With a deep frown, Teddy tried to think of something believeable that didn't involve telling his new roommate how his alcaholic dad murdered his little brother.
"Same as most of these misfits I suppose. Screwed up family and nowhere else to go" It seemed a sturdy answer, and meant Teddy didn't have to lie, but he still felt uneasy about surrendering to this guy.
"I'm just a burden of the government now." He laughed coldly and furrowed his brow once more, suddenly clasped by the fear that he might start crying.
Deciding it was fair to return the favour, Teddy asked, "and what's your story?" Nodding his head slightly to the crutches, but moreso as just a gesture towards August.

Alice opened the door and found an already occupied bed. She walked to the not used bed and started to put her stuff away, tired Alice got changed and stared to read her favourite book 'Vampire Acadmey'. Alice didn't want to be bothered at the moment her normal bubbly mood was deflated.

August gave a stiff shrug, seeing him nod to his crutches; August been through the same question again and again. But not exactly worded that way. "Like you said, just another misfit thrown here by my family." He answered rather vaguely. He explained the accident that took his leg and his fathers life again and again, but that doesn't mean he liked telling the story. It hurt him to remember that tragic car crash, besides, most of the people he told pitied him, and August hated being pitied.

Teddy nodded solomnly, then paused. A time passed when both the boys were silent, and Teddy got more and more anxious, his hands twisting together nervously.
"you're right." He piped up, "This place is depressing."
Not sure what else to say, he ran one hand through his hair and pursed his lips.

August nodded and looked around again, feeling the awkward tension grow thicker. August just nodded again in agreement at what the other boy said. "So.. Mind showing me the room we'll be sharing?" He asked. Then August realized something; he completely forgot all his bag in his chair. Crap. He thought, then just sighed, figuring he can always call his mom to tell her that he forgot his stuff.

Teddy nodded, relieved to have something to do.
He pointed over at the boys' dormitories on one side of the campus, "It's room one on the second floor," He began to walk in that direction, wondering where August had his things,
"My bags and stuff are already unpacked,"

Charlie got up knocking on the main houses door hoping the boy she talked to would answer it. She wanted to get to know him more or at least his name. She shuffled her feet waiting.

August nodded and moved his crutches while hopping on his one foot to follow him. Looking up towards the boys dormitory, hoping they had a a phone in there to call his mother and tell her he left his bags in the car. Sighing, August looked down at the ground as he hobbled silently to his dorm.

As they pushed through the doors to the boys' dorm building, Ted told Alfie to 'sit' and 'stay', and watched as the big dark dog ambled away a few steps and plopped himself on the ground, looking tired. The boys entered and upon seeing the communal phone bolted up on the right wall of the room, August headed over, clearly having buisness to take care of. Teddy ambled across the room to the nearest couch, and with a heaving sigh, crashed down into it, feeling exhausted.
