Just a suggestion for next year's SS, maybe have tiers like Plumies does, so people get grouped with other people who plan on doing the same amount of work. Because the current values are pretty vague.

It's an idea but I don't think it's really a solution... Because what if something happens and you then can't meet that extended minimum?
What if you have less time than you thought, or you struggle to get art of their characters? Plus it's additional pressure on the individual.
I'm just saying, it seems like it could have more problems to it than everyone is looking at.

There could be people who sign up to be speed artists and make art for those who can't make their tier minimum. I know I'd do it for free, and others could do it for pets or dA points or whatever. If there's even a chance that you won't be able to make a higher tier minimum, then you shouldn't request it. It'll teach responsibility

I'm sorry but isn't the idea of SS to gift others? Doing a tier system would make it more about receiving. And some people who join in do their very best and that should be respected instead of tiering it as not good enough. That and part of SS is the surprise. You don't know if you have that legendary artist or not as your SS. If you teir things you take away that surprise and those people who arnt the richest or best at art will never get that shot at art from say Talonex or Sadbloom or serbronn ect. It's not about the quality or number of art you receive but instead it's about making someone elses holiday special. Tiering it will make it so that the people with the most resources will get SSes that they could aford to trade or buy art from any day of the year

It'd also make it kind of limiting, though? Like, I'd feel like I couldn't do too much more than the minimum because that'd be getting into the next tier. And the people on lower tiers wouldn't probably put much effort in-- As it is now, everyone gives it their all (And if their all isn't enough for you then.. Sorry?)

@lunamoth19: I completely agree. Tiers should not be necessary. SS is about give art and characters to our fellow CAAA members no matter how much or how little. Doing tiers would indeed make it more about receiving gifts rather then giving gifts. Thought it could be argued that through tiers, one would receive just as much art as the give but if you really think about it, then people won't give a lot just to give alot, they'll just give a lot to get alot and it'll pretty much defeat the purpose of SS. For that, why not jus do randomly paired art trades.

after what point in time do you get nervous that you're one of the few whose SS didn't do anything at all for?
Ya... This is my third year participating, and I'm just so anxious. ^^; I usually wait until the end of the week, but I'm just nervous right now!! The first year, I was completely forgotten about, and the second year, Wes and Sanara had to PM my SS to remind them that they hadn't even given their gift yet... ^^; So, I don't exactly have my hopes up too high this year... At the very least, I hope I won't get forgotten... ^^;
