Windheart followed, squeezing her way out of the narrow opening and sitting to clean her shoulder scar before they left. Windheart smiled, flicking her tail happily

Flowerstar slowed down to wait for Windheart to catch up. "Lets check the far border. We havent checked there in a while." She mewed as she jumped over a tree root without looking. She knew the forest so well she could go through it with her eyes closed

Windheart nodded, stepping carefully over the root. Her belly made her limbs a bit harder to move, but that wasn't much of a problem. The queen really took in the surroundings; just how beautiful everything was. She wouldn't see it for a long time, she realized, tripping over a rock as she took in the green growth.

Flowerstar caught her before she fell. "There." She mewed. "We are at the bor-" She froze as she picked up a scent. She sniffed the air and took a few steps back. There were paw prints in the dirt. About a day old. They werent any normal footprints. They were dog footprints. "Dog." she mewed Flowertail sniffed the prints again and her fur began to rise. "A pack of dogs...." She said as alarm passed through her

Nightfury grabbed a mouse and quickly ate. He finished it and took another mouse to the nursery.

Windheart's heart thudded. "A...a pack of dogs?" She lashed her tail, fear slowly turning to panic. "Flowerstar, we better get to camp. Warn them. It's safer there." She watched in horror as Flowerstar stood frozen in place, then turned to look at the footprints. Though they were old, a fresh scent overwhelmed her as she breathed.
