Oh my god i need this thread

I misheard way too many songs XD most memorable is, when I was younger, there was a song I heard so often that I just had to find it, but i didn't remember the singer or title... i remembered a bit if tune and one line "red sheep". I ended up hearing "Superman" by Five for fighting in pandora and it turned out it was "red sheet" XD

I have nothing better to contribute to this topic, other than telling you that it has a word/name for it.

I don't get how some people can mishear a lyric, if the lyric is sung multiple times in the song, and it is the song title.

I used to think 'Staying Alive' was 'Burning Up''

Also in Patti Smith's 25th Floor (it contains swearing, before you google it) has a line 'wrap my legs round you' which I always thought was 'Grandma looks round you' and I definitely prefer my version!
New username to remind me of the wind through the trees and the way I want to be.

Oh, this is a perfect thread for me, LOL.

I've misheard many lyrics, and laughed at commonly misheard ones. But I'll only share my most memorable.

Back before I was a fan of TFK, I heard their music on Pandora. One of the songs being "War of Change". In that song there's a line that goes "Take up my cross, not be afraid." But for awhile I heard it as "Take off my clothes, not be afraid." LOL, it was only until I saw the lyric video that I heard it correctly. And boy did I have a good laugh then.

In "Blank Space" Taylor Swift sings "Got a long list of ex-lovers" and I heard "Got a love of starbucks lovers" when I first listened to it.

I'M NOT EVEN KIDDING I THOUGHT THIS FOR AT LEAST A WEEK.
I only realized I was wrong when I was singing it with my friends and wow did they correct me.

But then there are the comets
Bright and racing past
Everyone takes notice
Even if they do not last

It’s what people remember
The dramatic burning light
That stands out on the landscape
And brightens up the night
