leg kick. His bright blue eyes flashed open and he smiled down at her. During the night he moved them to the top of the nest. They watched as below the dragons sprung to life. Bright flashes of color scurried around the lush green nest. Since it was discovered the Viking had helped grow things that wouldn't normally grow down below ground. They had also made the opening much larger than it was so more sunlight could get in. As well as adding ladders and wooden platform for themselves.

Berwald tilted his head as he saw a fight start between the two heads of a Hideous Zippleback. He nudged Myra and she sighed "Alright I'll take care of it this time, but you need to learn how to deal with these things too you know? Sameera trusts you to take care of things when she's not around." She said grabbing one of the long ropes that were used for a quick way down. Twirling as she nimbly made her way down, running on the wall to change her momentum. She tightened her grip on the rope and she slowed just enough to land softly in front of the angered dragon. "You two again?" She asked, recognizing the pair because they enjoyed causing trouble. They lowered their heads in unison as they were scolded. Other recognized her authority, being recognized by Sameera as the new leader of the dragon riders. It was a big deal for anyone to be recognized by Sameera as any kind of higher ranked position, be they dragon or Viking. Myra sighed and reached her hands out. The Zippleback raised both of their heads and she rubbed them gently. "Now you two need to learn how to cooperate you here. Like it or not you're going to be together forever. Together you can do so many things. Try listening to each other more, see things through the others eyes, and I don't mean literally because I know you can do that. Now go off and get some more bedding for the Hatchlings. If you go to the sheep farmer he should give you what you need. You know where to go." She said patting them on the side before walking over to the edge of the layer she was on and sat down next to Berwald. Smirking she looked up at him, letting her legs dangle over the edge. "See it's that easy." She said,gently punched his shoulder and he did the same but a little too hard because she fell off the edge, landing on her feet a layer below. Berwald winced as he looked down at her from the layer above. "It's fine Ber, you just have to be more careful. I know if I was in any real danger you would have caught me. Now come on, I want to go see Sammera." She said and he jumped down to her. She walked onto his back and sat down with her legs crossed.

Berwald took off down the nearly straight drop, folding his wings in for extra speed before pulling up at the wide open icy bottom. Sameera lay in the middle of the opening, a large pile of snow as her bed. Large ice stalagmites and stalactites sprouted from the floor and ceiling. Unlike most of the nest this area was very cold. The only exception was the Fireworms who made a path to Sameera for the humans. Myra approached and bowed respectfully, only raisin her head when Sameera returned the gesture something she only did for the leaders of Kameri. She approached and sat down on the eye level ice platform with a blanket on it and sat down on it with her legs crossed. Berwald stayed back until Sameera said it was alright to approach and he joined Myra. Myra gave a detailed report of the recent activities around their territory of the island. Sameera listened and let out an icy sigh when Myra said their was a fish shortage. Sameera told her to ready to boats and that there was nothing to worry about. Before standing and walking to the icy pool that connected to the ocean. For generations Myra's family has been able to speak to the dragons and I hat was why they've stayed in leadership throught the generations.

"Come Berwald, we must hurry. It is rude to keep Sameera waiting." She climbed onto Berwalds back and held tight this time as she signaled for him to dive, exiting the same way Sameera did. It was quite a long way to the surface but they could make it. They had been doing this since they were children. Unlike the rest of the children, the heir bond with their dragon when they are very young. The only reason Myra's the next leader is because her brother cant talk to dragons and Sameera rejected him becaus she saw an evil in him when he fryer to force a dragon to bond to him. He was banished because of this and sent to a far away island where he was never heard from again.

Thoughts of her brother filled her mind as Berwald quickly made his way to surface, passing Sameera on his way up. They shot out of chilly water and hovered a bit, flapping his four wings in sinc. They both took a few second to catch their breath before taking off to she docks and informed the fishermen of what Sameera was going to do. The Raincutter's they used got ready, pulling the boats into position quickly. Berwald landed on his special perch and Myra got off and sat down on it, ready to enjoy the show. She looked up to see Greyon his much lower perch ready to watch with his Zippleback Rhea & Thia. The perch next to hers was empty and she was receiving increasing pressure from her grandfather to pick a second in command. Whenever the Leader stepped down the Dragon Rider Leader took their place and the second in command would become the new leader. The head warrior would become the new second comand and a new head warrior would be chosen. But when a heir is born everything changes. The heir becomes the new leader and if the heir has a child then they become second in command. That would lead us to Myra's current problem. Her father was the dragon rider Leader before her with her mother as her second in command and they had fallen in a battle with a Red Death, along with his Head Warrior and most their troops. So being the only heir she was promoted from being in training straight to Leader with an army of only kids just like her.

Dagny awoke and sat up yawning as she heard a slight chirp noise come from her still sleeping dragon. Nearly five years had passed since she landed on this island. But the constant fear was reminded every time she saw the scar on her side. Shaking her head, she got ready for the day of training. "C'mon Frightlight." She said grabbing her ax as the blue dragon sat up and stretched yawning as she chriped again . The dragon ran to the nearest tree waiting for her owner. Ax marks littered the tree and no one questioned it. Once Dagny got there, she started practicing battle moves she had learned back on Berserker Island. Duck, attack, swing your ax just a bit to the left. Her former friends words rang through her head as she struck the tree pretending that it was her opponent. Frightlight tilted her head as she watched her rider train as she chirped again. This time to eat.

