(oh no he's being cute again)
Váli couldn't hold, or hide, the blush on their cheeks now. They blinked, taking in the words, and their blush only served to darken. "A-ah, thank you." they stuttered and glanced down at their mug. Tea. Tea would help. They lifted the rim to their lips and took a ginger sip of the tea, swallowing thickly. It was good. Not that they hadn't expected it to be good from the start. It was just better than they had thought it would be.

{eep}
Pol blinked, avoiding Váli's blush. He hadn't meant to make her feel uncomfortable; where had he gona wrong? "Ah, we're here." Pol breathed a sigh of relief. The park was gorgeous, filled with various trees and plant life. Near the edge of the park itself was a large glassy lake. Pol took a deep breath and smiled. "It's smells so alive," he remarked. "Ok, where should we sit?" He finally dared a look at Váli again. He had to be more careful. No more making her embarrassed.

To be honest, they nearly dropped their mug of tea as they arrived at the park. It wasn't like they had expected; it was better. They glanced at the lake and heaved a sigh of content. "By the lake?" they suggested and quirked an eyebrow at Pol as they awaited his answer.

Pol couldn't hold back a chuckle at the return of the eyebrow. "The lake sounds perfect," he answered. He took off his backpack and helped Váli spread the blanket right next to the lake. After emptying his bag, Pol flopped on the blanket, laying on his back while balancing his tea on his chest. "Sandwich?"

Váli laughed at how ridiculous Pol looked balancing the tea on his chest. They nodded, dirty blond curls bouncing slightly. "Yes, please. Thank you." they murmured, stomach growling in response. Their cheeks flushed as they wondered if he had heard it me not, hoping that he hadn't. That would only serve to make them feel more embarrassed.

Pol smiled, glad to hear Váli laugh. He set his tea aside and sat up to hand her a sandwich. He himself was famished so he brought all six sandwiches out of his bag. "I wasn't sure what kind of sandwich you'd want, so I made several. Turkey, ham, cheese, pb&j, and a one apple and Three Musketeer bar sanwiche for both of us." He showed her the odd sandwich. "I promise it's amazing."

Caspian walked through the forest, looking around cautiously. There weren't exactly paths. The trees were very tall and wide. He figured Orion was right; everything was very old. It was beginning to be late noon, and he was wondering how much time he had spent with Orion. That was odd, he wasn't sure when they'd see each-other again. So far, Caspian's day had consisted of him meeting a girl in boy clothes and then going underwater in a river to get a Native American drum for a admittedly cute boy he'd just met, who seemed to have some sort of knowledge of old stuff. Now, he was wandering in a forest without paths to find his eccentric, distant mother. A good introduction to a new life.
"Mom?" He called into the trees, though he didn't expect an answer. The trees just stared back.
He continued to where he mostly heard birds chirping, and saw his mom sitting in the branches of a tree, holding a parrotish bird in her hands. She was picking at the feathers, examining the bird while it squaked.

Váli quirked an eyebrow but made no comment on the peculiar sandwich he held out to them. "I'll have one of each," they answered and brought the rim of the mug to their lips, taking another sip. "If that's okay, of course!" they answered quickly and put the mug down beside them, sitting cross-legged. They watched as a lead fell from one of the trees hovering over them and caught it, sighing as they held it in their hands.

"Sure!" Pol spread out all the sandwiches. He began eating, dipping his sandwich in his tea. As he ate, he slid off his shoes, wiggling his toes. He sighed contentedly. "So..." He trailed off. The park was peacefully quiet. "What is your favorite?" He knew it was a silly question. Still, he asked anyway.

Lorelei sat high up in the tree, one leg spread out across the wide branch and the other hanging down in the air, at her son who was grown up but looked so small from her height in the air. She wore a pale blue workout tank top and dark green khaki shorts and hiking sandals, appropriate wear she assumed for climbing trees and studying birds. It was sad, the birds here weren't as exotic as the ones in Guatemala. However, they were still interesting. Lorelei released the bird she was holding, a juvenile blue-jay, and climbed back down the tree.
"What time is it?" She asked Caspian, wiping away sweat from her brow.
"Like, 1:00." Caspian said, rolling his eyes.
Lorelei looked him up and down. "Why are you so wet?"
Caspian didn't have really an excuse. "Uh, I wen't swimming."
Lorelei shrugged. "Okay. Let's go get some lunch, I'm starving."
They exited the forest, and Caspian noticed that Orion was gone.
