Caspian laughed a little at Bryan's joking introduction of him. "wait, you're seriously going to do that? I really don't think randomly burning things is a wise idea." he said after he heard the lighter comment. "if you need a group you could stick with us if you want." he offered to Okami.

Bryan snorted. "I'll do what I want! Plus, it'll keep us warm." He grinned at Caspian before looking at Okami. "Yeah, I agree. Might as well stick with us. And I don't see you as someone from my past, so that's a bonus!" He grinned again before going off to find that lighter.

Jake nodded as he looked at Carter. "Ok." He decided that he should try to climb onto the counter since Carter wasn't there. He set the can on the counter before scrambling up. He succeeded after a few minutes and panted softly, resting against the cabinets.

Okami was shocked, "R-really?" She paused, "No! I couldn't, I would only be a bother." Her blue eyes flickered from Caspian to Bryan. We just met? She smiled slightly, But they seem nice enough. Okami was a little confused, "Your past?"

Kirito looked around before entering the apartment complex. He thought he heard a noise but ignored it. (WB)

After locking the door and turning around, Carter managed to catch Jake desperately scrambling onto the counter top, and he had to cover his mouth with his hand to keep from smiling. Oh god, no, he was too short to jump up, that's adorable, he thought, a snicker escaping him as he joined Jake on the counter. "You're too precious, Jake," he said, flashing the boy a smile.

Bryan nodded as he looked in a store for one. "Yeah," he yelled. "I haven't had the sunniest past." He twitched thinking about the memories. He desperately looked for a lighter, needing to cause some destruction. "S-so you're like the complete package." He forced a laugh as he picked up a lighter. He grinned as he walked back, lighting the lighter.

Jake blushed madly as he stared at him in shock. He was about to try and cover up the whole struggle when he heard the front door to the apartment complex open. "D-did you hear that?" he whispered.

Caspian rolled his eyes slightly as Bryan light up the lighter. He still didn't like the idea of burning things but the words "I'll do what I want." were all to familiar and he didn't want to think about it. So he just made sure not to stand too close to Bryan and whatever he planned to burn.

Okami nodded, "My past isn't that bad." Okami muttered, "But, I guess if you guys don't mind. I'll join you." She smiled and looked down at the ground.

Kirito looked around, "This place has seen better days." He muttered to himself.

Bryan pulled the overalls to the center of the hall, away from other flammable items, and lit it on fire. He grinned as he watched it burn, twitching slightly. He capped the lighter and just watched the overalls burn.

A string of heavy curses flew through Carter's mind as the anxiety that had dissipated only minutes before came back with a vengeance. He had also heard the door open and close, but they should be fine. The door was locked, so hopefully no one would try to force their way inside, right?
"Yeah, I heard it too," Carter finally answered, sliding off the counter silently and taking out his pocketknife. It wasn't the sharpest, but Carter might be able to do some damage if he needed to. He glanced between Jake and the door, wondering what he should do. Should they lock themselves in the bathroom or something and wait it out? Or arm themselves for whatever may come? The person might even be innocent and friendly.

Jake set the can back down and quietly jumped down from the counter. He looked at Carter and said quietly, "let's just wait to see if they're dangerous."
