An Esprit Deer [esprit meaning "spirit" in French], or Esprit for short, is a species that takes a form similar to that of a deer. All Esprits have very large, fluffy ears, long necks, and hooves. Their eyes are all unique and it is said that by looking into an Esprit's pupils, one may see their future. The most unique trait of Esprits is that they are born from the soul of a dead animal. Their tails embody that of the animal that they are from. Rarely, an Esprit will spawn from a tailless creature, or an invertebrate, and no tail is formed. These Esprits are sometimes seen as "rejects" and often defy their tailed siblings.

This is Esprit #1!
This buck seems to have a chill about him. His horn is decorated for the cold months, conveniently looking like an icicle.
This male has a special mutation; a misshaped horn.
But what is this? His tail is hidden?
Your job is to design a tail, or rather an animal spirit, and a defense mechanism for the buck.
The winner will receive an updated version of this Esprit with the tail they designed.

GUIDELINES:
-the animal spirit cannot be a mythical or extinct being! MUST be an animal that is living now. (there may be opportunities to get a rare mutation like this in the future ;D)
-design can be in text or drawing form. If it's a drawing, it must be by you!
-700 words MAX. This includes any and ALL text in your form.

Animal spirit/tail design: Snow leopard
Defense mechanism (this must somehow connect with the animal soul, explain if necessary): Much like his animal spirit, the snow leopard, Lukas uses his tail as a means of keeping himself warm in the cold place he lives. He wraps it around his body and face to prevent frostbite.(Look at the end of the third paragraph in the 'Description' area for proof that snow leopards actually do this.) In addition to using his tail for warmth, Lukas uses his tail as camouflage. Since he lives in a rocky, snowy area, he would have a hard time staying hidden without his tail. He wraps himself up in his tail, much like he would to stay warm, to cover his brown and blue fur that stands out in the snow.
