For me, flop ears=girls, stiff ears=boys, mismatched I consider mutant borls

But there are acceptions! My wonderful Wolfette (who I traded away DX) is a girl, yet she's a stiff ear wolfy.
Some of you do looks (pretty=girl, other=boy), but I just wanna know how your CS pet's genders are decided!
Hello, this is Dorumon speaking. I have retired from colecting customs of my waja Neon and her mate Flaming Galaxy. Would you like a quest? PM me, I will send you on one. You must get proof that you compleated the quest by bringing me a screen shot (or if it's a pet, the image) and the page link. The quest sender LIVES!

When I name them when I adopt them, they go by that. If it's a unisex name, or I adopted or traded for one without a name, then usually the looks decide. But not always. My swirly pink V-day PPS is named Dreamer, and he's a boy. xD I don't know why, but when I adopted him from the pound, I just thought, "DREAMER! BOY!" So he is.

Hmm, I have it the same way, most flop eared are girls and most pointy eared are boys. But there are still a LOT exceptions.
I usually say that there have to be equal boys and girls from the same blanket, so if there are four outcomes then there will be 2 boys and 2 girls, whit a few exceptions.
And then if they look girly (pink/red, purple colors for an example) to me then they usually will be a girl and if they look boy-ish (blue, green, darker colors) to me then they usually will be boys..
So yeah, it usually just come to me what they will be.

I look at the pet, if it looks like a girl then it's a girl(like the royal bob tail), but if it looks like a boy to me it's a boy(like the Halloween purple demon dog), I don't choose genders for newborns i wait till they grow up(I also think bob tails look like girls not boys)
[ oh you were a phonograph, I was a kid
I sat with an ear close, just listening
was there when the rain tapped her way down your face
you were a miracle and I was just holding your space ]

I'm much the same way. (Well, minus the demon-dog part, my Jess is a girl:))

I depend it on the name. I name by appearance or theme, and depending on the dog's normal name, that's the gender. But sometimes it's out of the blue..
Pet's name: Raspberry Popsicles in Summer (Pop)
He's pink, he's bright, but he's a boy. I don't know why or how, but he's my boy.

Most of my CS dogs are female, mainly because the dog lineart has a feminine touch to it.

Usually random. I know there are some girlie/pretty wolves in there I've tagged as male. I don't want a system or for them to be cliche. I treat it like I would if I was writing. The pink male wolf is merely a quirky character to make the cast more interesting.
My green winged wolf from the second gens is a female.
