Ash looks around again to make sure no one is around before slipping into the water, she waits a moment for her tail to appear before doing a small laps around the cove. She pulls her self up onto a rock with her tail still in the water as she looks at the ocean

I sit down on a rocky ledge and look around. There's a girl in the water, but she doesn't look like a normal girl completely. Her legs are in the water but they don't look like legs. It's probably just a trick of the water on the sunlight...or maybe not.

Ash shifts slightly so part of her white tail comes above the water, she sighs softly and keeps her gaze on the water

I hold my breath and remind myself not to move. I can't make a sound or catch her attention, because if I do she will probably swim off. But that...thing, well I've never seen anything like it in all my years of fishing. It's as if instead of legs she has a fish tail. Like from myths and stories. What are they called? Mermaids. A real mermaid. I've got to be hallucinating, right?

Ash slides into the water and swims to a strip of land on the other side of the cove, she pulls her self out quite far before turning around and seeing him. Her eyes widen as she try's get back in the water but fails for she is weak from pulling her self out

I'm a bit curious to see if she's even real, but she's acting like she is. I dive off the ledge and into the water, and I start swimming over towards her. If the seas here do have a bunch of creatures like her in them, I can't believe that in all my experience I've never seen one before.
