- Ky's colorblindness and hallucinations traces back to a long time ago when he was only 8. Mukesh was watching Ky as usual, but, something happened. They got into a huge argument, the first ever argument they ever got into, and also the worst. Mukesh ended up getting too upset and scratched him in the forehead, leaving a scar under where his hair covers his eye. Ky, being a little kid, thought it was a smart idea to yell at him, shove him to the floor, then run off into the woods.
Ky made it pretty far when he ran away, though, he was pretty careless. He ended up falling down a large and rocky cliff due to the fact that he wasn't paying attention to where he was running. When he fell, it did a list of things to him that really messed him up. He ended up fracturing a bone in his front left leg, he got multiple scratches, but that isn't the worst it did to him. When he fell, he hit his head/forehead multiple times, leading to brain damage and damage in the cones in his eyes (the things that let you see color), making it so he only sees black, whites, and greys. He blacked out due to the fall, and was unconscious for almost a full week.
When Mukesh noticed that he wasn't coming back after 5 days, we went out and tried to search for him. He ended up bumping into his unconscious body, then carrying him back to the house. Ky woke up a day later, in shock when all he could see were those select colors. A couple years later (around when he was 11) was when the actual brain damage started to show. Ky started seeing, "shadow people", that would talk to him and tell him these malicious things. He now takes pills for it, but tends to forget to take them often.
After years have passed and they are older now, they don't fight as much, but they still do on the occasion. After this occurrence, Mukesh is afraid the events will reoccur, and he doesn't want to risk loosing his only friend. Even though they do fight, they are still very close, and Mukesh and Ky both know that, and they want to keep that bond between them as strong as possible.
