Gilbert had started to lean against Alek when a ringing filled the hall. He turned to look behind him when he saw Cealan walking over to them. He scrambled to his feet and looked at the Slythern, his face ablaze of color. He gave a embarrassed cough looking to the side to hide his face. "You shouldn't sneak up on people like that." Gilbert scolded in a soft voice.

Alek raised an eyebrow, repeating Gilbert's words. "You accidentally charmed a nurse?" He struggled to keep a straight face, mentally telling himself that it's not funny, don't you dare laugh. Consumed with trying not to laugh, he didn't notice the approaching footsteps of Caelan. When the Slytherin spoke, Alek gave a yelp, releasing Gilbert's hand. He popped up next to Gilbert, face flushed. He spoke rapid fire, his voice squeaking for a few words, before it returned to its normal pitch. "Oh, uh, hi Caelan. Happy Christmas to you too?" The last part of his sentence was hesitant, almost posed as a question.
