"The cheapest apartment I could find is on the corner of Burlington Ave and James Wood. The downside to living in Hollywood is that rent doesn't come cheap. Back in Canada you could find something around $100, easy. Here? Don't count on it." Shi complained quietly. "Then again, I wasn't looking too hard. Needed somewhere to stay asap." He shrugged. "I'm trying to get someone to rent out one of my rooms to help me pay for the place. Shouldn't be too long, now..."
Upon hearing the word 'art' and 'animation', Shi gasped gleefully. "You're into animation too? I was actually looking to get a degree in animation. I've always loved art... I do paintings; Acrylic is probably my favorite media. I've been meaning to find myself another sketch book, I left mine back in Canada when I moved here. It's just hard keeping up with the rent and work... I don't think I have time to be doodling too much anymore." Noting that he was rambling a bit, Shi averted his gaze once more, cheeks flagged red with embarrassment. He cleared his throat. "So... What's your favorite media...? If you have one," He asked quietly, voice cracking. He was talking an awful lot more than he we used to. It was weird... But, he guessed it was better to be getting used to a 'social life'. Whatever that was.

Jazz paused a moment and thought about the question. He shrugged and started speaking while he thought about it. "I get sent money from my mom." He paused a moment and was tempted to ramble on about art and sketching, possibly having an extra sketchbook and what not. Oh well, he still couldn't think of what his answer would be. "I don't know actually, media and such are weird to me" He shrugged slightly, probably thinking social media or whatever. "I might have an extra sketchbook back at my apartment. If you want anyways, I mean like, it's probably weird taking a sketchbook from some kid you just met" He chuckled lightly, his little fox wriggling around slightly.

Shi beamed up at the taller being, clutching the empty cup merrily. "You'd do that? Really? Are you sure? I don't want to intrude or anything," Shi squeaked, bouncing on his toes. "Not to sound weird, but should you really be trusting some random dude that you met in the park? I mean- I couldn't do a thing to you; you're huge, but... I dunno, it's just the concept?" Shi tipped his head slightly to the left. He sort of wondered if this guy knew he was trans, but he guessed it didn't really matter.

Jasper nodded happily at the other's questioning of him. "No worries, I'd love to help someone who loved art like I do" He smiled cheerfully and ran back to where he had set his sketch stuff and his bag. He stuffed everything into his bag other then his fox and put it over his shoulder, wandering back to Shi. "Huge?" He echoed with a small laugh. "Just under average, compared to my old school I'm pretty short" He chuckled, picking up Gear with putting the fox in the hood of his jacket, the fox having a small bed of fluff behind Jazz's head. "I can show you my place if you want, I don't mind where we go, we could just stop by my apartment so I can get the sketchbook. It has 100 or so pages in it, that okay?" He asked with a small childish smile.

"You're crazy," Shi laughed teasingly, glancing up at the taller guy. "Yeah, it's fine..." He smiled, feeling rather uneasy to be heading over to some random teen's apartment. The kid didn't seem too bad,so he supposed it would be alright.
"You do know that you're significantly taller than me, right?" Shi added, hooking a brow at Jazz. He shuffled his feet, ready to start walking with the new acquaintance.

He quickly shook his head, "A-Ah! You don't h-have to, really!!" Kaei didn't really want to be a burden on anyone. He tried his best not to, anyways. "It's not that cool, honestly. Other than having c-countless American girls fawning over wh-where you're from. That part's p-pretty interesting, to say the l-least."

Jasper nodded and turned around to walk to his apartment. He stopped and turned around to look at the other, they were right, he was taller. Being taller was weird, most males in his school were around 6 foot or so at his age, how come this one was smaller? He shook his head a moment and chuckled. "Well look at that, I'm actually taller then some guy, coolio" He pat his fox's head in his hood and continued on, not sure how strange he looked for having a fox popping out from his hood and a rather large laptop-looking bag at his side walking with someone with pink hair while he had sea-green hair. To him that was pretty normal though, like he walked around with a fox and a bag everyday, finding things and people to sketch.

Shi huffed, scowling down at his feet. Damn his height. He just happened to be at every chick's boob-height, which just wasn't uncomfortable enough, but when taller people hugged him, it felt like they were bending him over backwards and breaking his spine. Which, isn't the most amazing feeling in the world.
"How long 're you planning on staying in Hollywood, then?" Shi asked, knowing that not a whole lot of people really ever made it out here.

Jazz shrugged simply and turned to look beside him. "Not sure, awhile I assume, not like I'm leaving any time soon. I want to get to know here, at least a little bit" He sighed slightly, looking in front of him again. He continued walking for a moment before hitting the street his apartment was on. "This is it, the place your apartment's at is down a few blocks I think. Anywho, not too far now" He smiled cheerfully, pulling his little fox from his hood. He held the fox named Gear tightly, knowing it wanted to run around on the sidewalk. He never liked letting go of Gear at night, he was always worried the fox would get lost or run off. He could see the tall building from where they were on the sidewalk, it was about a block away or so away.

"... I see. I can get that," He murmured, gazing out to view the distant building. He glanced at the green-haired boy from behind, studying him and the... Fox. The story of the fox was cute and all, but he still questioned whether or not that thing was legal. "... You got a leash for 'Gear'?" Shi asked, glancing once more up at the apartment as they slowly drew closer and closer.
