If you try out for an adopt and have to try out though an "impress me" contest. do you feel you should have to ask permission or pay for art put in other contestant's forms if you win the adopt?

You should ask because it is polite and just the 'right' thing to do, but you should definitely not have to pay. If I order/make art for a contest, I do so knowing full well that if I lose, they can use the art because it is of THEIR character. If you can't use the art anyways, why not let the other person use it?

I find that most gracious participants usually offer the winner their art. If you want a specific piece of art from someone who hasn't said anything on the matter, I would probably drop them a PM asking for permission. I wouldn't pay for the art though - chances are that if they ask you to pay they're a sore loser, what would they need to keep the art for? Declining a request to use the art is understandable since some may feel that the piece of art was made for the particular persona they had created, but if they're asking you to pay then it's probably just not worth it.

Definitely ask permission, unless the judge specifically made it a rule that all art must go to the winner. As for paying, that's really unfair in my opinion. And if it's art they ordered, absolutely not (I doubt the artist would be very happy with that honestly, I'd probably alert them if someone tried to do that with their art).

I am currently doing this now. If i win normally I would ask, most people usually beat me to it and say I can have the art. But i never pay for it because sometimes the pose or such just doesn't fit what you wrote with the character.

How many fursonas do you think a person should have?
I truthfully think a person should only have one or two. A fursona is something that should represent you FULLY. Not in separate forms. I can see two sometimes depending on how they are represented and the... thought behind them.

Hey guys! So it occurred to me that I totally forgot to actually sell any of the puppies from my Sydney and Harbour litter. XD I am starting off with auctioning off Miss Cascade. C; Art and design by me! She comes with two recolored icons and one Fullbody Chibi, and I have several sketches of her too. I will color in a few before she's sold. Cx

I'm gonna be pretty picky and there's no guarantee that she will be sold, but I feel like she might get more use from someone else. Should definitely ask to use the artwork.
But not have to pay for it. When you buy for a contest, you buy with the knowledge that you might not win.
