name: Goldshimmer/Goldstar
note: I know her name isn't very good; I created her when I first read warriors when I was younger. Long story short(ish), years ago I was a part of a warriors fanclub on another site where the members joined as 'apprentices' and received warrior names after a few months. I chose the name Goldpaw, and she was later named Goldshimmer by the 'leader', and I eventually became the leader 'Goldstar' myself. She's been with me a while, so I'd rather not change her name, even though it's definitely non-traditional.
gender: female
clan: fanclan
description: Goldstar is a slightly small, green-eyed, golden-furred Maine Coon with a white tail-tip, white paws, and a white underbelly and muzzle.
personality: Goldstar tends to keep quiet in order to avoid a confrontation. She's also a strategic planner, and it bothers her when others don't think before acting. Usually preferring to be alone or with a few close friends, her leadership position is a bit overwhelming for Goldstar, but she knows that she must do what is best for her clan. She may seem, at times, tentative and passive, but she knows how to command cats with her riveting words, even though she speaks with a calm and quiet voice. Goldstar may also have a hard time accepting a mistake on her part, and will feel shame and self-resentment even after other cats have forgotten her error.
skills: Goldstar has a knack for swimming and fishing. She also loves to hunt, although her skill isn't particularly above average.
Comin' right up.
Name Type: Lyrical
Name Reasoning: As you said, it's not a very traditional name, and I do understand if you want to keep it. Of course, me being a traditionalist, I will recommend something else.
Although, I have to say. Goldstar.
Heheheheh.Alternate Name: Since Goldenstream isn't exactly, uh...appropriate, Cloverstream/Morningstream. Both prefixes describe a golden cat, and -stream is for her swimming and fishing ability.
Character Assessment: I mean, honestly, I can't see anything wrong with her.
I'm genuinely surprised! She's a pretty good character. She has some faults - being passive and self-berating when she makes a mistake - as well as some virtues - plans ahead and is willing to sacrifice her own comfort. You did ask me for some suggestions, though, so here we go.
Character Suggestions: You have a good base for her, so it's time to build up on that. Decide on exactly how passive she is - is she willing to back down from a war, or does she just let any lazy warrior get away with not contributing? How well does she earn her status, and is there anyone who thinks there should be a different leader? Does she do well under stress, or put up an act that hides her terror of the situation? How quickly does her job age her? What makes her stop, look around, and smile, bringing up a sincere belief that this is what she was meant to do, however temporary the feeling is?
