I feel like I remember in 2011 where they re-released 4 pets: 2 on the 18th and 2 more a couple of days later as a bonus. Am I remembering incorrectly?

i am not so sure you get uncommons, you get rares+ but sometimes they become uncommon, if i am wrong, my bad xD

I've a dumb question!

If you miss the turn on the new 24 hours (since I'm on a different time zone) Can you still adopt the 2 pets a few hours later or are the rares only out for the turn of the new 24 hours and disappear after?

The eighteenth works just like every other advent day. The pets are available to everyone for a full 24 hours, and then you're unable to adopt the 18th's box. ^^
