In-hand: In hand, Sol is very excitable. He loves to prance and pick up his feet, tail waving like a banner as he shows off his vibrant coat in front of anyone watching. He loves to be the center of attention, you know. But he's always aware of his surroundings, and is careful not to pull or drag his handler or bump into anyone nearby.
Under saddle: Under saddle Sol is still easily excitable, but he's very supple under the bit. He minds easily and is very attentive to his rider, but keeping him under control is easier said than done. He tends to pull on the bit, skittering and throwing his head. He's always wanting to go faster, to stretch his legs and unleash his speed. The stallion is always quick to jump the gun in a competition, and needs to be held back so he doesn't expend all his energy in the beginning.
Behavior:
Good: Social, usually obedient, hard working, focused, willing to learn, well-behaved when being loaded and unloaded from the trailer.
Bad: Throws head; chews bit, loves to tear up tack, likes to steal things and run away with (like hats, scarves, and saddle blankets particularly).

Personality:
▪ Young and vibrant, Sol lives to be the center of attention. He loves it when he knows others are watching him, and he'll intentionally show off for any prying eyes. This makes him a natural at halter classes, as long as the forecast doesn't call for rain.
▪ Typically a very happy and social stallion, Sol hates to be alone. Because of this, he's not picky about who he's in the company of, be it human, horse, or nearly anything else, as long as they're friendly. But in all actuality, Sol doesn't just hate being alone, he's terrified of it. If he's left by himself for longer than a few minutes, Sol tends to get noisy and jittery, stomping his hooves and whinnying softly to call back whatever companion left him.
▪ Despite his high energy lifestyle, Sol does have him moments of calm quiet, particularly at sunrise/sunset and around young children. He loves to stand and watch the sun appear and disappear, painting the sky in fire before the cool night and sparkling stars overtake the space. There's something almost meditative about these times of day to him, and this is the time when he's easiest to handle and groom, because he recognizes that it's almost time to be put in his stall. The second condition that he seems to calm down in is when young children are present. The stallion instinctively knows that the small humans are much more fragile and easily frightened than Amethyst and her stablehands, so when they're around, Sol stands very still and lowers his head to sniff them. If one is put on his back, then he only moved when he's asked, and it's never faster than an easy walk. He's very conscientious about them; Elia often compliments how good of a father the stallion will be one day.
▪ Be warned if you dare tack him up, especially if you're riding him in a show. Sol is highly competitive, and always strides to break a new record and steal the blue ribbon. He won't accept any short of his best. In most endurance races he opts to lead the pack, even if it ends up costing him more energy. With no qualms about working hard and putting every ounce of strength into his legs, paired with his intense focus and fierce determination, Sol is a forced to be reckoned with on the competition circuit. But he doesn't ever seem to become truly egotistical. He will show off even worse after a win, but in the end he's always willing to congratulate the other competitors, and will never be bitter towards another horse who might have beaten him in a race. He still has fun, win or no win.
▪ In his eagerness to get out and go do things, Sol has also been known to jump the gun and rush headlong into things without thinking. Of course, it's partially because he's so young. He doesn't take time to think of the consequences. He sometimes thinks he's invincible, which always leads to him getting too rambunctious, then somehow getting into trouble with either Amethyst, Elia, or one of the other stablehands.
▪ All in all, though, Sol is a good horse and a great friend. He's always there when you need him, even though he's sometimes there when you don't. Dependable and loyal, you can count on him to get you wherever you need to go- if you can hang on, that is.

▪ He loves to rock. You don't believe me, do you? Oh no, this stallion is a true rockstar. He loves the band called the Bad Suns, particularly the song "Cardiac Arrest" though he seems to like all of their music. You'll find it playing on a private speaker in his stall and in the trailer on the way to competitions; it helps him focus and keep calm. You can tell when he's in this almost meditative state because he'll stand completely still, lower his head in a resting position, close his eyes, and just subtly nods his head to the beat of whichever song is playing. He isn't asleep though, just enjoying the music!
▪ He's deathly afraid of prairie dogs. No one knows how or why he's so scared of them, but if he sees one, he runs and hides behind the nearest thing, be it horse or human, tree or fence. He absolutely hates them.
▪ Don't even bother grooming Sol on a rainy day. If he sees any kind of mud or water, better either get out of the way or, if you're unfortunate enough to be on his back at the time, better hang on tight. He absolutely loves to play in water, swimming and splashing whoever is nearby, and mud to him is like an addiction. Many times the stablehands have groomed him to perfection, let him out to pasture, and came back only a few minutes later to find him rolling happily in the dirt and mud.
▪ Keep-away! It's strongly suggested that you never wear loose items around Sol, because he'll find a way to steal them, and no promises that they'll come back in good condition.
In the stables: Before a competition, Sol is always very nervous and jittery, but it's not because he's scared. Oh no, it's because he's excited. He's nearly impossible to groom and tack up, because he wants to hurry up and go, get to the starting line and get into the competition. Once he feels a rider on his back, though, it's like night and day. Suddenly he calms, his breathing slows, and you can literally see his mind focus and his eyes sharpen in preparation for the competition ahead.
On the field: Sol found his calling in the countryside. He's proven himself to be too wild for the calm, collected sports such as show jumping and dressage; too impatient to take part in slower events like reining and cutting; and too energetic for short sprints like barrel racing, Sol easily fit into the endurance and cross country circuits. He loves to jump and run, of course, so he was a natural at both events, and Elia decided to have him trained in both. Though Sol loves both, he does seem to lean more towards cross country for the mix of speed and jumping, whereas during an endurance run, he's often held back so he won't burn up all his energy.╔══════════════════════╗
