Okami walked down the street, her eyes set on a tall building. "Oh! It's a mall!" She smiled and quickly started towards it. Moments later she was walking into the building. Her eyes seemed to trick her, but she knew what she was seeing was real. "What a weird thing to do." She muttered to herself as she cautiously approached the 'fashion show.'

Kirito sat on a bench outside of the mall. He shuffled the deck of cards in his hands and hummed to himself. He made a mental note of each person who seemed affected by the radiation. He didn't give them much of a second glance, he would remember them.

"Sweet!" Carter burst into the apartment with flamboyance, caution be d*mned. Merik followed suit, bounding around the small living area with gusto. "This place is lookin' pretty spiffy for a post apocalyptic home, good call, Jake" Carter said, giving Jake a wink before flopping down on the perfectly fine couch. It had been ages since he had sat on something soft.

Jake calmly followed him inside, even though he was slightly worried that something inside the building was going to harm him and his friend? Aquaintance? He shook his head and looked at Carter, catching the wink, and blushed slightly. "Um, t-thanks." He silently sat on the other end of the couch, slightly relaxing. Midnight jumped into his lap and laid down, purring softly as he pet her.

Merik laid on the floor, the large mass of fur and fluff amassing in a pile. Carter thought back on the day's excursions, tipping his head back and staring at the ceiling. He was a lucky kid to find Jake, and luckier that Jake was a nice guy. But, now that he thought about it, Carter didn't know much about the him. As he thought, he looked at Jake from the corner of his eye. He was younger, that much was obvious. He wasn't entirely relaxed, but that cat, Midnight, really liked him.
"So, Jake!" Carter moved so he faced the other, slinging one arm over the back of the couch, "Tell me more about yourself. We don't really know that much about each other, do we?"

Jake was slightly surprised by Carter's voice and turned to look at him. "Oh, um, I guess we don't really know much... But me? I-I don't really know what to say..." He thought for a moment before saying, "Well, I guess I should start with the fact that my name's Jake Chronis. Which you already know but... Anyway, um, I lived out on the outskirts of town with my brother and father. My brother and father had to go into town the day of the accident so after I just came here to find them... I haven't found them, as you can see, but I won't give up hope... Oh, and Midnight was originally my brother's cat but he gave him to me for my 13th birthday... Um, and as far as likes go I like cats, obviously, and nature..." He glanced away but looked back. "I-I'm not really good at talking about myself... But what about you? You should talk now since I'm not very good at it..."

A sly smile slipped onto Carter's lips, and he took a deep breath. "I'm Carter Verdun, and I lived in the suburbs until-- y'know. I've been adventurin' around town with Merik, looking for my folks, and have been unable to find any sign of 'em. I'm a senior in high school, but I was held back a grade because of poor marks in math and science and had too many days skipped. I really miss the internet, and want some McDonald's and coffee. I like crosswords and video games a lot. I actually used to have a part time job at the local arcade. I think that it's good that you're not giving up hope on finding your family, and it's honorable and stuff." He nodded a couple times to himself, as though he was proud of himself for managing to say so many words with only three lungfuls of air.

Jake blinked as he listened to him talk. He smiled ever so slightly. "Wow. You really are talkative..." His smile grew slightly bigger as he processed the words. "Now I know a lot about you. Especially your personality... You're kind and very social, and even though you're not really the brightest when it comes to school, you're still smart and responsible..." He smiled more and tried to hide it by looking away. "I never would of guessed you were that much older than me, though. You look like a junior. I'm a sophomore myself and never really had a job other than house chores..."

Bryan stuck his tongue out at him before looking through the clothes. He put on a cowboy hat and pulled on some overalls. "How do I look?" he said with a horrible Texan drawl.

Caspian laughed a little, "Like a farmer I guess." he said with a small smile. He thought he heard something, a voice followed by movement. He turned trying to see if he could figure out what it was, if anything at all.

When Jake spoke positively of Carter, he faintly grew red in the face, a quiet chuckle escaping him. He wasn't often complimented, and when he was, he became really flustered. "Yeah, I actually am about to turn 19 in a two months. I guess my young looks come from all this baby fat," he pinched his cheek, stretching it out and making a funny face before letting it go. "And house chores are a lot more exciting than an arcade job, or maybe any job. At least you get to see progress on stuff. At an arcade all you do is sit behind a desk and take tickets and give people stuff. There was a really dumb uniform, too. Red and white stripes. Ugh, it was terrible. What was it like to live in the outskirts of town? Was it like a farm- type dealio?"