Birkir awoke to beam of light hitting him in the eye. He saw that the window was open and there was a few Terrible Terrors lying around in his room. He sighed and slowly got up as his feet touched the cold floor a jolt went shooting up his spine. Birkir slowly shook it off, after recovering he then shoe out the little dragons one by one. After he was done he then noticed something was missing. A sudden crash hit the floor. Birkir rushed down the stairs to see that Stryder was knocking over everything trying to get the last fish out of his fish barrel. Birkir laughed a little "Okay there bud lemme give you a hand."He said walking over taking the last fish out and tossing it into Stryders mouth. After Birkir had his breakfast, he thought maybe he should help out around the Village today.

Birkir walked outside and saddled up Stryder to go for a ride "C'mon time to go" He said turning to the Hobblegurnt that wouldn't come outside. Birkir sighed and sat down on the ground looking at him. "Really Stryder you are deciding to do this now."He said in a calm voice "How about after are ride I'll try and get you more fish." after a minute he finally came out. "First things first I think we should check in with Myra see if she has anything for us to do." After moments of searching he saw Myra and Berwald on a perch. He then looked out at the ocean to see what was going on. He could see the Fisherman heading out to get more fish of course. He then looked at Myra "Hey Myra! Do you have anything planned today!"He said shouting his Perch was pretty far away from the one she was on.

Myra blinked hearing Birkir calling to her. Standing she waved to him and walked across the thick rope that connected all the perches. She walked to his, Berwald fallowing carefully after. He was a bit clumsy because of his size compared to the ropes. "Hey Birkir, and I haven't figured that out quite yet. Though I'm pretty sure clean up from this will take quite a while. Tell everyone in the village to put their tsunami shields up. Sameera's going to help us with our fish shortage. It won't be long now, she's been down there for a few minutes. We have until the Seacutter emerge is what she said." She said with a small smile. Berwald bumped into her and lost his balance, wrapping his wings around her and falling to the side. Acting in impulse she slipped her feet from the top of the rope and wrapped them tightly around it, locking her feet together with her ankles. They hung upside down, Myra barly able to keep it up with Berwald weighing as much as he did. "Could you give Berwald a hand? He's just a little too big for the ropes apparently and he's not exactly the most graceful regularly anyways." She winced slightly as Berwald squeezed her, bending her chest plate, still she was grinning from ear to ear. They were too low for him to right himself but too high for them to walk away unscathed if they fell. Myra didn't let the strain show in her voice even though her armor was begining to cut her side. She had been told to never show pain because pain is weakness. Instead smile and spit in the face of who ever hurt you.

Birkir Jumped in surprise when they both suddenly fell. He was even more surprised she was still holding onto the rope by her feet Birkir nodded when she asked if he could help get Berwald up. "Stryder come help me get Berwald up."He said as he reached down and started to try and pull the Dragon up. Stryder then came to help by latching onto Berwald with his feet and slowly flying upwards. To put him on the perch that Birkir was standing on. After Berwald was off of Myra he reached out his hand to help her up.

Myra would have let out a sigh of relief if her chestplate hadn't been restricting her breathing. She smiled up at him and took his hand, using it to pull herself up before moving onto his perch. "Berwald, I need you to cut me out of my armor. Do it quickly before I loose anymore blood, we have to get ready for Sameera." She said sweeping her long light brown hair over her shoulder and looking back at him. Berwald did as he was told, looking guilty as he used the claw on his underwing to slice quickly through the chestplate. It fell to the ground and Myra took a deep breath, holding her bleeding side. Berwald nudged her hand away from it so he could see and she just gave him a reassuring smile. "Hey it's okay Ber it wasn't your fault. No do me a favor and tell the other dragons to help board up the place." She said returning her hand to her side. He nodded and flew around the village quickly telling all the dragons and helping some of them.

Birkir looked at the wound "Are you going to be okay" he said as he moved closer. He then looked at the wound closer "You should go get that patched up."He said worriedly. He really felt like he shouldn't be telling her what to do but he just thought that she should get it patched up right quick just so it doesn't open up more or even if it becomes infected.

Myra looked at his concered face and her smile faded. "It doesn't look that bad now, does it? I'm sure it can wait until after I make sure everyone's alright. Oh, speaking of that. It's time." She said as Raincutter's came from the sea, fish in their jaws. They dropped them in the fishermen's boats before flying a safe distance from the water. The sea was calm for a moment before Sameera sprung out of the sea, sending water and fish flying towards the village. Berwald protected Myra and Birkir by wrapping his large wings around them and standing with his back to the sea. Once it was over the fishermen cheered and everyone scattered to collect as much fish as they could. Sameera waited by the dock for Myra, knowing she'd come to thank her and it was better to not have her go all the way to her nest. Myra saw Sameera waiting and smiled at Birkir. "How about you come thank Sameera, just in case I fall off of Berwald." She said starting to feel a bit light headed. She mounted Berwald and waited for Birkir's answer.

Birkir nodded "Sure I'll go" He said with a smile as he looked over where Stryder was "C'mon Stryder"He said with a cheerful voice. As he got on Stryder he could tell he was thinking of all the fish "Now now you will get fish later."He said patting the side of head. Stryder started to take flight he moved on up a bit and turned back to look at Berwald and Myra. He awaited for them to catch up, Birkir kept a close on Myra and hoping that she wouldn't fall off of Berwald.
