Again, it was strange how she called higher ups by their first names as if they were just normal people.

"I'm fine," Ilana said. "It's just.. He was killed during the Ishvalan war. I tried to learn alchemy to honor his memory, but I just don't have the talent for it."

"Join join...." He repeated with a happy ease. He then tilted his head, staring at Zuri. "Wh-What's under the bed...?" He asked, more scared than confused. He pulled his legs up so that he was now hugging his knees.

Kotaro nodded understandingly.
"Well still...sorry..." He mumbled, folding his arms. "I'm sure you could do it if you keep trying..."

"No, I gave up on that long ago," Ilana said. "I've decided to honor his memory in other ways. That's why I came here." She stood up, staring out the window, a determined expression in her eyes. "I'm going to make a life for myself here, raise a new family. That's what he would have wanted."

Hostility returned her arm to normal and paused, jumping off the the roof, landing on her feet. "What are you two talking about?" She asked Miko and Apollo, walking over to them as she dusted off her hands. Her eyes stayed on Apollo longer than they did Miko.

Kotaro stood and walked over to Ilana, taking a look out the window as well.
"I guess that's one way if doing things..." He said, putting his hands on his hips and nodding approvingly to himself.

Aito tilted his head before shrugging it off. He also brought his attention to Ilana.
"She's...different...?" He mumbled almost as if asking himself

Ilana looked over to the other twin- Aito, she remembered. He could tell she was a homunculus? Or maybe he just meant the fact that she looked like an Ishvalan? "Yes," she said, "I am different. But at the same time, we're both a lot alike." She began to scan the boy's face, looking for anything that set him apart from his twin. "My husband was interested in structural alchemy," She said to Zuri. "You know, buildings and things. He thought he might be able to give those displaced by the war a decent place to live, until... well, until he died."
